WHEN CARTIER CAME CALLING & THE QUEEN'S VISIT

Top executives of the famous French jeweler & watchmaker-Cartier S.A.-Mr. Bruno Carraz & Vincent Decoopman were recently in the country- Lagos & Abuja, Nigeria and they were hosted by one of Nigeria's top Lifestyle & Luxury Brand, Polo Limited. A major part of the visit was to officially endorse Polo Limited as one of their partners in Africa and the only one as at now in Nigeria.

With this visit and subsequent stamp of approval from the great House of Cartier (Jeweler of Kings and King of Jewelers), which is known all over the world as one of the few preferred, very high class jeweler and Watchmaker of choice to the very wealthy, powerful and the highly influential people in the society,(in fact the company has a long history of serving Royalty, as well as stars & celebrities) this increases the reputation of Polo Limited as the Number 1 Luxury Company of choice for the very well-heeled in Nigeria (This won’t be the first endorsement by a reputable brand, Polo Limited is also the official agent for such brands like Rolex, Hublot, Montblanc, just to mention a few) . According to the Cartier Executives, during their visit, they were able to access one on one, the expertise and manpower provided by Polo Limited and from their unbiased assessment, they found that Polo Ltd. can match any of the same kind in other parts of the world, so with this relationship, Polo Limited are entitled to Cartier S.A. of France’s technical support and all the experience they have been able to garner all of 165 years.

So for all lovers of Cartier Watches in Nigeria, they should be assured of top notch services and expertise at Polo Limited from henceforth. The visit of the executives also coincided with the presentation of a fabulous Cartier Watch reputed to cost like a Million to the reigning Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria- Miss Isabella Agbor Ayuk. It was a very beautiful occasion, as the Chairman/CEO of Polo Limited- Mr. John Obayuwana, assisted by the Executive Director of the company Miss. Jennifer Obayuwana and the 2 visiting guests presented the watch to the Queen, who immediately unwrapped her gift pack with glee and subsequently wore her gift to the admiration of all. Thereafter, there was a light lunch at the Polo Showroom to celebrate the Cartier Executives visit and that of the current MBGN.

2 of those who attended the event were Ene Maya Lawani, former Miss Nigeria 2004 and the longest ever reigning queen in Nigeria (all of 6 years) and the publisher of the eponymously named online lifestyle platform (onobello.com) Ono Bello.

HOUSE OF NWOCHA'S FALL 2012 LOOKBOOK-YOSHINAKA: THE WARRIOR PRINCESS;

The House of Nwocha Fall collection is the story of strong women of old from the Far East, Asia.

Yoshinaka was a warrior woman, who was exceptionally beautiful and had charming features. She was a remarkably strong archer and being a swords woman, she was able to confront anything on foot and horse back. She performed more deeds of valor than any other warrior of her time.

House of Nwocha presents Yoshinaka in modern times. A strong almost gothic woman, not afraid of her body and its magic. Our use of soft black velvet, black spiral french lace, feathers, and a rich golden french sequence lace tells a cohesive fall story. This collection also features spiked mini dresses, long evening dresses, bootleg cut trousers, cropped tops, swords and gold accessories to match.

House of Nwocha says thank you for your support.

OBAMA COVERS JULY EDITION OF ESSENCE MAGAZINE

We are waiting for the day and we are sure it would be an exciting one at that. When we would see the President of Nigeria and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on the cover of either Genevieve Magazine or TW Magazine or Complete Fashion Magazine etc. Not necessarily the covers of the hard-sell journals, which is normal.

But we doubt that it might happen, especially with the way things are going now. It might be a hard-sell. But nothing is impossible, like they say 'Never say, Never'.

WHO IS THE QUEEN OF ASSETS? COCO AUSTIN VS. KIM KARDASHIAN

It's the battle of the assets, another type of thrilla in Manila, only that this battle is on the beach. And the 2 combatants are well packaged, having all the right weapons or better still having a full armory, with all the right weapons in the right places.

The combatants do not need any intro at all, they are very well known to all. On one side is the pneumatically enhanced, gorgeous wife of ex-OG (Original Gangsta) retired rapper & actor Ice T, Coco is a top glamour model in her own right and an entrepreneur. Kim K on the other hand needs no introduction whatsoever, she's from the famous Kardashian family, who is into several things and is the current flame of mega-star- Kanye West.

Both were seen recently at the arena, in their full battle-gear (2-piece swimsuit) ready for war. Known for their well-packaged bodies, we just thought to do a comparison. Who do you all think is the queen of the assets, in your consideration please look out for how proportionate to the whole, those assets are. Whose swim-wear slammed it?

COCO A
Over to you all.

OLD QUEEN & THE NEW QUEEN. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS- Who is the real deal?

The are both beauty queens ( Ex-queen & reigning Queen). When we said old, it had nothing to do with the age; it’s just to denote how long ago it was that she reigned supreme as Miss Nigeria. Ene Maya Lawani, is unarguably the beauty Queen with the longest reign in the history of beauty pageants in Nigeria, all of 6 years-(2004 to 2010) as Miss Nigeria. Truth be said, true beauty only gets better as the day passes, just like old wine, it gets better with age. Ene is still in her 20's and she still gorgeous.

Isabella Agbor Ayuk on the hand, is the reigning Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2012, she won the crown at a keenly contested event in Benin, Edo State a few weeks ago, it was the 25th anniversary edition of the Silverbird organised competition, and she represented Cross-River. According to reports, she is a veteran at doing beauty pageants. Having won the Queen of the South-South, Nigeria crown in 2007, Miss Global International crown in 2009, before she  became the MBGN this year-2012. Some have even speculated she contested at the 2004 edition of the Miss Nigeria competition. This unproven assertion she has vehemently denied.

While Ene is from Benue State, Isabella is proudly Cross-Riverian, she was recently hosted by her home state Governor- Liyel Imoke a few days ago. Both are tall girls, light in complexion and with gorgeous body shapes, by that we mean well-endowed in all the right places.

We have known Ene over the years to be very stylish with her tall frame always in the gorgeous attires, assesorizing with very nice shoes and bags, looking gloriously elegant. Isabella on the hand has only just come into our consciousness of recent, but we have seen a Louboutin here and there and she seems to favour the simple and classic.

Using just these pictures taken at a recent occasion, which of the queens (old or new) do you all think, is the real deal? Beauty wise, style wise etc.?

OOOO WHAT A SAD DAY, WHAT A BLACK SUNDAY! SALUTE TO YOU ALL THAT WE LOST

Sunday, June 3, 2012 would not be forgotten in a hurry, by all. It was the day at sometime after 3PM that the ill-fated Dana Airline flight from Abuja enroute Lagos crashed just 11 Nautical Miles from its destination- the MM2, Lagos. Onboard the flight was a hundred and fifty-three Nigerians and some other Nationalities, who if they had being told what would happen to the flight, would not have taken it.

All the lives on board perished, with more numbers on the ground that has not been ascertained for a fact. What an irreparable loss! At least from the estimations of the authorities not less than a hundred and sixty lives have been sent prematurely to the great beyond.. The pain is much, the anguish is terrible and the loss unbelievable, a hundred and sixty lives just like that! Many thousands and hundreds of thousands and by extension millions have being touched by this terrible loss. How can one console the friends, family members (Moms, Dads, Wives, Husbands, Kids, Girlfriends Boy-friends, Siblings and Cousins etc), co-workers of the dead ones?

At times like this, one is always short of words, because there is really nothing that one can say, that can help to take the pain away. How do you explain to anyone the loss of a whole family? Father, wife and 3 kids, plus the wife was pregnant with the fourth one and her mother was also on the flight. How do you explain to a father or a mother, the loss of their brilliant son or daughter, how would one console a little girl or boy, who would not see either of his or her parents again? What can be done now at this time of great need for the bereaved?

So life is this fleeting, here now and gone forever, never to be seen again, except in the memories of the loved ones. Why, Why, Why?

To all who have lost a loved one, we can only commiserate with you, we feel and share your pain; we pray that the Almighty in His infinite mercy would console you all. We cannot explain why it happened, we are only mere mortals, and there are some deep things that are beyond our comprehension.

We pray that God would give you all, the strength to bear the irreparable loss. Though we know personally, some of those who have gone on to be with the Lord, we would not single out anyone particularly. We pray that God would grant you all eternal rest.

In all things, either in Life or in Death, we give God the glory. We have being blessed by the words of a particular song titled- Great is Thy Faithfulness written many many decades ago by Thomas O. Chisholm (1866-1960), we hope and pray that the words would soothe the spirits of all at this time-

Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
there is no shadow of turning with thee;
thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
as thou hast been thou forever will be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
all I have needed thy hand hath provided;
great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside! Refrain

May your SOULS REST IN PEACE

ROCK CHIC!!!! WHO SNAGS IT?

Style like we all know is defined by the individual. Yes we all understand that there are general rules on decorum, so that people would not turn liberty on its head and decide to go around naked or half-nude in the name of fashion or style.

There are some however, who seems to have a special understanding of style and at all times, are always the epitome of sophistication, elegance, class and savoir faire. No one would ever say a peek of sexiness is wrong, a little flash of the cleavage, the nice show of very sexy curves, very seductively done make-up etc, are some of those things we count to be tantalizing.

Today, we have on our showcase 2 people. We saw one of them at the Arise Fashion Week 2012, in Lagos, Nigeria. The other is the very well known sexy socialite/celeb- Amber Rose. Say whatever you wanna say, we just have to accept the fact that, she is sexy and gorgeous, and seem to know what it takes to always get the attention.

Our Lagos chick (young lady) in our opinion really rocked her outfit, we love the glittering jacket worn over a black camisole and that peekaboo leggings, with those gorgeous details on the sides, which to us is a stunner any day, she finished it off with a pair of very gorgeous black Christian Louboutin pumps. On the other hand, the ever delicious Amber Rose, had on a bright green Atzec jacket, inside the jacket was a black top, and the one that tops the whole outfit, was her leggings, which had fishnet details and large-holes running down the sides from her bum down to her ankles, to finish up the style she now wore a pair of neon yellow, Christian Louboutin pumps. The color of Amber’s shoes is one of the colors of the season.

Who between these 2, do you all think did the look more justice? Lagos Chick or Amber Rose?

SUSAN PETERS CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY AT THE MOTHERLESS HOME

Award winning actress/ model and UN Ambassador- Susan Peters a few days ago added a year. So instead of having a mere merry-making, she thought the best way to celebrate was to have a party with the Motherless. Invitations were sent out via her Benue Pikin Foundation to many- friends, Nollywood colleagues, family members etc.

Many who couldn't make it, made sure their presence was felt as they donated many things they thought the children needed, many who could, came to interact with the kids, while celebrating their good friend- Susan.

It was an emotional occasion, as many were mesmerized by how intelligent and cute the kids at the home were, it was obvious to all, that were well loved and were being well taken care of. A few of Susan's many Nollywood colleagues were in attendance we saw Desmond Elliot, Ufuoma Ejenobor, Halima Abubakar, Thelma Okorie, Monalisa Chinda, Ifeoma Okeke, Joy Egbunnu, Gloria Mba & Nadia Buari the gorgeous Ghollywood star, also in attendance were Nigeria's King of comedy Ali Baba and his gorgeous wife- Mary Akpobome, comedian Jedi, Lisa Walsh, Latasha Ngwube, Layole Oyatogun and a few others. According to the coordinator of the home, this particular donation from Susan Peters is the single largest by any individual in a long time. We are hoping many other celebs, stars and other people would take a cue from this kind gesture, and would also extend the hands of love, to these kids. Also, it’s not just about going to the home to ‘dump’ gifts, time spent with the kids is even of more importance. To further buttress the point, we would like everyone to read the following- Matthew 25:36 to 38, Ezekiel 18:7, Isaiah 58:7, James 1:27 & Hebrews 13:3.

We hear the other main party is happening this weekend at most probably Auto Lounge, Victoria Island and you can be sure there would be a much larger turn-out.

We would love to say a very Happy birthday again to Susan.
