BASKETMOUTH UNCENSORED 2014 IN LONDON SCORES ANOTHER SLAMDUNK

The way the Pound Sterling must be rushing in for Bright Okpocha & his partners, very soon the heir-apparent to the crown of Comedy in Nigeria, might soon own his own bank ooooo. There's even the gist that he has bought his own PJ already. However all of you wants to define the PJ is left to you. 

Like he normally does around Valentine every year in London, he had another supersonic showcase at the Indigo O2 arena, in London on February 16, 2014. Basketmouth and his co-travelers were in their elements, dishing out a continuous flow of jokes and jibes to the delight of all. It was a sold out crowd again, which has become very usual with anything Basketmouth and CokoBar.com is involved in. 

So great were the number of those that came to watch, that many were turned back as the venue was packed out. So you can understand what we mean by him raking in the Pound Sterling anyhow. Unlike we usually do, we weren't on ground this year to cover the show. But we still got some pictures for your viewing delight.

 Lagos| Nigeria, 30 April 2013: Basketmouth’s recent Comedy Central gig, Comedy Central Present’s Basketmouth Live at Parker’s went down a treat with South African comedy fans.   The comedy superstar, the first Nigerian to headline the series, won many new fans at the sell-out stand-up comedy gig, which took place on April 24^th at Parker’s Comedy & Jive, (@ParkersComedy), Johannesburg legendary comedy venue.

Transcending race and culture with his comic delivery, Basketmouth held the audience in the palm of his hand as he rolled out all the comedy stops to showcase his inimitable brand of humour.  Among the topics that had the audience laughing until they wept were his hilarious comments on Nigerian culture, what it was like to be a Nigerian in South Africa, the differences between a Nigerian couple fighting and a South African couple fighting, tips for guys on how to trick a girl into staying the night and tips for girls on how to avoid being tricked into staying the night!

Supporting Basketmouth at the standup comedy showcase, which has been making comedy fans FOTFL for 18 months, were Comedy Central Presents…Live at Parker’s were “Griff” (@2TRILLION), Chris Mapane  (@ChrisMapane) and Mel Jones (@IAmMelJones).

California native, Arlen “Griff” Griffin fulfilled a lifetime ambition to become a comedian after starting out at three years old entertaining patients at the convalescent homes where his mother worked.  After working the geriatric circuit for a couple of summers, Griffin’s destiny was settled and he has since made a name for himself as one of the leading comedians and on-air personalities in the USA, where he regularly opens for acts such as Beyoncé, New Edition, Mo’Nique, D.L. Hughley, Fred Hammond, Donnie McClurkin, Dottie Peoples, Mary Mary and more.

You can only showcase how you feel inside, like some have said, if you don't have it you can't express. 

We saw a lot of fun expression for you viewing delight from the AY showcase. So rather than say it was a few weeks ago. We just thought it was better late than never. See how very many translate style or should we just say fashion.

The comedy show itself from what we gathered was another fantastic success, at least if one had to judge by the number of those who attended the show. Pretty soon AY might be adding another machine to his growing garage.

GIFTS GALORE AT TYMEOUT WITH TEE A CONCERT

D Banj also surprises fans.

Lagos| Nigeria. Fans who thronged the MUSON Center on December 1^st 2012 were in for a massive surprise as multi award winning artiste and entrepreneur D’Banj stunned the audience with an exciting medley of his super hits over the years at the Tyme Out with TEE A Special Live Edition Concert.

The prolific entertainer also opened up to his fans like never before in an exciting no -holds –barred interview hosted by TEE A.

From hilarious comedy skits with TEE A, Princess and MC Abbey to musical performances from Shina Peters, Dammy Krane, Sammie Okposo, Daddy Showkey, Capital Femi, Tunde Ednut and Lynxx , fans  couldn't get enough of the artistes on stage with repeated calls being made for an encore.

“’Why did we decide to debut with the Tyme Out with Tee A Live Concert?’”  “The reason is simple really, Tunde Adewale, popularly known as TEE-A, organizer of the concert explained  “ We simply want to connect more with our fans in a warm, relaxed but exciting atmosphere. It was a fantastic reception from our fans, which shows us that our people are truly appreciative of our efforts, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves too.

“Despite the challenges, we faced in seeing this through, we’re happy that we were able to stage such a successful event. We are also especially grateful to our sponsors who partnered with us.

Tyme Out with Tee A Live Edition Concert debuted on December 1^st 2012. The concert, an offshoot of its TV format; is an eclectic fusion of music and comedy, which witnessed a mammoth crowd as excited fans thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of their favorite acts.

Highlight of the event was the raffle draw co ordinated by Ali Baba and notable comedian, Okey Bakassi.  Winners of the raffle draw were Courage Uchechi, and Atanda Jamiu who both won a carton of Loya milk each. Also Ajadi Abosede Oyindamola won a Nokia phone while Oluchi Uwajubogu won the grand prize of a return air ticket to Dubai donated by Qatar Airways.

Guests who stormed the event included Tosin Martins, Vina from Big Brother Africa, Chris Ihidero, Lepacious Bose, Toolz, Teju Babyface and wife and Caroline Adeneye . Others are Osagie Ogunbor, Segun Demuren, Ayo Animashaun, Abisoye Fagade, Steve Ayorinde, Layinka Oyedeji, Yaw, and Deji Awokoya.

Other Nigerian comedians who came to support TEE A at the event were Ali Baba, Okey Bakassi, Bovi, Seyi Law, Jedi, Senator amongst others.

TEE A DEBUTS WITH ANOTHER FIRST, INTRODUCES SPECIAL LIVE EDITION OF TYMEOUT WITH TEE A ON DECEMBER 1

Lagos|Nigeria First class comedian and one of Nigeria’s pioneer stand-up acts, Tee A, has finally released details for his hugely anticipated concert Tymeout With Tee A .

The Lagos-based comedian-entrepreneur announced today, that the special live edition of his famous TV show Tymeout With Tee A will hold in Lagos on Saturday December 1, 2012.

The variety concert, Tee A says, will take the mold of the proper show – with exciting live performances, comedy skits, mock interviews, revealing interviews, giveaways and exciting surprises no one can predict.

“We’re hosting superstar musicians, actors and celebrities on December 1. And these are some of the people that have never been on the show. So it’s an opportunity to satisfy fans yearnings and also bring the show closer to the people,” says Tee A.

Tymeout With Tee A is one of Africa’s most loved variety TV shows, showing all over the continent, as well as in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Made popular by Tee A’s rich, bold and revealing celeb interviews, as well as the hit segments with MC Abbey and Madam Princess, Tymeout With Tee A has won numerous awards within the country and abroad, remaining consistent through the years.

And the celebration this year, will prove to be the biggest ever – with A-list entertainers already signing up to be part of the show.

It’s better late than never. We were at the last Naija Kings of Comedy show in London, UK. The undeniably funny train from Nigeria touched ground at the O2 Arena last month. On the card to perform for 2 days, 1st in London and then another date February 14, 2012 (Valentine Day) in Manchester at the Birdcage were Basketmouth, I go Dye, I go Save, Bovi, Buchi, Dan D-Humorous and Senator. It wasn't just comedy all the way though, as the comedians were ably supported by 2 of the hottest guys on the music scene right now- the only Omo baba olowo himself-DAVIDO of Dami duro fame and the man with the master Flava himself - FlavoUr Nabania.

Truth be told, it was one of the best organised show one has gone to in a long while, the other part of it was that the Jokes were fresh, the punch line was spontaneous and infectiously hilarious and the delivery on point, the capacity crowd at the venue attested to the fact that they got value for their money.

The fact is, these guys can lay claim to be the Naija Kings of Comedy truly- the host was Basketmouth himself, whose mouth really leaked as he dropped one banger after the other to the delight of all, just as an introduction. He later introduced the 1st comedian- Senator- whose delivery while dropping rib-cracking jokes is unmatchable, imagine killing people with laughter and keeping a straight face. Then was the turn of Dan D-Humorous followed by I go Save, then Buchi whose mimicry and gesticulations threw people on the floor, he was followed by Bovi the Hilarious and the show was 'killed' totally by I go Dye who in our estimation is one of the most natural comedian ever, we do not think I go dye would have survived doing anything else but comedy, when he is on stage, he is in his perfect habitat, his every move, the way he talks, everything about him is a joke!!!. The man-Bright Okpocha AKA Basketmouth has so matured over the years, that his effortless gait and mannerisms shows a man, who is on top of his game and many comedians had better wake up, cos he is going to reign for a long while.
