BLACK SUNDAY IN LAGOS AS ARMED ROBBERS GO ON RAMPAGE

It wasn't a good day yesterday, Sunday, September 9, 2012 as dare-devil robbers said to have been armed to the teeth went on rampage, killing 3 Policemen and wounding loads in their wake. In what some have said must have been a very well-orchestrated and well-timed robbery incidence. The robbers who were said to have started from Ifako-Gbagada at about 10:35 am, where they robbed the forex market near the Gtbank, Gbagada, they were said to have come in 2 cars, a Toyota Prado Jeep and a Nissan Armada Jeep, in the 2 jeeps were 6 men & 2 female, they successfully carted away an undisclosed amount of money, but not wanting to leave quietly they later shot a man who was in his car before moving on.

Same robbers headed towards Anthony, where they allegedly shot an official of LASTMA in the legs. Not satisfied with the pain and anguish they had already unleashed, they shot at more people as they headed towards Oshodi on to Mile 2.

These same group of robbers, were said to have then headed towards Agege, where they unleashed another round of pain on the Forex dealers in that area, 4 persons were allegedly shot dead here again. Their mayhem continued as they moved towards Ikeja, where a Police Patrol went after them and caught up with them around Guinness Brewery. All of sudden hell was let loose on the area, in the ensuing shot-out, 3 Policemen were killed inside the Police Patrol Vehicle. A stray bullet also killed a 6 year old and her Grand-mother, who were watching Television in their home. The robbers later escaped into thin air.

A few weeks ago a friend was robbed at Gun-point between Fadeyi and Onipanu, an area that has become a notorious black spot on Ikorodu road anytime from 7pm, whenever there is traffic. Everyone knows that constant robbery goes on here, but it seems that the robbers have the instructions to rob with impunity. What is going? Is Lagos gradually going back to the days of Shina Rambo etc? Even with the so called Police Helicopter going after yesterday deadly robbers, not one robber was killed nor arrested. God please help us!
