Wow. No one would have thought it could happen in a hundred years., let's not overstretch it to a million years. Senator ADESEYE Ogunlewe, the former minister of works under Chief Olusegun Aremo Obasanjo, who was used to fight Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a standstill then, during the then administration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Executive Governor of Lagos State.

The former Minister of Works then wore the garb of the unrelenting enemy well then and did all that was possible to make a mess of the then Asiwaju administration. It was federal might at its best, with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo an ex-military General as its arrow head against the wiles, maneuverings and wisdom of Asiwaju, who literally adopted guerrilla tactics to outwit both Ogunlewe then and his ear veteran principal, that the only option left to them was the illegality of seizing the money due to the state then, in a protracted stalemate. Both Ogunlewe and Obasanjo didn't care, it was their way or no way at all. So they didn't mind whose ox was gored. They had thought they had a strangle hold of a kind on Lagos then and would soon paralyze governance and those administering it then, but much as they tried, the ingenuity of those running the affairs of Lagos then, likes of Babatunde Raji Fashola, Wale Edun, Lai Mohammed, Muiz Banire, Rauf Aregbesola, Babatunde Fowler and Co, made the FG look like a big bullying fool with excreta spattered over their face in shame at the end of it all.

It is the same Senator Ogunlewe whose son was the first to decamp from the PDP after unsuccessfully trying to win elections into the state house, that has now eaten his vomit and returned back home to the so called progressives from his former conservative enclave that he had moved to. What this says seriously and what it gives credence to, is that truism that 'there are never permanent enemies in politics, only permanent interests'. As long as something is going to pay the personality himself or those very close to him, such a person is ready and willing to discard whatever his ideological leaning might be, to then dine with just about anyone, including the devil itself.

So those inconsequential hangers on that takes up battles not necessarily theirs are the losers at the end of the day or would they also go cap in hand to go beg for relevance too?

So after much denial that he wasn't ever jumping ships, he has done just that and was received into the APC ship by Alhaji Tunde Balogun a chieftain of the Lagos APC & other members of the working committee. Ogunlewe didn't actually jump the ship alone, he came in tow with Moyosore his son and other bigwigs of the main opposition. And if their prediction is anything to go by, then it is likely that with this defection, maybe PDP in Lagos State is now on her death knell. 

UNPRECEDENTED TSUNAMI HITS TAMBUWAL AS 252 AIDES QUIT HIS GOVERNMENT TO RETURN TO THE APC

While he was still basking in the euphoria of his defection from the party that swept him to power as Governor to the PDP, his oversized ego might been deflated when about 252 (Two hundred and Fifty Two) of his aides, said to be made up of his special advisers and special assistants have dumped him like a bad habit and moved back to the party he had just jettisoned!!!!

The aides are said to have claimed they couldn't go join him at his new party, where he had gone to with a massive 18 members of the local assembly. The 18 members included the speaker of the Sokoto assembly, leaving only 12 members remaining in the APC, now in the opposition. With that higher number of assembly members going with him, at least that secured his seat as Governor as he cannot be impeached by a smaller number of the opposition.

Shocking action by the aides???? Too shocking! Maybe the Governor might be regretting his move/action by now as he must feel pretty bad by now, thinking he might have shot himself on the foot and over estimated his own value!

In just the space of just 2 to 3 weeks now he has been taught a big, if not massive lesson by his own people. First was when one of the very big boys in his state and still a chieftain of the APC, in the person of his predecessor, Alhaji Aliyu Wammako when in a show of strength, political value and popularity returned home to a most rousing and unprecedented welcome back to the state, just immediately after Tambuwal had just defected, citing insecurity amongst his several excuses.

Now a whopping 252 of his aides, an unprecedented number at that, have now decided to dump him and move back instead of helping to slodify his position where he had gone to. Alhaji Aminu Waziri Tambuwal is not new at all to moving about like a yoyo though, he had first dumped the PDP then in 2014 while he was still the speaker of the House of Representatives, in a move that shocked the house then and helped to break that back of that PDP then to join the APC, but now just 4 years after that defection, he decided to now defect again from the APC back to the PDP, claiming insecurity, inactivity on the part of the President and the neglect of Sokoto in the scheme of things.

Though the above and several other reasons are his claims to why he had decided to dump the APC, some have however claimed that his claims are not true at all, that the actual fear of irrelevance, especially him not been guaranteed an automatic ticket back and also majorly because of his utmost desire to vie for the President of Nigeria are the actual reasons for him dumping the APC. 

ON AKPABIO'S DEFECTION! THE DIE IS CAST AS HE RESIGNS AS SENATE MINORITY LEADER

From all indications now, it looks for certain that there's no going back on his decision to jump ships no more. It's obvious that the die is already cast. That's talking about the erstwhile Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Many, especially members of the PDP and those he was very close to were still hoping against all hope, that the whole defection affair might have just been a nightmare dream that they were having and that they would soon be jolted out of their deep and uncomfortable slumber to a new day to see that it was all a lie, but alas, the reality check now is that, the former 2 terms Governor of the oil rich Akwa Ibom state, who is said to have done a massive and excellent job while he was  Governor, is most definitely going to dump the PDP come tomorrow!

So towards his move to officially defect at a ceremony planned for tomorrow, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 in his home state of Akwa Ibom, Senator Godswill Akpabio has tended his letter of resignation as the Senate Minority Leader of the House of Assembly in a letter dated, Saturday, August 4, 2018. The resignation letter was addressed to his former deputy, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha and it reads thus-

DR. BUKOLA SARAKI OUTSMARTS THE POLICE TO ENTER THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AND THE TSUNAMI HAS BEGUN.

The Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the Waziri Garin of Ilorin, has shown again the deftness via which he was able to overcome all the shenanigans that was packaged against him all of the past 3 years, by outwitting the blockade set up against him at his residence today by reaching the National Assembly complex to sit and preside over the day's proceedings.

The security agencies comprising of the police and other security apparatik, bungled again like they normally do what was supposed to be their routine agenda for the day, which may have been to keep the Senate President under house arrest at all cost, Maybe because of what they must have heard was planning to take place today, the defection of many Senators from the APC to the PDP.

But the 3rd man of this administration, who is gradually fitting into the personae of the "skilled artful dodger" of that hilarious character in that well known novel Oliver Twist, like the great Houduni well reknowned for his escape art and act, the Waziri Garin of Ilorin just a few hours ago outsmarted all arrayed against him again and arrived gallantly at the National Assembly like a warrior who had escaped an ambush.

According to unconfirmed sources, the Senate President had had an inkling of the plans that awaited him in the morning of today, since yesterday, so he had perfected how he would first evade the plans set for him, while also embarrassing those set to ambush him in the first instance. Part of the plan was to use a decoy that would be seen by all, as the bungling security group set to ambush him would be flexing their might, while he would have effortlessly reached the assembly already.

The aftermath of his manoeuvre was that as soon as he arrived at the Assembly, 15 former members of his APC, led by Alh. Rabiu Kwankwanso, Dino Melaye all defected to the opposition party the PDP. The 15 that defected were Dino Melaye

And just as soon as the defection masterstroke was achieved, the Senate President immediately adjoined all other proceedings till September 2018, effectively shutting down any moves by the APC to counter the move till that latter date. Also following what the upper house did, the lower house also perfected its own Defection, with 37 members in all shifting base to another party, mainly the PDP though.

GOVERNOR ABIOLA AJIMOBI CLOCKS 68 AND GETS MASSIVE, AWESOME HEART GRATIFYING BIRTHDAY GIFTS!

So it was the 68th birthday of the Executive Governor of Oyo State of Nigeria, "Senator Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi triple A's" yesterday.

His date of birth being December 16, 1949 having being born in Oja'ba Ibadan and as a massive birthday gift (s), the only Governor of that state to have ever gotten a 2nd term as a Governor (a major jinx breaking feat) received into the APC camp with some of his party heavyweights-(the likes of the National leader of the APC and Jagaban of Borgu, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola), 2 political colossi in the persons of the former Executive Governor of the same state, in fact the predecessor to Senator Ajimobi, the strongman of Ogbomosho- Chief Christopher Alao Akala and Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, both of who until yesterday were very strong members of the opposition party, the PDP in Oyo State, juggernauts in the political space of Oyo.

With their defection from the opposition to what they have termed and tagged the progressives, they have further deflated and decimated the conservatives and a party that is still doing its best to survive the comatose lethargy that it has fallen into for sometime now. The PDP is grasping for air to survive and those expected to give it the kiss of life, are gradually abandoning her.

Just like it was in Lagos, when former Minister of State for Defence Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro officially declared for the APC with a mammoth crowd in tow, it was somewhat of the same when these 2 political gladiators also changed alliance and declared for the ruling party.

In his address at the rally to welcome the defectors, ASIWAJU Bola Ahmed Tinubu said, the APC has “a stainless kitchen” that is large enough to accommodate as many cooks as possible.

Allaying fears on how to manage the political differences of the political heavyweights joining the party, Tinubu noted that the APC has a variety of menu in the political kitchen for the future of the country.

MUSILIU OBANIKORO RETURNS TO HIS VOMIT. SET TO PUBLICLY DECLARE FOR THE APC!

After months of deflecting what was very obvious, which most knew was going to happen one way or the other after all, former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro who at a time became a vigorous member of the opposition when he left the more socialist bent party AD then to join the conservatives PDP, is finally set to return to the party-the APC he poo-pooed and worked very had to destroy by all means before! Like they say, in Politics, there are no permanent enemies, just permanent interest.

According to a very recent interview he granted Channels Television, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has stated that he would be declaring for the APC openly/publicly this weekend!

The popular politician was at a time the Chairman (Mayor) of LILG (Lagos Island Local Government), he later became a Commissioner under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 1999 as the Commissioner for Home Affairs and Culture. From being a commissioner he became a Senator in Lagos 2003 to 2007 when he ran under the party Alliance for Democracy (AD) then, it was while he was a Senator that he defected to the then ruling party the PDP.

He ran for Governorship under the PDP in Lagos against Babatunde Raji Fashola of the APC and he lost! He was later appointed as the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana by President Yar' Adua. He was later appointed as the Minister of State for Defence in 2014, the position he held via which he used to help his friend, Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose to return as the Governor of Ekiti State against the incumbent then.

So he has had quite an eventful trajectory, holding key positions of influence. Maybe now with this new and current move, he is gearing for something new and big again. 

HON. OPEYEMI BAMIDELE DECLARES FOR THE LABOUR PARTY IN EKITI STATE

This is not the best of times for the APC in Ekiti State as one of the party's aggrieved members in the person of one of their most influential former members has left them to pitch his tent with a rival party-the Labour Party.

The member of the Federal House of Representatives, defected in order for him to pursue his Gubernatorial ambition in Ekiti State come 2014. 

Prior to this his formal defection, he had had a running battle with his former party hierarchy over his ambition. The party had expected he was going to step down his ambition for the incumbent's 2nd term to which he didn't agree. Now with this defection to the Labour, the massive support that the APC used to enjoy in Ekiti State might have been reduced drastically, since Honourable Bamidele seemingly enjoys a very massive support base in Ekiti. 

So a major loss for the APC in Ekiti, might have become a major gain for Labour in the same state. So would Opeyemi Bamidele be joining the Iroko(Dr. Olusegun Mimiko) as the 2nd Labour Governor in Nigeria? Or would the incumbent ride on to a victory irrespective of Bamidele's defection & support? Time will surely tell.
