DON JAZZY TRULY A DON WHO DESERVES OUR ACCOLADES

Don Jazzy

The 10 (3.5kva) Generators

The laptop

In the last one week the head honcho at Mavin Records, the one and only and in fact the incredible Don Jazzy has been extending his good fortune, the hands of Grace, the way of many Nigerians.

We came across his kind gesture to fans and have thought that this is the kind of very important thing that needs to be made loud, so others in far more better positions can see what it is like to contribute to the betterment of others around them, not necessarily those you know from anywhere at all.

And from what we heard, being his brothers keeper is a normal thing that he is used to doing. Such good deeds are like a cup of tea to him that he does very often without batting an eye. So this time around he had asked that those who needed something to help with what they do should send in a picture of the particular things in #with50k and those who knew that when the Don ask for such a thing, he doesn't joke around and wants to pour down the rain, heeded his call quickly.

And just like that computer, camera and (generators 3.5 litre) at least 10 of such generators exchanged hands. Not less than 20 people were part of the enviable largesse!

This is undeniable how to be wealthy. Not stockpiling unnecessary cars around to show off and to intimidate and harass people and then not helping souls around you.

WHEN ACCESS BANK TOOK OVER LONDON AT THE WEEKEND

Asa

Senator Florence Ita-Giwa

Group MD, Herbert Wigwe, former AIG Imoukhuede

Herbert & AIG with the Emir of Kano

Seem like they are not just only relevant in Nigeria, but they are in a steady climb to take over the world as the "premium/premiere banking institution" in Nigeria. After their merger with Diamond Bank which before the merger was one of the top Nigerian banks, the new entity that emerged from the merger and that is still referred to as Access Bank h, still under the able stewardship of Herbert Wigwe, their Group MD have since become probably Nigeria's biggest and number 1 banking institution bar none and they are still climbing.

The goodness of the season has even touched or extended to their UK, London subsidiary too as well, as they recently too, declared some good profit for the year ended. So it's not just only about trailblazing as per expansion and profitability in Nigeria, they are also big-big when it comes to CSR, by that we believe you all know that that means "corporate social responsibility".

So their annual charity train moved again to London like they normally do every year. It is the annual "Access Polo Tournament" which they do in conjunction or in collaboration with Fifth Chukker. This beautiful relationship is a charity event aimed at helping to raise funds annually towards raising fund in partnership with Unicef Nigeria for education projects in the North to build and equip 70 new classrooms.

The annual event has become a must visit or better still must be a part of for Nigerians both at home and abroad. This year's multi-days event was another exciting one as expected and those who attended were in their summery best, with both the current Group MD, Herbert Wigwe and the former GMD, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede looking super dapper over the 2 days. The Emir of Kano, who who knew to be a dapper and stylish prince before he became a Royal father, showed that even in his full traditional royal garb, he still knows what's up as he dazzled in his Christian Louboutin spike shoes. Amechi Okobi and many others who were in attendance like Yutee Rone, Adrianna Sarz, Linda Ikeji, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa and very many others, all looked like fine or should we say pretty peacocks in dazzling array.

The incomparable Asa was on the bandstand to dazzle all comers as the guests over 2 days enjoyed the best of the game of kings.

See their pictures.

More after the break.

FREDA FRANCIS's OASIS MED SPA & RED CROSS CONNECTS FOR CHRISTMAS TO REMEMBER THE LESS PRIVILEGED !

It's not only about making all the money and living in opulence and pleasure alone, for self made lady of great worth/means and owner/promoter of "Oasis MedSpa on Cameron road, Ikoyi, Lagos, which is one of the best Spas in Lagos, Nigeria, but it's also about remembering the less privileged and blessing them also, especially at such a season like this, which is Christmas period (Yuletide season)!

The top fashionista's brand Oasis MedSpa and world international organisation, The Nigerian Red Cross Society, have collaborated to show love and put a good smile on the faces of many just before Xmas from Friday the 15th of December to Tuesday the 19th of the same month.

For a 50% discount on all treatments at the spa, people can drop off their old clothes, toys and foodstuffs for the Red Cross.

We consider the collaboration above a good deed that's worth emulating by all others and many brands. Reason being that if she and her brand refuses to do anything, nothing would have happened to her and her brand, but to endeavour to be relevant in such a good way, the mother of one has put her money where her mouth is.

Kudos!

OUT & ABOUT AT OSAS IGHODARO JOYFUL JOY FOUNDATION LAGOS LAUNCH

OSAS IGHODARO
MAJID MICHEL, OSAS IGHODARO & BANKY W

Ex-Miss Black USA 2010, the ever delicious looking & gloriously stylish Osas Ighodaro launched her foundation called Joyful Joy Foundation at the weekend. Sunday, October 27, 2013 to be more precise at the Avenue Suites on Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island, Lagos. It's that hotel with the breath taking view of the Bar Beach.

Like you all already know, the foundation was created to immortalize Osas sister, Joy who while pregnant a few years ago had visited Nigeria, but alas had caught malaria, complications of which led to her untimely demise with her yet unborn baby. Such sad tale.

The foundation main thrust is to help bring awareness towards the good fight against Malaria. Celebrities, stars & socialites alike all came to the venue to show support for a good cause. The event began with the magnificent rendition of the National Anthem, by a would be national treasure in the person of the sonorously blessed Seyi Shay. That seem that set the tune for the event, comedy was by Elenu, who as usual gave a great account of himself. Included as part of the event was dance by Gongbeat Production. Thereafter the thoughtfully crafted Joyful Joy Foundation theme song , which was produced by Tee Y Mix was sweetly delivered by Ella. The day's deejay was DJ Xclusive.

The Joyful Joy Foundation is all about spreading Joy and touching lives, one community at a time.

Some of those seen at the event were the likes of Majid Michel, Banky W, Ice Prince Zamani, Seyi Shay, Toolz Oniru and many others.

Joyful Joy Foundation Launches in Lagos Nigeria! on SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2013

Slightly beyond a year after launching in the United States, the Joyful Joy Foundation is set to launch here in Nigeria.

Founded in 2012 by Osas Ighodaro and Co-founder Sioux Greaux, Joyful Joy supports the push for a healthier and Malaria-free Africa.  Its alleviation strategy to positively impact communities involves offering programs focused on health and wellness, ending hunger, preventable disease and providing economic development opportunities.

The Joyful Joy Foundation is an NGO registered in both the US and Nigeria.  It was founded in honor of Joy Ighodaro, sister to Osas Ighodaro, who was with child and contracted malaria during a trip to Nigeria in 2006. At the time, there was little awareness on early diagnosis and tragically two lives vanished. Osas became very passionate and pro-active with elevating the platform of malaria eradication and dedicates much of her time and energy towards awareness initiatives and fundraising.
A trip to Nigeria in 2011 opened Osas' eyes to the plight of those living in distressed communities.  It was then, along with Sioux Greaux that a pledge was made to create Joyful Joy, to honor the lives of those gone too soon and to Spread More Joy into the lives of those who need it most. No one should have to bury a loved one because of a disease that is treatable and preventable. None should have to go without food and the basic necessities to live a healthy life.
Joyful Joy Foundation is set to launch in Nigeria on Sunday, October 27,  2013 at the Avenue Suites, Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island Lagos.

This event will be hosted by Gbenro Ajibade from Tinsel and Vimbai Mutinhiri of Africa Magic's StarGist.  The event will also feature performances from Tee Y Mix, Former Project Fame contestant Ella, Irawo crooner Seyi Shay, Comedian Elenu, and an amazing African Dance by GongBeat Productions. Music will be provided by the prolific D.J Xclusive.
The Joyful Joy Foundation is anchored in a push to Spread More Joy, Healthy Living and Giving Back to Communities. Support this worthy cause today!

OSAS IGHODALO JOYFUL JOY FOUNDATION's HEALTH & WELLNESS WORKSHOP & PHOTO SHOOT

Not only is Osas Ighodaro, the ex-Miss Black USA 2010 beautiful, she's also got a good heart to finish up the package. The gorgeous one at the weekend, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Campus Square, Lagos Island used her star quality to help focus attention on some health issues dear to her through her JJF Give-Back Experience Health & Wellness Workshop. It was a collaboration between the JJF & Society of Family Health. There was a special music performance by JJC.

According to what we have heard, the beautiful actress & ex-beauty queen established the Joyfuy Joy Foundation, named after her late sister Joy Ighodaro, who whilst pregnant had contracted Malaria fever while on a short visit to Nigeria. Sadly Joy & her unborn baby later died. The untimely loss apparently galvanized Osas to set up the foundation.

The health and wellness workshop one of which held on Saturday, aims at offering discussions on health related topics by notable healthcare professionals and provide current health information, teach skills necessary to adopt healthy lifestyle behaviors, and connect participants with appropriate resources. Participants will also receive wonderful parting gifts. Also free Malaria & HIV testing on site.

If more stars/celebs would take up such initiatives like this, what a wonderful world it just be.

Check out the event poster & Osas newly released stunning photos.

JOHN DUMELO FOUNDATION'S SEXY CAR WASH FUND RAISING

SHARON REKANA OJONG, JOHN DUMELO & MUNACHI ABII

SHARON & MUNA

We had a glorious time in Accra, Ghana for about 5 days last week, we had gone to the Ghanaian capital as part of the media team invited for the Ghana Fashion & Design Week 2013 held at the Movenpick Hotel, Accra, Ghana.

That we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Accra, would be an understatement, we would go back many times over to relive the fun experience, a total change from the Lagos scene, where everyone is so puffed up and acting like they are God and where they expect everyone to pander to their shenanigans that has become terribly boring.

One of those events that we went to was the John Dumelo Sexy Car Wash Fund Raising for his foundation at the Cahaya Lounge & car wash, located right in front of the house of the former Ghanaian President, His Excellency, Flight Lieutenant (rtd) Jerry John Rawlings.

Just like the sexy suggested those doing the car wash were sexy girls and they came out in numbers, looking very good for the eye (eye candies) in their form fitting outfits showing off their feminine silhouettes to the admiration of all, even the Ghanaian star actor, John Dumelo whose foundation was to benefit from the fund raising, was very present himself washing the various machines that came to be a part of the car wash benefit; we saw a Porsche Panamera 4S, a Rolls Royce Phantom, various humongously beautiful  BMW cars, a couple of SUVs, Mercedes Benzes,  Range Rovers and some other normal cars. The idea basically is to use the car wash benefit to raise money for John's foundation, car owners were free to donate any amount they felt was okay.  And since the car washers were ladies and they were the ones going around to collect the donations and with the great number of guys that came, the guys donated and donated a great deal.

One of the major highlights of the evening apart from the deejay churning out hits after hits, men!!! Ghanaians love Naija jams ooooo and the ladies dancing excitedly while washing the cars, the biker club also added drama to the event when they showed up with not less then 8 riders showing off their riding skills while at top speed and burning rubber to the admiration of all.

Though the show-off had to be cut short because the joint was right in front of Rawlings home and everyone had to show discipline, it wouldn't have been nice to disturb the peace of the elder statesman.

Some of those we saw were the likes of former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2007, Munachi Abii, the CEO of d.e.ev.a.s Sharon Rekana Ojong, the creative director of TIR Fashion House & entrepreneur Danielle Allen, photographer extraordinaire & artiste manager Paul Ukonu, Ghanaian hunk and top actor John Dumelo and many others.

All in all, it was a fun night of boozing, backslapping and good show off. We got a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!!!

AISHA BABANGIDA SET TO RELAUNCH BETTER LIFE FOR RURAL WOMEN

Is the eldest child and 1st daughter of former Military President of Nigeria & self-styled evil genius, General IB Babangida gearing up for elections in the near future? Or is it that the gorgeous twice married one wants to forever immortalize her mom's name through the pet project that used to be so close to her hearts?

Either or not, we hear that Aisha Babangida has decided to resurrect and resuscitate her late beloved mom's pet project, the Better Life For Rural Women Project. The project that was launched in most states of the Federation when the late Maryam Babangida's husband was still in power, was initiated to help mitigate the sufferings of the less privileged in the society then.

Knowing fully well the power of charity, it might be the opportunity for the former first daughter and 1st lady to get into the hearts of the less privilege and therefore get their support when the time comes.

Date for the relaunch has not been fixed or revealed, but as soon as we hear anything or get an update, we would bring it to our readers purview.

LINDA GODWIN NEEDS YOUR HELP!!!! & URGENTLY SO TOO MAESTROMEDIA PLEA FOR HELP!!!!

LINDA GODWIN- SEE HOW THE THING HAS AFFECTED HER HANDS

The lady whose picture you see above is Linda and she needs your help. The beautiful young lady of just 24 years old, from Imo State is a BREAST cancer patient that is suffering excruciating pain as we speak.

Her case was detected last year (2012). She had detected a lump and had gone for a scan only to have been told it was a cyst that was none malignant and she was given drugs to deal with the situation. Instead of the situation to be remedied, it only got terribly worse and from her own explanations to us, the breast got worse to the extent it had got rotten and  at a point fell off.

After her initial treatment at Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) which didn't help matters, she had resorted to 'Native treatment' thinking that could arrest the rot or better still the situation. All to no avail. Her right breast is gone now and the left is in need of urgent treatment.

Now she's back to LUTH for treatment and is presently undergoing chemotherapy. Funds is very limited and they have tried as much as possible already. The sad thing is that, the other breast (left one) is also already feeling the pinch, like she said when we spoke with her, they have already found lymph nodes on her other armpit. So our plea is for HELP!

Linda needs your urgent help, you can be the hands of God to help save her or at least prolong her existence. A stitch in time they say saves nine. Please! Please!! Please!!! Your help is much needed.

For now we hear she needs about 2 Million plus. Her contact details are as follows- Phone nos- 08171334776. Contact address is 11, Odofin Street, off Idowu Street, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, Nigeria.

THE CAR AFTER OUR HEART- THE CAVALLI DESIGNED MINI PACEMAN

We have always been fascinated by the Morris Cooper or Mini Cooper and now our love for that small but powerful car has increased a notch. A 4-door version of the beautifully cute car goes for #8 Million Naira in Nigeria.

Now a 2-door model of the car, the Mini Paceman designed by world acclaimed designer-Roberto Cavalli is tripping us to high-heavens. The one off car is a statement in class. It changes colour from Black to Brown depending on the side/angle you are looking at it from.

And the inside is a statement in opulence, adorned in quilted leather including the steering and finished with gold trimmings. It was sold at a charity for £128,000/E150,000.

A trip, don't you just think.

His flag design was accepted amongst other designs, for its ingenuity and depth. This undeniably shot Pa Akinkunmi into limelight and enlisted him amongst Nigeria’s heroes and icons.

Now, Pa Taiwo Akinkunmi, a man whose ingenious work of creativity we still enjoy each time we gaze at the Nigerian flag, coupled with Parkinson’s disease, lives in an un-befitting state in his Ibadan residence.

A group of young, impact- oriented minds under the cover of GNext Youth Organization have taken it upon themselves to give this great icon’s home a complete makeover.

BE AN ANGEL.LET US ALL HELP SAVE A LIFE!

She was one of those that helped in no small way to add laughter to the lives of many. Remember her hilarious role in the comedy series ''Fuji house of commotion''. She was very prominent in Nollywood, when her health could still permit then. Holding down many roles, that she interpreted so very well.

Now the one who used to be up and about is very ill, so much so that our collective help is needed. Perhaps, our little contributions here and there can be of help, and that help is needed most urgently.
In all, we hear that about 6 million Naira would do it. So just like you all did before, let's shower on this soul, that same milk of human kindness. ALL WE ASK FOR YOU TO DO IS DONATE, YOUR WIDOWS MITE. Collectively we all can make a change. It's a human life that's involved here, it might be a contribution towards your own future too.

Let's all gather to SAVE NGOZI NWOSU.  We hear her health situation is Kidney & heart related.  Account details for donation is as follows- NGOZI NWOSU, Gtbank, account number-0052851673.

THE CHILDREN LIVING WITH CANCER FOUNDATION WALKATHON

Just in case you do not know yet, we are hoping that this post would help to bring awareness to something a lot of people do not know or are not quite aware of yet. It is that little kids, young growing ones can also have cancer. In fact many are living with it and there are some who have taken up the task to let others know. The reason for the awareness campaign is so that we all can help to contribute towards helping these young ones live a normal life as good as possible.

Love is the hallmark of every religion from what we have come to know. And that love expands to us loving our neighbours just like ourselves. So if we would share the little love in our heart, we would contribute towards the well-being our some amongst us, young kids for that matter who needs our help.

September is the Childhood cancer awareness month. Gold has been chosen as the colour for Childhood cancer awareness. By that we mean Gold is the new Pink. Pink is the colour for breast cancer awareness. The idea is to try to make Gold as popular as Pink, so that people would know that children too do and can get cancer, learn the early detecting signs and symptoms, so they can go for treatments on time.

There is a need to ''RAISE FUNDS'' which would go towards buying the required equipment for treatments. The most urgent need right now being a COLD CENTRIFUGE for LUTH. This machine helps to separate blood into its different component-White Blood Cells, Red Blood Cells and Platelets. We hear that some of the Children on treatment bleed into their brain and die because they have Low platelets which stop bleeding.

The appeal mainly is that we need a Cold Centrifuge and we know that individuals or corporate organizations can help. So SHOW LOVE TO THE CHILDREN LIVING WITH CANCER. HELP A LIFE TODAY.
