NTDC DG & OTHER TOP EXECUTIVES FACE FRAUD ALLEGATION

It's not the best start that anyone would have envisaged for the very beautiful new Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC). Not only is the new DG beautiful, she's also very brainy and hard working at that. 

Now after only just a few months at the helms of affair of the tourism corporation, where we hear she's doing a marvelous job already, she and a couple of top officials of the organization have been placed on a travel ban, pending an investigation into alleged fraud. 

The fraud been investigated is to the tune of N270 Million Naira and it was raised in a petition by a concerned staff of the same organization, who raised eye brows  he felt there was hanky-panky  involved in what was been tagged out of budget expenditures. 

Under investigation as we speak are about 6 top officials of the corporation including the DG & the CSO, all are said to have reported to the EFCC already and have been granted administrative bails after initial questioning. 

In the course of investigation some little dust has been raised especially as concerning the CSO of the Corporation, whose official car has been impounded pending proof of innocence.

TOYIN LAWANI DOES A DOUBLE SLAMDUNK AT THE AFWL 2013

 Serial entrepreneur and the boss of the growing business conglomerate, Ms. Toyin Lawani had a great evening at the 3rd edition of the Africa Fashion Week London, on Saturday, August 3, 2013, at the Old Truman Brewery, on Brick Lane, Shoreditch, East London. 

She got the whole hall excited with her new collection at the AFWL 2013. She had tagged the collection- the Freedom collection 2013. Apparently the idea is to pass across a message of self-expression without inhibitions whatsoever. It was bright, sassy, unconventional in a way, playful and sexy at the same time. It was made up of her favourite polka dotted outfits in PVC leather but in very bright colours- Pink, Yellow, lilac, blue etc. Not just that alone, there were the ultra sexy, very clingy multicolored dresses that clinged on to the models very sexy silhouettes like 2nd skins. 

The minute the music came on cue to announce her collection, with the first model stepping out everyone knew immediately, they were on to a very exciting 12 minutes. The models one after the other came out with loads of attitude to show-off. They weren't just strutting, but also dancing and showcasing their outfits with much aplomb. The audience seemed to have been waiting for the energy been released and flowed with it clapping excitedly.

When the lady of the moment herself came out on the catwalk to take her bow, she was in a red polka-dotted outfit on a nice pair of white tennis outfit, looking all rock chic badass. While strutting to the front, she also revealed with much aplomb her gradually growing baby bump!!! Just like someone exclaimed, Toyin did a Beyonce on the catwalk!!! Wedding is on the card from the little we are hearing!!! (Not confirmed though)

A big congratulations to her on both count:On the very well received collection & also on the new addition coming on the way.

Wow! wow! wow! We are so happy to celebrate some great people's #birthdays. Some in the past days, while some today. Let's start with the extraordinarily gorgeous #Princess Fifi Ejindu, her name resonates all that's good, gorgeous & great. The brilliant architect from the South-south added a year a few days ago and unlike her decided to have a quiet one, instead choosing a low-key celebration to give glory to the Almighty, for grace, mercy, kindness & love. Many can still readily recall her one of a kind 50th birthday celebration at the only 7-stars hotel in the world- The Burj-al-Arab. She rolled out the drums in celebration for reaching the Jubilee year-50. Friends from near & far, all converged at the Burj to serenade someone many had come to refer to as a wonderful human-being. And because of the sheer opulence of last years shindig many had expected the very liquid lady (some say, she's one of the wealthiest women in Nigeria) to have another party. The life patron of the #AFWL (Africa Fashion Week London) who is helping to stage one of the premier events happening in London this summer at the Dorchester Hotel. Princess Fifi is one of the most philanthropic people in this part of the world and is marking this year's birthday with the receipt of her last year's birthday present to herself. 

The humongous present is none other than a brand spanking sparkling white Rolls Royce Ghost, which she had placed order on since last year. We hear that the glorious machine would be landing sometime soon. Happy birthday our own Nefertiti.

Another birthday person we are celebrating is none other than the hunk, everyone knows as #Kunle Aluko. The young, upwardly mobile dude, whose elder brother-Kola Aluko is one of the top 10 richest persons in Nigeria clocked 40 on Monday, May 20, 2013. Since life like it is said begins at 40, we hear he is rolling out the drums for the celebration this Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Civic Center, Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos. So expect to see most of Nigerian young Turks, the suave, the stylish and IT couples gathered at the party. We can bet it would be show-off par excellence- Ferrari's, Porsche Carrera's, Benz AMG's, G Wagons, Special Range Rovers etc on display. 


The Polo loving Kunle like his brother is into Oil & Gas, whilst also a defense contractor. So he is quite liquid in his own right. Happy Birthday bro!

The other person we are celebrating is one of the nicest being in the whole world. And it's none other than the very stylish & petite one, the one and only Miss J or J-Wonder or J-Wow or better still the only under-boss at Polo Ltd, where she is the Executive Director.  #Jennifer Obayuwana added a year and clocked 31 today, Thursday, May 23, 2013. And because of her very busy schedule she's having a quiet celebration. She's most likely either in Geneva or Paris as we speak, attending to matters that concerns her luxury brand Polo Ltd, which is Nigeria's no 1 purveyor of luxury goods. Think names like Rolex, Franck Muller, Hublot, Audemars Piguet, Mont Blanc, Cartier etc than think Polo. We hear that since she came on board at her dad's company, It's been a upward swing in terms of productivity & profitability. 

Jennifer is one of the most avant garde dressers in the country. So quirky her some of her stuffs (garbs/apparels/shoes) many wants to steal them. We particularly hear that her wardrobe is one of the most intimidating around, boasting several collectors items (bags, shoes and most especially wrist-watches).  D banj's heartbeat we are sure is having a great one wherever in the world she might be at right now.

Other birthdays worth mentioning are those of Deacon Gamaliel Onosode; the board room guru and perfect gentleman, clocked the ripe old age of 4 scores a few days ago. Trybe's Records head honcho Eldee d Don- the rapper and award winning producer's birthday was today. Also noted is that of prolific actress Rachel Oniga. Last but not the least, also a year older today is arts impresario Chief Mrs Nike Okundaye, the great artist & designer is the founder of the Nike's Art Gallery.

It's not the best of times currently at the NTDC(Nigeria Tourism Development Corporation) as the parastatal's erstwhile Director General, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, the very action packed and ebullient boss has been sacked and in his place another director has been appointed and has resumed immediately. 


According to our findings, the removal of the man who has helped in no small ways to bring positive attention the way of Nigeria through his unrelenting works might be due to politics. The man many have come to refer to as ' Mr Tourism' we hear has not had it easy since the arrival of the Minister for Culture,Tourism & National Orientation, in the person of Chief Edem Duke, so bad was their falling out at a point about 2 years ago that the NTDC DG was temporarily removed, it took the intervention of some highly placed individuals to cause both sides to sheath their swords and Otunba Runsewe was returned to his post. 

Now after nearly 2 years of that incidence, the now former DG has been removed finally and a friend of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim in the person of Sally Mbanefo has been appointed as the new DG. The gloriously gorgeous new Executive Director is a force to reckon with in her own right. The University of Lagos, 1986 Law graduate, has had about 25 years corporate professional experience in Banking, Manufacturing & Oil and Gas sectors. Till her latest appointment, she was an Executive Director at Keystone Bank Limited, before this appointment she had done well running her own companies and doing very well with them. Though many are of the opinion that the new DG is eminently qualified and would do a great job at her new appointemnt. They are wondering why someone of the caliber of Otunba Segun Runsewe, who helped in no small measure to inject life into a formerly comatose sector of the economy and who took to the job as if his whole existence depended on it and winning many awards on the job, could be removed so unceremoniously. 

Anyways easy come easy go, bye-bye to the great man, tourism would miss you and welcome Sally Uwechue-Mbanefo, all eyes are on you now.

 The grand boss of the boys in Bayelsa, His royally pardoned one- Chief Diepreye Solomon Peter Alamieyesiegha has been enjoying a new lease of life since after his pardon by the FG. It's like he goes out more openly now, unlike before and why would he not? If you were the one declared a criminal before and the boss now declares you okay after-all wouldn't  you now flaunt your new found stamp of approval?

The Tiger of Bayelsa was one of the special guests of honour at the birthday celebration of one of Nigeria's best comics, in the person of Julius 'the genius' Agwu very recently, where we heard it was a case of Naira rain for the birthday boy, who also used the occasion to launch a book about himself titled ''Jokes Apa RT''. 

We heard, though not confirmed, that one of those who made the day very memorable for the birthday boy was Chief Alams like many like to call. A bird whispered into our ears that the former Governor quietly donated a 'paltry' sum of 3 Million Naira as his own contribution on that day.

Who says the boss is broke? He is most definitely not.

Come this Tuesday, February 19, 2013, all roads would be leading to Oke Ona, Egba, Abeokuta, Ogun State as the youngest wife of the Aare of Lagos, Multimillionaire real estate mogul Chief Rasaq Akanni Okoya, in the person of Shade Okoya would be decorated with a chieftaincy title. HELLO FIRST LADY! How's Germany treating you?

It's not something new that our first lady left the shores of Nigeria very recently, either she left by herself or was airlifted: Leaving Nigeria is leaving Nigeria.  What we know basically,  is that she's presently in Germany where she's gone for a medical checkup, for an ailment we Nigerians don't have a right to know about and that's because (it's on the need to know basis). Truth is, if we know what it is that she's gone to treat, what can we do about it.  What is very obvious majorly is that,  no Nigerian hospital could have treated madam first lady, especially as they lack the equipments for proper diagnosis and by extension even the doctors in the country would not have done a good job (at least by madam's standards). 

We just came about the address of where the first lady is staying at in Germany this morning. Her Excellency, the 1st lady of Nigeria is lodged at Hotel Nassauer Hof Wiesbaden, Germany.  It's a 5-star luxury hotel in Central Wiesbaden, it has been in existent for all of 194 years now, was built in 1819 and was remodelled in 2003. It has a Michelin star restaurant and great spa facilities. The hotel has 169 rooms and 30 suites and it's just 30 minutes from Frankfurt Rhein Airport. The hotel is a member of ''the leading hotels of the world''. Hotel Nassauer Hof Wiesbaden is referred to as the true gem of German luxury hotel. 

That's where our first lady is having her much deserved rest and we think from where she would either connect with her doctors or where they the doctors would be visiting to check her up.  We don't know where people got the unconfirmed gist about the first lady having undergone an operation to remove fibroid. People must desist from unfounded speculations,  until we all hear from the first lady's media aides, it is still just a check up.

THE QUEEN & HER SOUTH-SOUTH GOVERNOR

Just like they went all out to deny our story the last time, we know that they would do their very best to deny this one again. But we know the truth and those in the know also do too.

This queen's many dalliances are of the legendary kind. She's been in and out of relationships so much so that we know that very soon, she would either write a book about her escapades or she would go around the world to give lectures on how to deal with gullible men and come out of it looking like 24 carat gold. We won't bore you with her past, because that's like giving out too much, but her latest love is the Chief Executive Officer/Chief Security Officer of a oil producing State.

Her main man is in dire straits, licking his wounds silently and in shame after being dealt with and left lonely. Madam queen doesn't give a damn at all, she now stays at the new place in Ikoyi, which the Governor got for her. Incidentally, the main man (broke now and managing his life) we hear is still so much in love with her, but cannot anymore cope with her expenses, is still waiting in the wings, peradventure madam might have a change of heart one day and come back home.

POINT TO PONDER- YOU THINK YOU ARE SAFE, BUT......

We got this and it got us thinking. So we thought everyone need to know, just in case ''you all play the away game thinking its safe and okay'. You need to have a re-think. We must be safety conscious, or else we would become an indirect source of anguish and pain for so many others.

Hear this- "FUNKE is newly married to d Love of her Life & expecting a baby with her husband DAPO, and so she's having unprotected sex because that's her man.
DAPO however has a woman on the side, SUSAN, and he is having unprotected sex with her because she's a decent lady, loves "skin on skin", besides that's the only person other than his wife, he's having sex with, so he tells himself he is safe because its only two women..and he trusts them.

Decent Susan has her man, IK who means the world to her and she having unprotected sex with him because that's the man she intends to marry. She tells herself she is safe because she only has two men, Dapo a married man and IK....

But IK has an outside woman named CHICHI a young "good" undergrad he's also considering to marry, and is having unprotected sex with her because to him Susan is faithful so he tells himself its only two women he is having sex with so it cant hurt him. CHICHI on the other hand has no personal man, just friends or lecturers who assist her "ministry" when she has urges and IK ain't around.

Do you see where this is going??? Everyone thinks that they are safe when in fact they are so unsafe & at risk.

 

BISI IBIDAPO-OBE DROPS BABY GIRL

Top yoruba act, known by most as Olabisi Omo Logba logba, real name Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, has put to bed. The bouncing baby girl, came into the world today- early morning of November 30, 2012.  Place of birth is the prestigious Reddington  Hospital on Isaac John Street, Ikeja, Lagos. The healthy young babe, came in at about 10AM. 

She was so elated when we called her to wish her well. And to show how strong and healthy she is, she was already on her way home when we chatted. 

There had been a bit of controversy recently bothering on the paternity of the baby's dad, though Bisi had refused to agree to or even deny the person many claims is the baby's dad. 

We are so happy for her and her daughter, her first child and we wish them well.

GENERAL BUHARI 1ST DAUGHTER, ZULAIHATU HAS PASSED ON

The 40 year old first daughter of the former Presidential Aspirant of the CPC, Major General Muhammadu Buhari, has passed on. Zulaihatu, died at the Nasara Hospital in Marafa Estate, Kaduna after giving birth to a very healthy baby girl. Prior to this new baby girl, she's had 2 other kids- Amira & Mohammed. 

She was born on December 5, 1972, meaning she passed away 7 days to her birthday and 19 days to her dad's 70th birthday, his own birthday is on Dec 17. Incidentally, her younger sibling- Halima is preparing for her wedding on December 22, only for this very sad occurrence. Her death is said to be connected to complications from sickle cell, which she suffers from.

May her lovely soul rest in peace.

KADUNA GET SET FOR VP SAMBO & GENERAL BUHARI

Kaduna State in the North of Nigeria in December is going to be in the news. Reason why is because, in that month that ends the year, the gorgeous daughters of these eminent Nigerians (VP Namadi Sambo & General M. Buhari) would be getting married to their heartthrobs.

The Vice-President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria's daughter, would be getting married in a ceremony, that we hear would kick-off from Wednesday, December 5, 2012 and as it is usual in the Northern part of Nigeria, the ceremony would last through the week till the weekend. So the Sambo's (the VP & his wife Amina) would play host to many dignitaries from all over Nigeria, who would definitely converge in Kaduna to celebrate with the VP's family.

Not too long after in the same month of December, on the 22nd of the month to be precise, all things being equal, the former Head of State of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari, Rtd, would play host to many Nigerians from far and near, as his gorgeous daughter, Halima would be getting married. The wedding fatiha would also hold in Kaduna, just like the VP daughter's own and we hear it would last for 7 days. We expect that it would be another gathering of Nigeria's who is who at both weddings. General M. Buhari, was the presidential candidate of the CPC (Congress for Progressive Change) at the last election.

While the VP is from Kaduna and was formerly the Governor of the State, General Buhari on the other hand is from Katsina, but lives in Kaduna. Interestingly, the General would be clocking 70, on December 17, 2012, so that means a double-pronged celebration for the family. 

We wish them well. Just as we were about publishing this post, we just heard that General Buhari's first daughter, Zulai 40, has passed on. She died on Thursday, November 29, 2012 after delivering a baby at the Nasara Hospital, Marafa Estate in Kaduna. She left behind her new born baby girl and 2 other kids- Amira & Mohammed. May the Soul of the dearly departed rest in peace. We don't now know, if this would affect the dates of the upcoming wedding ceremony.

Things are definitely on the upward swing for this our young, tall and very stylish dude. That he is blessed with cash is not a new story, the highly connected young man in his very early 30's (if things had work well, he would have gotten married to the gorgeous daughter of Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, the former Governor of Abia State, who we hear is his Godfather). He seems to have his fingers in many pies and all seem to be bringing home the money. One of his business ventures known by all is oil & gas firm, which definitely must be the cash cow.

According to our recent findings, Chima come December 1, 2012, would be opening his new baby, a new business venture that we hear is very close to his heart. The name of the new baby is Le Paris, it is an 18 luxury suite, boutique hotel located at Babatunde Dabiri street, Lekki Phase 1.  From our little findings, we hear he didn't spare expenses at all to make the place a stand-out one.

Curiously, hotels and clubs/joints seems to be the new money making venture, the very liquid are opening every where nowadays. We hear Hotels, especially the boutique ones, are like home away from home, where people can have their 'clandestine' fun without anyone nosing around. While with clubs/joints raking in on the average 2 to 5 Million or much more on a good night, why not?

DR WALE BABALAKIN'S DILEMMA- THE SAGA CONTINUES

Just like they had threatened to do, the EFCC has gone ahead to file charges against Dr Wale Babalakin and 4 others for allegedly helping to  launder about 3.4 Billion Naira for the disgraced former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, who is currently in jail in London, through Mauritius. 

The whopping amount was earmarked for the purchase of a Challenger aircraft. Those charged with the brilliant lawyer are Alex Okoh, Dr Babalakin's company Bi-Courtney Ltd, Stabilini Visinoni Ltd, another company where Dr Babalakin is a director and Renix Nigeria Ltd. 

In all 27 count charges were filed against the 5, at the High Court of Lagos, Ikeja Division. Their arraignment in court would be coming up later.  According to report, there is the risk of a 5 years jail term for the accused if convicted of the offense.

DR.WALE BABALAKIN'S DILEMMA

First the Federal Government tore his Bi-Coutney Consortium contracts to shreds. The company had been awarded the concession of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway since 2009. That's about 4 years ago, but apparently since nothing whatsoever had been done prior to the termination of the concession, the Federal Government had to move in for the good of all. 

Now after that unfinished business, with both sides threatening to meet in court to iron out issues etc. Same concession was immediately awarded to Julius Berger and R.C. C. Nigeria Limited, who are to commence work immediately. While the dusts on that contract imbroglio is yet to settle, Dr. Wale Babalakin, is having to fight another battle on another front. This time around, with the EFCC(Economic and Financial Crimes Commission) over a 2 Billion loot said to belong to the now disgraced ex-Governor of Delta State, James Onanefe Ibori.

Though, the lawyer and very influential businessman is said to have declared his innocence, we hear that the EFCC might be arranging to file charges against him, since they suspect that the said money was supposedly laundered through one of his companies. 

While some are of the feeling that the allegations should be investigated very well and the necessary things to be done. Some are of the feeling that Dr. Wale Babalakin might have fallen out with some people and this might be the reason(s) he is facing his present dilemma.

PRESIDENT JONATHAN LOSES BROTHER ON BIRTHDAY

A brother of the President of Nigeria-Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikwe Jonathan  is said to have passed on this morning Tuesday, November 20, 2012. Mr Nemi Jonathan, reportedly gave up the ghost in the President's home state on his brother, the President's 55th birthday. 

The President is presently in Turkey, where he his attending a session of the D-8(the Developing 8 countries).

We say happy birthday to the President, while also commiserating with him and his family on their loss.

UPDATE ON TOYIN HAMZAT'S DEATH

The dastardly way this former LGA Chairman & later Special adviser to Governors- Bola Ahmed Tinubu & Babatunde Fashola was assassinated is still sending shock waves to everyone's bone marrow. What could he have done, to warrant such. What kind of business could he have been involved with, that would now make someone to give a verdict of death is still one of the questions on the mind of people that many are waiting with bated breath to get answers to.

According to reports, the deceased was on his way from Sagamu Town Club to his country home also in Sagamu, when his car was crossed by a taxi and some unknown men got down and shot him to death point blank, his assassins were said to have left without taking anything. In the car with him at the time of sad occurrence, was his nephew.

In the aftermath of his death, about 5 people are said to have been arrested. He was apparently shot in front of his female friend's house, who is married. So those arrested so far, are the female friend & her husband who is said to be the chairman of a vigilante group, and 3 taxi drivers. The 5 are already assisting the police in Ogun state with their investigations. One other person said to have been arrested is the man alleged to have pulled the trigger and shot the man on the head. He was said to have survived many other attempts on his life, prior to this one that eventually took his life.

Alhaji Oluwatoyin Hamzat, described by the Governor of Lagos as a man of peace, has since been buried according to Islamic rites, May his soul rest in peace.

TOYIN HAMZAT SHOT DEAD

Former Ikeja LGA chairman, Mr, Toyin Hamzat, who was also a former special adviser to the Governor on Health, was shot dead last night in Sagamu, Ogun state by unknown gunmen. Time of the untimely death was said to have been around 9PM. 

May his soul rest in peace.

EMINENT JURIST, RETIRED JUSTICE KAYODE ESO HAS PASSED ON

Ilesa born, eminent jurist Justice Kayode Eso (Retired) has passed on at the age of 87. Known & acclaimed by many to be incorruptible, the sad event occured today at a London hospital at about 5AM this morning at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Helen Eso and kids and many grand-children. May his soul rest in peace.

According to feelers we are getting though not fully confirmed, he is most likely to begin his journey back home to Nigeria from  London, UK sometime next week. 

Born on September 18, 1925, in Ilesa, Osun State. He got his law degree at the prestigious Trinity College, Dublin and a Masters from the same institution .
