DJ XCLUSIVE SANDWICHED BY ISIS MODELS ON COVER OF MODE MEN MAGAZINE

Rotimi Alakija better known by all and sundry as DJ Xclusive is the cover personality on the only still existent Men's Lifestyle Magazine in Nigeria Mode Men Magazine. He shares the cover with 2 models from one of the 2 best model agency functioning in the country-Isis Model Agency owned by Joan Okorodudu. The 2 girls are the 2 last winners of the Nigerian Next Super Model competition fame.

Since Mode Men like the name suggests is a Men's lifestyle magazine, more of the focus is on DJ Xclusive, who is said to be one of the best deejays in the country, some have even rated him top 5 best. The British born Nigerian dude is as handsome as they come and also very stylish. We only even just found out that he is not related to the richest black woman on planet Earth- Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija.

The Kings College Lagos boy, Brunel University, Uxbridge, London alumnus (financial computing), who is a deejay, music producer and artist, in his interview spoke candidly about his growing up years, how his foray into deejaying began and his plans for a grand entry into Nollywood.

Apart from the feature on DJ Xclusive, there are also many other very interesting features that would get you enthralled. Especially so because its a Valentine's edition, you will see enough Valentine gifts idea for the men.

So make sure to go get a copy now!!!!!!!!!!!!

NIGERIA'S NEXT SUPERMODEL 2012- ALL HAIL THE NEW QUEEN OF THE CATWALK

ELATED FAVOUR LUCKY IN HER NEW CAR
At just 14 years old, Favour Lucky has the world laid bare before her. The tall teenager at about 6 feet is already, and that's if all works out well , on the way to super-stardom. Some are already of the opinion, that the heir-apparent to Oluchi Orlandi's crown as finally arrived.

She emerged the new queen of modeling in Nigeria at the recently concluded NNSM 2012, amongst the 23 that competed for the same crown. It was a fierce competition, 3 of those who competed came in from the UK, the US & Canada. But at the end of the day, the judging panel, made up of the likes of Deon Redman, a top South African Fashion show producer and model scout, Walid Attalah, top Lebanese Couturier, known world over for his unbelievably gorgeous outfits, that cost millions of dollars (We heard reliably that he would soon be opening a store in Nigeria), top fashion icon, architect of note & philanthropist, Princess Fifi Ejindu, fashionista extraordinaire and renowned wellness advocate, Dr Vivian Oputa, the founder of Isis Model Agency and main organiser of the NNSM, Joan Okorodudu, Editor, New African Woman Magazine, Regina Jane Jere, Samer Ratta, the Executive Editor of Moda Style, one of the biggest fashion magazines in the world & Jemma Ford, a top representative of FTV, who came in from South Africa, were all convinced beyond any doubt that Favour Lucky was the one deserving of the crown and they all unanimously awarded her the crown.

Favour Lucky, born February, 1998, meaning she would be 15 very early next year, would use the next one and half years to learn the nitty-gritty of the modeling world, so as to better prepare her for the grueling world of international modeling. 2 unbelievable names for just one person- Favour & Lucky. Seems like the name has done her unbelievable good. For emerging the winner, she went home with a brand new car, a Kia Rio, keys and car were delivered to her immediately. The young winner already has her work well cut out for her though. Yes she can't work as much as she would want now, because of her age, she must be 16 before she can go all out, but she's already engaged by L'Oreal Paris in Nigeria, through their  hair brand Dark & Lovely for some work. Favour, was not the only winner on the night, Olubunmi Ademokoya, who is Isis Model Agency, biggest fish, having modeled round the world, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, Washington, New York, Paris etc, she was the former 'Best Model of the World at a very early stage in her career, and was also a winner on the day, she got a brand new car, a Chevrolet Avio car and $3000 dollars gift and would be going on an all expense paid trip to Spain, Milan & Paris. Other winners on the night, were Jessica Okpo from Cote'd ivoire, who won the crown of Africa Next SuperModel  & got $2000 dollars, and an all expense paid trip to Paris, France. Flavinia Matata, from Tanzania was declared Africa's Most Outstanding Model of the year 2012. Princess Fifi Ejindu, need we say more about her, got a recognition award as Nigeria's Style Icon of the Decade, while Caleb Eguenu, was also recognised for his Charity Works.

It was a great night, the venue of the event- Oriental Hotel, was packed to the brim, we believe there were over a thousand guests at the event, we saw the likes of top designer Ngozi Nkoloenyi, Ronke Ademiluyi, founder of the Africa Fashion Week London, designer extraordinaire Data Okorodudu of the JD7 fame, former Miss Nigeria 2004 to 2010, Eme Maya-Lawani, MD of Studio 24, Abuja, Chris Oputa, several of the MBGN Queens, Publisher of FAB Magazine, Akinjide Babs-Familusi, Club owner Ruby Dabbour of Caliente(they organised the after party), top South-Sudan supermodel in the making Ajok Kuol-Manyang, Samantha Dollar, CEO of Zohi Taglit, upcoming star actress Beverly Naya, young upcoming designer of note Yinka Fashola of MOOFA Designs, CEO of E24/7 Biodun Kupoluyi, the Consular General of the French Embassy, the CEO of Bouygues Construction & several of their directors, top execs of TotalFina/Elf, FTV crew, Associated Press crew, Reuters crew, CEO of FTV Africa, Russell Connolly, Benjamin Nweke and so many others.

This is probably the biggest NNSM ever done so far, in terms of budget, coverage, number of guests, sponsorships and supports, gifts etc and they must be commended for a job well-done.

The night's host was Brian Okpara, former Mr Nigeria.

BACKSTAGE PAPS AT THE AFWL 2012- DAY 1

We say shame to bad people oooo. The 2nd annual Africa Fashion Week London has come and gone. And we are happy to tell all the naysayers that it was a resounding success no matter the yardsticks anyone might one to use to judge it. The organizers in the face of it all more than delivered, on the promises made. Though little improvements needed in some areas, it’s all part of the learning process.

Already the media coverage after the show has been overwhelmingly fantastic. Financial Times of NY did a marvellous job, the Metro in the UK gave it fantastic review, it was written by Helen Jennings of Arise Magazine, it was immediately reported on BBC and it's even on their website, including BBC China with amazing pictures to the boot. Reporters came from far and near, including bloggers and fashion writers. It was a great success and we can only improve and so shall we. Next edition is at the Somerset House, the SOMERSET HOUSE. Yes!  It’s our next point of call, that's the home of the world renowned London Fashion Week. We dare say, 'Impossible is Nothing'.

Check out a few of the backstage paparazzi. This is where the whole show gets packaged. Make-up artists running around, hair-stylist holding the hair-sprays like guns, the main stylists running, shouting, arranging etc. Show producer in mad frenzy to deliver a picture perfect show. It's all a Crazy, manic world, but we love it!!! Don't worry oooo, we have the full runway showcase & the out and about all upcoming. Just enjoy this teaser first.

FRONT-ROW, BACKSTAGE AND GUESTS AT THE UBUNTU COLLECTION OF THE LFW 2012

If a show's success can be evaluated only via the number of guests, audience or on-lookers that came to cheer or just look, then the Ubuntu Collection, which had the Nigerian focus as its major highlight should be awarded the status of over-whelming success: 4 Designers from Nigeria showcased- Ayo Van Elmer who is based in Vienna, Austria, but makes her clothes and fabrics from Nigeria, there was also Zohi Taglit who is Abuja based, then there was Studio 24 and finally House of Jola, owned by Mrs. Joan Okorodudu . Like we had earlier reported, the event venue was totally packed out and many had to stand to catch a glimpse of the showcase.

Most importantly according to the feelers we got, many were not disappointed by what they saw on the catwalk. We were everywhere during the event, running from one spot to the other, trying as much as possible to get pictures of all that was going on, so in this package we have for your viewing pleasure, a mix of pictures of happenings backstage, some as the guests were arriving, a few pictures of fashionistas just outside the venue and those who had the privilege of sitting at the much coveted front-row bench. Enjoy!

All the pictures were taken by MM.
