INEC DEREGISTERS PASTOR KRIS OKOJIE'S FRESH DEMOCRATIC PARTY, BUT SOWORE'S PARTY AAC AMONGST THE 18 SUCCESSFUL ONES REMAINING

Ultra suave man of God, Pastor Kris Okotie's dream of becoming the President of Nigeria according to how his Lord had revealed to him, might have met a slight snag for now, as the platform, the FDP, the Pastor of the Household of God Church prefers to ride on for his dream to come true, has been deregistered by the Electoral umpire, that is the INEC as was announced by the chairman of the commission recently.

His political party, the Fresh Democratic Party [FDP] was one of the 75 that was deregistered by the INEC for not meeting certain provisions. Although one of the 75 political parties have instituted a case against the INEC for their deregisteration.

According to the statements made by the INEC chairman, the commission deregistered the 74 political parties
because they breached requirements for party registration.

One of the breaches given by him was the failure to win at least 25 per cent of the votes cast in one state of the federation in a presidential election or 25 per cent of the votes cast in one local government area of a state in a governorship election.

Another reason was the failure to win at least one ward in a chairmanship election, one seat in the National Assembly or state houses of assembly elections or one seat in a councillorship election.

While explaining that 75 parties did not satisfy the requirements, he said that one of the parties went to court, saying its fate would be determined by the judiciary.

According to Yakubu, Nigeria now has 18 parties as the Booth Party registered after the 2019 election would continue to exist.

He said, “In order to implement the provision of the Fourth Alteration to the constitution, the commission carried out an assessment of political parties to determine compliance with the requirements for their registration.

“Similarly, following the conclusion of the 2019 general elections, including court-ordered re-runs arising from litigation, the commission was able to determine the performance of political parties in the elections.

“In addition, they were also assessed on the basis of their performance in the area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory which coincided with the 2019 general elections. It should be noted that the FCT is the only part of the country where INEC is empowered by the constitution to conduct LG elections.

So now, there are only 18 political parties registered in Nigeria and one of them is Omoyele Sowore's African Action Congress AAC.

The fine boy controversial General overseer of the Household of God church, Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, who seem to have become a perennial Presidential aspirant we hear is set to contest again come 2015.

The very wealthy man of God, who is also a well acknowledged philanthropist, by virtue of his annual intervention known to all as Karis Awards, which seeks to recognize and financially reward Nigerian citizens, who had served their country selflessly, is said to have made known his plans very recently. 

The 55 year old very flamboyant pastor, televangelist & author, a noted orator at that (born June 16, 1958), who in the last quarter of 2013 celebrated his 27 years as a pastor and 30 years as a born again christian by buying 2 very impressive & expensive luxury cars said to be valued at not less than N110 million  (Rolls Royce 2014 bespoke Phantom coupe series II & a Range Rover Autobiography), if he does run for the election would be making it the 3rd time, he would be doing so. 

The twice divorced, multimillionaire pastor (Forbes rated as one of the top 5 richest Nigerian pastors) has contested severally for the highest office in the land since 2003.  The first time he contested was as the presidential aspirant of the then Justice Party of Nigeria, and he was one of those that lost to Chief Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo, when the retired General ran for his 2nd term in office. He later on moved to another party, National Democratic Party, also as the presidential aspirant of that party, it was from this party that he set up his own political party, Fresh Democratic Party, the party he represented as the presidential aspirant against the now late Alhaji Umaru Yar'Adua, who he against lost to at the 2007 elections. He did not participate at the 2011 elections against the present commander-in-chief, Dr. Goodluck Azikwe Ebele Jonathan. 

According to the very well spoken man of God, his bid to rule the most populated black nation on earth-Nigeria, is according to a divine mandate from the God of Creation. Apparently, this divine mandate from God is what has continually fueled his desire and that has made him a serial presidential candidate. So until this divine mandate is fulfilled, we would most probably be seeing the super cars loving pastor contesting for a long while.

A bit about his resume, the former top Nigerian pop star of the 80s, attended the renowned Edo College, Benin City, Edo state for his secondary school education, he thereafter went to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu state, where he graduated with a degree in law. It was while he was at the law school that he embraced Christ and thereafter went to Grace Fellowship Bible School, for his pastoral training and thereafter set up the Household of God Church. 

Let's just hope that this would be a 3rd time lucky for our beloved but controversial man of God. One is just curious to ask the question, whether the very large Catholic follower-ship would vote for him, who he is reported to have said are all hell bound and their head the Anti-Christ would vote for him, since we all know that election basically is a game of numbers. So we await 2015 with bated breath. 

Is Pastor Kris Okotie the God anointed leader that we have all been waiting for? 2015 is just around the corner.

CHURCH REACTS TO PASTOR KRIS OKOTIE'S MARRIAGE BREAK-UP

After the initial shock of hearing the news about the break-up between the Presiding Pastor of the Household of God Church-Pastor Kris Okotie and his former wife Stephanie Henshaw Okotie, the church has decided to issue a press statement about the situation. 

The Church apparently decided to clarify a few issues about the marriage that was supposedly, signed, sealed and settled amidst loads of pomp and pageantry about 4 years ago, which has now hit the rocks. 

Mr. Ladi Ayodeji, who is the church spokesperson in a signed statement, said the decision to cut asunder the marriage was consensual. 

Going further-“The Pastor of our Church, the Household of God, Oregun, Lagos, Rev Chris Okotie announced his separation from Stephanie his wife of four years, at the end of last Sunday service. 

'' Both parties arrived at this decision after careful review of the prevailing circumstances which pointed to the fact that it is the best option for them at this time. They also agreed not to divulge details of this incident for personal reasons. 

“Rev Okotie thanked concerned friends and well-wishers and asked for understanding. He also expressed the hope that their decision would be respected as no further details would be given on this issue.” 

Pastor Kris Okotie was married to the former Pastor Tyna Okotie for several years (17 years to be more precise) before they got divorced several years ago. After staying single for several years making him one of the most eligible bachelors in town then, he got married a second time to divorcee Stephanie Henshaw in August of 2008, a decision that was hailed and supported by many and frowned on by a few. The nuptial ceremony was a very classy affair, with many friends of the very eloquent and Flamboyant Pastor falling over themselves to show support. We were present at one of the ceremonies at Nos. 6,George Street, Ikoyi, Lagos then. We hear these would be Stephanie's third attempt at being married and she has 3 kids from the marriages. 

Now after only 4 years, the marriage contracted has fallen apart and broken down irretrievably, according to Pastor Okotie himself “Stephanie and I are no longer married. We have separated. You can see she’s not in church today. It’s due to irreconcilable differences and you should please respect our wishes at this time because there is no going back.” 

We wish both parties well in their future endeavors.
