Aminu Babangida is the younger sibling of the Polo loving Mohammed Babangida, who is the former military despot IBB's heir apparent.

He is known to be very quiet and one who avoids any type of unnecessary attention whatsoever. Even at going towards 40, he has remained single and therefore a most eligible Nigerian bachelor. Many single ladies of all colouration and physique have done their best to make him their big catch, but till date none has been lucky enough to capture him for keeps.

The well read somewhat recluse of a dude, who part manages a few of his dad's vast investments and is the Co-Founder of Phoenix Energy Abuja, has just become the Executive Chairman of one of Nigeria's financial institutions, Unity Bank PLC. This elevation was recently approved by the Apex Bank and announced.

Many have speculated over the years that the Babangida's like Chief Obasanjo have substantial interest in Unity Bank, where a known associate of the Babangida's in the person of Hajia Bola Shagaya was also a member of the Board of Directors at a time. At a point the elder Mohammed Babangida was also a Director of the same bank, but he might have relinquished the position for his much younger brother Aminu.

Why the well read Aminu- (he holds an BA in International Business, an MA in International Business Management, from Regents Business School London, and also from Westminster Business School London), has not taken a dashing young lady down the aisle has become very baffling. Maybe he is scared of the kind of experiences his elder ones, likes of Mohammed and Aisha have had to undergo with that institution in the past. Both Mohammed and Aisha have had some very unpalatable experiences in the past that might have scared their brother from making commitment with a very lucky damsel.

But even if marriage has not entered yet into the book of Aminu, it hasn't in anyway affected taking major strides in business. One of those major strides is this his new appointment as the Executive Chairman of one of Nigeria's Banks.

So congratulations to the new executive Chairman of Unity Bank PLC.

The question above we believe needs some kind of answers. The once very bubbly ex-military President of Nigeria has since become a main shadow of his former self now. Long gone is that super healthy glow for which the handsome man was very well known for, that has now been replaced with with a much sunken cheeks, and some form of paleness which is an evidence of his inner wellbeing. Even to the extent that he moves around with walking sticks.

A much more older General and his former boss, in the person of General Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Obasanjo is still gallivanting around with much vigor in his steps, not necessarily showing his age, so whatever is ongoing with retired General IBB, it must be seriously debilitating.

We once read a prediction or so called prophecy, by an American based Nigerian prophet about a year or so ago, who claims that 2019 (a year the prophet claims IBB cannot go pass), would most definitely be a monumental year in the life and existence, of the self acclaimed evil genius, also better known as the Maradona, majorly because of his dribbling ability, which is based on his antecedence at changing his words at will.

But even with the fact, that he seem somewhat emaciated and not in the best of health, he still controls an unbelievable cult like followership of men and women of major influence in the country, so much so that when major decisions about the country needs to be taken, he and a few others are still the first to be contacted and consulted.

Most often times body language or looks on the face can translate or transmit whatever is going on in the inner recess of one's heart without one saying any word whatsoever. Looks they say, says a million things.

So just imagine the face of the former first lady above, in the person of Hajia Turai YarAdua, the wife of the late President Umaru YarAdua. Just looking at the face as she sat with Justice Fati Abdulsalam and Dame Patience Jonathan other former first ladies, just evokes in the mind a very distorted mask. It's like she's disgusted with something or somethings and she can't just wait for it to finish so she can just get out.  Why the look? what's going on?

It was like a political jamboree yesterday when the Babangida's hosted the world at their home as HALIMA got wedded to Alhaji Auwal Lawal ABDULAHI, the top notch businessman from Gombe State, who is the Sarkin Sudan Gombe.

Many people who came obviously came to show political alignments and to pass subtle political messages. Imagine that the former President of Nigeria, his excellency, Dr. Goodluck Azikwe Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, came with a high powered entourage that included Dame Peace Jonathan, his lovely wife and many PDP top shots and retired military big wigs, made up of many former Governors etc.

It was an opportunity  to make some subtle statement and people who understood subtle undertones got the message. Imagine that an unprecedented numbers of  aircraft landed in Minna for this wedding, speculated to be at least about 30 plus.

In attendance were such bigwigs like former military leader General AbdulSalam Abubakar, national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governors Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano,  Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, Aminu  Tambuwal of Sokoto, Senate President, Bukola Sarkin, former Vice President, Namadi Sambo, Hajia Turai YarAdua, Justice Fati Abubakar, Amina Sambo, Retired Air Vice Marshall Hamza Abdullahi, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara was also present, Ismaila Funtua, Bola Shagaya, Folorunsho Alakija, Aliko Dangote, Tony Elumelu, Mansur Dan-Ali, Senator Ben Obi, Dino Melaye, Dr Okwezili Nwodo, Abubakar Bwari, Nasir El-Rufai, Ahned AbdulFatai Joseph Anenih,, Ahmed Yayale and very many others too numerous to mention.

Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi as was expected paid the bride price of  N500,000 and 10 cows to his father-in-law, retired General IBB. Retired General Garba Wushishi performed the symbolic ceremony of handing over the bride over, while the Governor of Gombe, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwanbo, received the bride on behalf of the groom.

Special prayers was offered by Sheikh Kabiru Gombe for the new couple.

Mother's night was ably hosted by Aisha.

The Wolima and Kamu went well.

Villages were built as part of the ceremony.

There was all types of music and good etc.

Minna the capital of Niger State is currently agog as the Eagles are converging there presently, those who couldn't land yesterday are already landing this morning. Seen during some parts of the ceremonies last night entering early this morning were the likes of Folorunsho Alakija, Bola Shagaya, Abike Dabiri, Namadi Sambo's wife, Amina Sambo, the Ooni of Ife's wife Olori WuraOla Ogunwusi, Abah Folawiyo and Halti Ali Modu Sheriff, just to mention a few.  

For the super liquid ones, they would be shuttling from wherever that is their bases to Minna and Lagos, as they must be seen at 2 spots, the Babangida's wedding and that of Obasanjo/Adebutu. 

Last night the ceremony began towards the wedding Fatiha between IBB's last born daughter from his late wife Maryam Babangida, by name Halimat to top notch business man, Auwal Lawal Abdullahi. Like already known, 30 plus years old Halima would be entering her husband​'s home as the 3rd wife. 

As expected with Northern Nigerian weddings, it was steeped in their culture and tradition. It was an undeniably colourful cultural night also known as the Mother's night, and it took place with the Kamu and Wolima. It's a tradition that's expected where the bride would be fawned on and celebrated by her peers and other female members of the family. While the Wolima is more of plenty of prayers. The mother's night was hosted by IBB's eldest daughter Aisha, who perfectly represented her mother, the late Maryam Babangida.

AISHA BABANGIDA SET TO RELAUNCH BETTER LIFE FOR RURAL WOMEN

Is the eldest child and 1st daughter of former Military President of Nigeria & self-styled evil genius, General IB Babangida gearing up for elections in the near future? Or is it that the gorgeous twice married one wants to forever immortalize her mom's name through the pet project that used to be so close to her hearts? 


Either or not, we hear that Aisha Babangida has decided to resurrect and resuscitate her late beloved mom's pet project, the Better Life For Rural Women Project. The project that was launched in most states of the Federation when the late Maryam Babangida's husband was still in power, was initiated to help mitigate the sufferings of the less privileged in the society then. 

Knowing fully well the power of charity, it might be the opportunity for the former first daughter and 1st lady to get into the hearts of the less privilege and therefore get their support when the time comes. 

Date for the relaunch has not been fixed or revealed, but as soon as we hear anything or get an update, we would bring it to our readers purview.
