The very hardworking Princess of the source and owner and founder of the award winning fashion platforms Africa Fashion Week London and Nigeria, by name Princess Ronke Ademiluyi, has just added another new feather to her very illustrious wings.

She was highly honoured very recently with the announcenent of a very big appointment, by His Imperial Majesty, the Oonirisa of the Source, Ile-Ife, in the person of Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ogaga II, as the "heritage ambassador" of the Moremi Ajasoro legacy.

The late "Moremi Ajasoro" is an historical figure of extraordinary dimensions in Ife, whose intervention at a partcular point in the history of her domain Ile-ife, saved her people, her domain and by and large their heritage from extinction.

More after the break.

AFWN UNVEILS AMIRA IBRAHIM ALFA AS THE FACE OF THE 2017 EDITION

Amira is the London trained super gorgeous daughter (one of the) former Chief of Air Staff, the Late AM Ibrahim Alfa.

She is young, gorgeously beautiful, very well educated, a calm child who is very well trained and quite respectful, a fashionista to the core and an upcoming presenter, who is set to take over the entertainment scene pretty soon.

She has just been unveiled as the Face of the AFRICA FASHION WEEK NIGERIA 2017, the 4th edition in the series and franchise, which also is part of Africa Fashion Week London.

The AFWN 2017 is set to hold in the next 2 weeks at one of Nigeria's Most Iconic venues, the National Art Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos. A place that can not be easily forgotten in the history of Nigeria, as it played host to the Festac 77, the world festival of black arts and culture.

According to the organisers of the show, their choice of the impressive young lady is because she represents today's young, African, that's vibrant and vivacious and that's unafraid to explore and dream.

Her pictures above, evokes the best of the Egyptian queen of yore, Nefertiti.

AFWN 2017 MODEL CASTING SMASHES ALL.AVAILABLE RECORDS

The call for models to participate at this year's edition of the Africa Fashion Week Nigeria 2017 was a smash hit!

Never in the history of a casting call has the number of models that came reached such stratospheric numbers. It was like all the models in Nigeria, both male and female converged at the venue of the casting, which was the International Women SOCIETY (IWS) hall along the Lekki- Ajah Expressway, Lagos.

The sheer number lays credence to the fact that in just 3 years of her existence, AFWN has shown that it is the premier FASHION showcase/event to be a part of and for one to attach ones name to.

At the end of the day, the model casting team led by the renowned make up artist and model scout, in the person of Bayo Haastrup, supported by top stylist and designer Jide Reason, top hairstylist Zubby and others had the onerous task of picking just 70 plus models for the upcoming show out of the close to a thousand that came. The show itself, is set for June 3 & 4, 2017 at the most iconic venue presently in Lagos, Nigeria- the National Arts Theater, Iganmu, Lagos.

And from all that we can get, it's going to be the biggest so far in the series.
