Kunle Ayo is most probably one of the most gifted guitarists in the world. And just in case you never knew before now, he is a Nigerian and proud one at that. There's the likelihood that this very gifted dude was born with a guitar, the obvious reason for that assertion is because he seems to have a love relationship with this music instrument and knows how to strum it in the right places and things. The unbelievable thing is that, he is very good with other instruments too. He started with the drums, before moving on to the thumb piano before finally embracing the love of his life the 'guitar'.
His musical journey or should we say Odyssey has seen him play for such greats like Kayode Olajide, Lagbaja, the enigmatic masked one with whom he went round the world- South America, Europe & North Africa & not forgetting one of Nigeria's best, the Chief Commander himself, Chief Ebenezer Obey.
After leaving the shores of Nigeria about 12 years ago to relocate to South Africa; he has had the privilege to work with the likes of Kirk Whalum, Jonathan Butler, Al Jarreau, the late Jate Khanyile just to mention a few. He has also produced many. He has 5 albums to his credit, with the 6th getting ready to be dropped very soon.
This super talented guy has performed just about anywhere and his energetic performance always astounds.
