OG-STYLE TEMPLE RULES!!! KUDOS TO OGUGWA OKONKWO

Not just anyone can be in our focus. You can only get our attention either of 2 ways and that simply means, the good way or the bad way. It takes a certain kind of oomph, style, confidence and that certain "Je ne sa quoi" to earn that focus.

This young lady at 34, defined more by the 2 letters of the alphabet- OG, which could either stand for the"original gangster" or that could also be coined to mean "original grace", is a 'fun fascinating fashionista' (FFF) of the higher order, true and through. She defines 'quirkiness' to the absolute par, with her dashing take on the old but sure elegance. She oozes awesome sex appeal, in more like a controlled way!

In a world where to bleach or is it to tone the skin to near total whitey, as the ultimate and like has become the norm, she has retained and maintained her super glowing dark sheen, which makes us describe her as the epitome of the dark and lovelies. If ever there's a candidate for "melanin popping", she is absolutely one of the biggest contestants.

There's that sure grace about her and her carriage that absolutely dazzles us. And the thing is, we do not know her one-on-one! Maybe we have encountered her in the crowd somewhere before we don't know!!!!

She has the uncanny ability to mix sexiness with confidence, without it been untidy, vulgar or oozing for sale all about it, but with classy and quiet elegance. Og style temple like many refer to her, graduated from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2008 having bagged a B.Sc in Medical Laboratory Science and thereafter got a certificate in Fashion Merchandising, not even Fashion Designing! But the lady with her atelier on Limpopo drive in Abuja, has always loved fashion from a pretty young age.

She's one out of a family of 5, which includes her very supportive parents. Meaning she has 2 siblings. Her fashion foray officially began in 2012, when 'Style Temple' officially debuted. For the next 3 years she was doing great and garnering/gaining underground cult appeal with her take on style and fashion and how she interpreted it. She 1st gained major prominence with the stunning outfit that she made for the 50th birthday celebration of the former DG of Securities and Excise Commission, Arunma Ette. That particular outfit brought her out and got her mass appeal.

From then on it has been a steady climb up the mountain of success. She blew all comers sky her with her 1st ever major show at the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week a couple of years back and has never relented in her effort ever since. Her dream is to transcend Nigeria, Africa and have worldwide appeal and nothing can stop a dream that has already gained momentum.

If she wasn't a famous designer in the making like she's on the path already, she would or could have become an accomplished and award winning Stylist of note!!!

Her style is very fashion forward and the one that helps to accentuate a woman, lady's best feature to the height. In our opinion, she is contending with 'Lisa Folawiyo of Jewel by Lisa', to compete for the unofficial title of "Nigeria's most stylish designer". These 2 designers are 2 of the best when it comes to their own personal expression. We absolutely love to see what next they would wear!

Ogugwa Okonkwo aka OG Style Temple is the one, that has caught our attention as our Tuesday Style Bombshell.!!!! Just imagine the aptly named brand-Style Temple. She's really done well with it so far.

WHERE IS YVONNE NWOSU? AS THE GORGEOUS DESIGNER SEEM TO HAVE GONE TOTALLY INCOGNITO!

The tall, light, sex siren, super stylish designer who is the founder of VONNE Couture seem to have become scarce like essential commodities. Of late, we haven't seen much of her, especially at most of those events/occasions that you would have normally expected that she would grace with her effervescent presence.

It's been unlike her not to attend the Heineken Lagos Fashion Week 2017, which held a few weeks back, we also looked out for her specially at the GTBFSHNWKND 2017 which held a few weeks after the Heineken event, but still yet, she was nowhere to be found. It's like a deliberate attempt to be incognito and to be off the radar!

Even as recent as this weekend, we had expected to see her, all bright, beautiful and gorgeous, dazzling us with her quirky style like she's known to do quite often, at any of the events that held, especially the  awesome"Hennessy Artistry event", on Saturday where many of her friends were in attendance, but alas no!

A bird who is most likely to know whispered into our ear quietly, hinting that maybe the very in your face Yvonne might have decided to travel around the world Dubai, maybe Paris, the US etc, having a great time while also getting inspired for her next collection for her fashion brand-Vonne Couture!

Maybe the sweet lady, has thought to imbibe the time honoured philosophy which many have sworn by without issues, which is "Less is more". What that just says is that the less, a bit more scarce one is, the more your value rating becomes in the eyes and mind of people", especially those that count. Or maybe!!!! Is it L.O.V.E? Another thing that can make one recoil sumptuously into a coil, can be love. Has Yvonne fallen in love?

Though we love that she might have taken this new self assured path maybe towards better self discovery, we have missed her and would want to see a bit more of her though.

So Yvonne dearie, come back into our consciousness, our yummy darling dearest!!!!!!

DAUGHTER OF BILLIONAIRE OWNER OF SIFAX MARIAM AFOLABI SETS TO OPEN MULTI-MILLION NAIRA BUSINESS EDIFICE

All roads would be leading today, Sunday, July 30, 2017 to the humongous and supremely stylish new business empire of the designer daughter of SIFAX boss, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi.

The award winning young designer, whose brother is the very popular star musician Damilola Afolabi aka LAX, a prodigy of StarBoi, Wizkid is set to wow all comers today at the grand opening of this new place.

Maryam Afolabi used to run all her businesses on Bisola Durosinmi Etti Street, Lekki Phase 1. That former edifice housed her fashion atelier and other businesses like Salon etc. But she has now moved those businesses to a much more upscale spot on Alexander Road, Ikoyi, just on the left of as you come out at that road that connects the one coming out from Banana Island, hitting Alexander Road.

The artistic expression showcased by those who built this new place is awesome to say the least. Metal containers were positioned and placed and cut to shape, to create space for Mademoiselle Aglaia' s new homebase.

So today is the grand opening, starting from 4pm.

Knowing the connect of her super rich and very influential dad and brother, the event is going to be packed with the who-is-who and also most likely top entertainers in the industry, therefore it is going to be a very colourful and stylish occasion.

Mariam's brand has grown in leaps and bounds since she began the brand, a few years ago her fashion brand which is her baby won the best young brand of the year, at that year's edition of the Africa Fashion Week London.

So we are happy to congratulate her on another leap in progress.

Aisha Shaba is the younger sibling of Jumai Shaba, the gorgeous lady you all used to see on Jara. We can bet you would have encountered Aisha, she prefers to spell it Ayesha on Tinsel before. She loves acting and she's presently one of the 10 lucky contestants vying for the top spot at on going new reality series ''Africa's Next Hollywood Star''. There are 5 contestants each from Nigeria & Ghana. They are all competing to be the lucky co-star on a film project with handsome hunk-Morris Chestnut in his next movie, while also getting a one year contract with a Hollywood agent.

She's just finished a movie with Sneeze in which she worked alongside consummate actor Jim Iyke, there's another movie already in the pipeline also featuring Oreka Godis, the delicious former OAP with Beat99.9FM. We also hear that there's a major project upcoming with the incredibly talented Emem Isong. So the young lady seem to have plenty up her sleeves now, which is good.

But one talent she's also very well known for, is that she's a gifted designer. She's the owner of her own eponymous label Ayesha. And men her designs are in your face sexyyyyy!!!. Since getting back back from schooling abroad, she's opened 2 boutiques of her own, one on Allen Avenue, Ikeja & the other one in Victoria Island, just behind the Bella Adenuga Gold Building on Ligali Ayorinde.

We caught up with her just yesterday, wearing one of her own collections and we have seen her in several, a sheer piece with the mesh in some very strategic places, very daring is only how we can describe it.

EMMY COLLINS NOW A BLOGGER!!!

 

EMMY 'THE BALLISTIC' COLLINS

We are loving the fact that many are now catching the bug for blogging. We think it's becoming a fad sort of now. Majorly because everyone seem to have a view about something. So it's their voice and their platform to sing, talk, chat etc. London based (he is a lot in Nigeria, nowadays) Nigerian designer Emmy Collins is the latest to embrace blogging. And in the last few weeks he has been shooting from his hips consistently with his Magnum 45 causing major mayhem. 

The very eccentric (original) designer has taken to blogging like fish to water and in the past few days has been raising dusts of excitements with his topics & write-ups, causing major reactions from his subject matter. His bullets have been flying left, right, center, straight, upwards & backwards. It seems like it can hit anybody, both friends & perceived foes alike causing unprecedented reactions. It's relief in a way, that at least an industry person in toto is coming out with his own view on things in his world and industry.

Emmy is coming out in his writings as being feisty & fearless and straight-forward. He seems to be on the mission to either expose the charlatans or unveil those who are the mainstays of the industry. From the little vibes that we have been getting, the fear of Emmy Collins now, is gradually becoming the beginning of wisdom. We are basically just loving the fact that the more the merrier, let more people come on board, to shake the chaff from the wheat.
