That Chief Mrs. Florence Ita-Giwa, a Princess and a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is a well celebrated Nigerian matriarch has never been in doubt. She is one top Nigerian celebrity, that is hardworking and has never only depended on politics to maintain her gorgeous lifestyle. The London trained nurse (she attended Kilburn Polytechnic) has always over the years invested well and for many that might not have known, she has investment in the oil and gas sector and some other lucrative sectors of the economy that have yielded good interests over the years, hence her ability to live well and enjoy the best things of life.

It's a well known fact that MMA BAKASSI loves where she is from to a fault, always very concerned about the plight of her people. So this restaurant is a part of the celebration of her heritage, which she has always loved to put in the front burner. The Calabar/Akwa Ibom people are known for their super tasty food, amongst other things.

Mma Bakassi like she is so very well known, majorly because of her love and care for her people from Bakassi, would be declaring the restaurant open tomorrow, Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 5pm and it is expected to be with loads of pomp. The address of the first class place is 285, Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Knowing the humble politician for who she is and how her friends always rally around her to support whatever she does, just like she does too, the place is expected to be jam-packed by the who-is-who of the celebrity heaven. Just in case, you have invited some celebrities to your event and they couldn't make it, its most likely they are in Calabar, Cross River State as the special guests of honour of the incredibly vivacious former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the person of Mma Bakassi, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, whose gorgeous and very brainy daughter Koko Ita is having her traditional native law & custom wedding today, Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The venue of the traditional wedding is none other than the royal palatial home of the dame of style & panache herself, called the Princess Villa, Diamond Hill, Calabar, CRS. You all already know that Calabar the capital of Cross River State is one of the most naturally beautiful places in Nigeria, having also one of the highest concentration of gorgeous damsels too, so those ones in addition to many of the celebrities and stars, who are friends of the mother of the bride, coupled with Koko's friends from all parts of the world, Calabar today would be a virtual convergence point for many delightsome daughters of eve. So eligible bachelors you are welcomed.

Before today's ceremony, Koko who had being away abroad for a while, and had come back into the country to prepare for her glorious day had been observing the traditional wedding rites has dictated by her custom. For a whole week, she had been in seclusion in the very famous 'Fattening room', that the 'Calabarians' are known for. The Efik according to their time honoured tradition, sends their daughters to the fattening room to be pampered preparatory to getting wedded. Koko was in the fattening room for a whole week, away from everyone except those taking care of her, she only comes out in the evenings to dance.

For today's event anyway, the color of the day is Coral & Turquoise, so we expect that by the time the pictures starts flowing in, it's going to be a sea of Coral & Turquoise as worn by the guests. Knowing fully well that Mma Bakassi is a well respected politician & business woman, who is one of Nigeria's top movers & shakers this day's wedding, is most definitely going to be star-studded one. We expect the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Waturocha Dominic, Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Shan George,Kate Henshaw,  Susan Peters and the likes to be in attendance.

The white wedding, from all the indications we have gotten is going to be one of the biggest celebrity events of 2014, and it is upcoming in a few days time, Saturday, September 20, 2014 to be more precise. And like you all already know, the venue is The Main Hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Colour of the day is quite exotic- shades of magenta!!! Expect the event to be a super luxurious carnival of style & fashion, music & entertainment with high powered guests (made up of several Governors, many Government officials, ambassadors, other guests from all the corners of the world. Mma Bakassi is known to throw some of the best parties in town, and this her daughter's wedding, would be a statement making one no doubt. Madam prior to now, had gone abroad to prepare for this occasion, known as an unrepentant fashionista she would most definitely be a cynosure of all eyes in her various outfits. Her delightsome and super stylish mom- Senator Florence Ita-Giwa  is going to clock 68 years old tomorrow, Wednesday, February 19, 2014 and it is going to be a full red carpet event. Friends and family members are already planning on how they would celebrate one of their own. Their dancing shoes have been shined, while their super cool outfits have been prepared for the occasion. 


Tomorrow also most likely, might be the d-day to officially announce to all & sundry the upcoming Autumn wedding of the delightsome and super shapely daughter of the ex-Special Adviser to the President. Koko 22, she'll be 23 in July 2014 is set to get married in September of 2014, all things being equal.

The lucky dude from our little findings is Chimaobi Shawcross Obioha Jnr, one of the sons of the late Chief Shawcross Godwin Moore Obioha & Evelyn Shawcross Obioha, he has a Master's in International Business from Coventry University. Koko is the daughter of the lady most have come to know as Mma Bakassi. She's a graduate of the University of Essex, Colchester, United Kingdom, and the brilliant young lady has only just finished her 2nd Master's degree. According to our little findings, the 2 lovebirds- Chimaobi & Koko have been an item for a couple years now, and the 2 families have always known about the relationship between the duo. There had been an agreement 'sort of' between the 2 families to allow for Koko to finish her Master's before marriage could come on board. Now that that has been done and dealt with, the door is now opened for matrimony. 

So come sometime in September 2014. We all can bet that it would be a very big society wedding all the way for Koko. If the humongous 21st birthday party her mom threw for her  2 years ago is anything to judge by, then we have a big wedding upcoming.

FLORENCE ITA GIWA GETS ANOTHER MULTIMILLION NAIRA APARTMENT NEAR HER OLD ONE

The highly connected and gloriously stylish former Senator doesn't do things by half measures. Everyone that cares to know, know that she's well heeled and that she owns an apartment to overlooks the Ocean at Ocean Parade inside that billionaires enclave known to all as Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos. CNN once carried a report stating that Banana Island is one of the most expensive real estate spot or neighborhood in the world, even Forbes agreed with that fact. Stating that it is at par with the likes of Shibuya in Tokyo, Japan or La Jolla in San Diego, California, USA or even the 7th Arrondissement in Paris, France. 


A peek at her apartment a long time ago spoke of class and style. Not to lie its the kind of apartment one would love to own. We heard that the old Ocean Parade apartment reportedly cost her several millions equivalent of about $1.4 million dollars, this is chicken feed for the ever stylish Mma Bakassi who doesn't do things in small measure, who has now gotten another apartment in the compound next to Ocean Parade called BellaVista. Ocean Parade from what we could deduce is said to be owned by the Chagourys.

Bellavista is one of the several sprawling properties in Banana Island. It is described as a 3 to 4 bedroom waterfront, luxury  and fully serviced apartments. It comes as a 3 bedroom detached or a super luxury 4-bedroom penthouse, with BQ, pool, gym, lawn-tennis court, squash court, in fact all the works. 
As at the last check, apartments inside Bellavista goes for something between $80,000 & $125,000 dollars per annum and to buy outright from about N200,000,000 million plus. Mma Bakassi's own said to be on the 9th floor is said to set her back by about $3million dollars. To make the place fit for herself, she's said to have totally transformed the apartment into a sort of palace. With all the trappings needed to make it extra luxurious. The former Senator is said to have sold her old apartment at the Ocean Parade. 

We hear several top honchos live there and unconfirmed reports says that a particular state chief executive owns several empty apartments on some of the blocks. Just like the name Bella Vista means - Beautiful sight, this blocks of several apartments is a beauty to behold and a money making edifice. 

According to the gist, Mma Bakassi got the apartment a long while ago and only just started being visible there not too long ago.

The incredibly gorgeous and wonderful Senator Florence Ita-Giwa added a year more in February of 2013. Unlike how she normally does it, instead of having an elaborate party to celebrate another year on earth, she decided on having a private party for a few of her close friends and family members.  

Before we forget, she clocked the mature age of 67 and truth be told, she still looks very good and is a fashionista any day. Venue of the party was the top floor of the Eko Hotel, the Sky Lounge at Eko Hotel with a Spectacular view of the Ocean on one side, date was February 19, 2013, which is her birthday date. She was born on February 19, 1946 in Cross Rivers State just 4 days after the day dedicated to the celebration of love. 

Like we already said instead of feting the world, about 50 to 70 of her friends, which included Senator Daisy Danjuma, Hajia Abah Folawiyo, Mrs. Onilere, Lanre Ogunlesi and several others gathered at the venue to wish her well. 

As part of the birthday celebration 2 of Nigeria's top music stars performed for a bit at the shindig, the music stars were the incredibly talented and Africa's number 1 music star Tuface Idibia & upcoming mega star, Iyanya Mbuk. 

We heard it was a swell gathering and everyone had high class fun, while dining.
