WELCOME TO THE 2018 LAGOS FASHION. THE 6TH IN THE EXCITING SERIES & ONE OF THE BIGGEST SO FAR!!!!

This is the 2018 edition and the  6th installment in the series of the annual outstanding event called the Lagos Fashion. It us tagged the biggest ready to wear exhibition in Nigeria. One of the brand's strongest selling point is its amalgamation of Fashion and Beauty (here we refer to Cosmetics et al). Some of the biggest brands in the cosmetics world and market in the country would be showcasing their wares and services!!!! It is therefore an event that's all-encompassing.

And the prestigious Eko Hotel, Victoria Island has always been the venue. It has grown massively from when it began a few years ago, with more and more designers, those in the ready to wear world and exhibitors participating yearly. This year's event which would be over 3 days, starting from Wednesday October 17 till 19, 2018 is planned to be epic, by all standards.

From the feelers we have gotten, it would be a super exciting and unmissable 3 days of excellent activities. Starting with the star-studded masterclass series, that  would be powered/facilitated by the indefatigable and supremely gorgeous Toyin Lawani, the multifaceted MD/CEO of Tiannah's Place Empire. Toyin is one pretty hardworking lady who owns over 30 plus brands all intertwined and all doing very well. She's a designer, who is a top Stylist, who owns a spa, where nails and hair are done. She also owns her own make-up studio amongst several other businesses she owns. She is an undoubted authority on how to make things work, despite everything staked against making such to happen.

Other personalities that would also be a major part of the 2 days Masterclass are the CEO of Loatsad Media, the persistently hardworking Seyi Tinubu, who is an expert on new media, also set to be there would be top female entertainer and probably the biggest female music act in Nigeria presently, that's talking about the one and only Tiwa Savage, also set to participate would be Sound Sultan, who is probably one of Nigeria's most intelligent act bar none. Also set to attend is one of Africa’s most impressive designers of note from Nigeria, that's talking about Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. Not left out is the CEO/MD of Sayaveth Interiors and Sayaveth Hotels, Ehizogie Ogbebor-Bramor, who has made a mark for herself in the lifestyle business. Also set to attend is one of the biggest event managers in Nigeria, the owner and MD/CEO of Zapphaire Events, that's talking about Funke Bucknor-Obruthe. Others coming too are, top celebrity and CEO of her own lifestyle brand, the very famous and super stylish Caroline Danjuma, life coach extraordinaire and mother of top celebrity - Funke Kuti, in the person of Mrs. Laila St. Matthew Daniel, who is a famous life coach. There's also a young, well to do entrepreneur, who is involved in so many successful enterprises and that's MzWaneka, also set to attend is Plus Size exponent extraordinaire, the fearless Latasha Ngwube. Others are online sensation and younger sister of Linda Ikeji in the person of Laura Ikeji, MD of Hair by Ugo, then also a very creative photographer Happiness Benson, there's also the famous motivational speaker Abisoye Olukoya aka Oyemykke and then last but not the least, the MD of Flawless Faces by Jane.

The star-studded role call was specially put together so as to inspire would be entrepreneurs from all areas and others already engaged in business on how to get their businesses, whatever it is that they do, on the right path to outstanding success.

It is not just about the masterclasses though, the entertainment also would be epic by all standards, over the 3 days,. One of those slated to perform is none other than rising comedian and entertainer, Kenny Blaq and he is just one out of the several planned to entertain too. That role call too is quite impressive too. There would also be 3-days of awesome fashion showcases on the Catwalk by new and old fashion houses from across Nigeria.

While all these events are on going, exhibitors would also be showcasing their wares and services in their stalls for all to see and experience. It is expected and estimated that not less than 5000 to 10000 visitors over the 3 days would visit, to view and buy. So it's a great and good place for good interactions between the buyers and the sellers. And It just doesn't end there!!!! There's the opportunity also to win at least N500,000 (Five hundred Thousand Naira Cash) at the Nail Art Competition. Also at least one of the participants in the Masterclasses, would have the opportunity to cart home 5 million Naira worth of good scholarship for training at the TiannahStyling Academy.

All in all, the Lagos Fashion 2018 would beneficial every one, buyers, sellers, visitors, exhibitors, designers etc immensely.

BURNA BOY DECLARED WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH A ROBBERY INCIDENCE!

First and foremost, he has not been declared a robber, you need to be proven guilty 1st, before that can be done, but according to the Police statement as relayed via a briefing just today, the young music Crooner needs to report to the Police as soon as possible to extricate himself from every suspicion and accusations as related by some robbers caught quite recently.

According to the acting Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Mr. Edgal Imohimi, 4 robbers had attacked another musician known as Mr. 2 Kay not too long ago, at none other place than the Eko Hotel!!!! Scary? Yes very very.

They had escaped, but after diligent investigation a girlfriend of one of the robbers was arrested whose name was said to be "Matejero". The arrest led to to further arrest as the robbers were rounded up.

After interrogation, the robbers confessed or better still claimed that they were hired for the job by "Burna Boy" via his manager- Joel Kantiock, who was also arrested in Zaria, Kaduna State.

The robbers claimed that they had gotten an initial down payment of a miserly ₦50000 and then were paid a further ₦50000 after the deed was done by "Burna Boy himself", making a total of ₦100000 (One hundred thousand Naira only).

So the Police are looking for Burna Boy to come explain himself or his own part of the story. For now effort to get him has been futile.

We only just hope, that this would turn out to be a case of mistaken identity or something not too crazy!

Saturday, October 28, 2017 was the D-day. Venue or the convergence point of the eagles was the ballroom of the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos, which has been completely demystified as a 5-star hotel.

It was when "Halima Oluwatosin Saraki" was traditional married and engaged to "Adeniyi Olatunde Olukoya".

As expected, the "stars, celebrities" et al rained down ceaselessly on the venue, all dressed to the nines as they are known to always do. And we have a few more gorgeous pictures for your beautiful view. Enjoy!!!!

SARAKI WEDS OLUKOYA IN LAGOS. THE TRADITIONAL WEDDING ENGAGEMENT THAT TOOK LAGOS BY STORM!

Now that part 2 of the 3 part series has happened, it's now on to part 3, which would take place in Abuja the FCT. The Abuja edition would be a multi-day event like we had already stated in our earlier report. A part of the event is slated for the Yar Adua Centre in Abuja, while the main she-bang would be at the International Conference Centre Abuja. The mother's night/cultural reception (a collaboration between the 2 mothers) is set for Thursday, December 7, 2017 at "Royal Hall of the Dunes Centre, Aguiyi Ironsi Way, Wuse II Abuja".

With the benefit of hindsight now as per what had happened at the Eko Hotel and using that as foresight, all the Abuja events would be monitored and planned to a T to avoid further embarrassment of any kind. 

The Lagos event like we had exclusively reported was nearly marred and panic had already set in, but for the frantic effort of the event centre technical team, who did all they could do to avoid a major disaster as light (Power) was unavailable for 5 hours prior to the event starting. Imagine that from 6am till much later there was a total blackout. Public power was unavailable and the Generators curiously went kaput also! Strange don't you think?

It was a scary situation at first, with people even already conjuring some unbelievable permutations, alleging sabotage! Sabotage for what and why? Thank God though, all that early troubles were nipped in the bud. And the traditional wedding and Engagement thereafter went like a breeze, without any other issue (s) whatsoever.

The event planners engaged, delivered a slamdunk! Security as expected was very tight as provided by both private and public security services.

So finally, Oluwatosin Halima Saraki, 25, first born child of Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the President of the Senate, Federal Republic of Nigeria and his wife, Toyin Saraki nee Ojora, President/Founder of Well-being Foundation Africa was joined traditional to Adeniyi Olatunde Olukoya, the son of Omooba Adebola Olukoya and his wife Olori Olatokunbo Olukoya.

Could less have been expected when the father of the bride is a political juggernaut from the ruling party-the APC and also when the maternal granddad of the bride, is a known boardroom guru and "a lord of the Lagos Social establishment" and also a "bonafide prince of Lagos", who has a legitimate right to the throne of Oba of Lagos, in the person of Otunba Adekunle Ojora, who is ably supported by the Matriach of the Ojora clan in the person of the Erelu Oodua herself, Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, her supreme gorgeousness.

The heavyweights of businesses, top Government functionaries, top echelon of the diplomatic corps, sprinkling of Governors and Ex-Governors, royalties of all colourations, political heavyweights and more littered the venue with their presence. It was colourful, it was upscale, it was an explosive gathering in a great way, in that though it was supposed to be a social gathering, but with great political undertones, which would guide some certain major decisions thereafter. Those who came and those who didn't either deliberately or otherwise would have been noted.

As we speak the Lagos leg of this massive wedding is set to take off at the venue, Eko Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos. It is the wedding between the daughter of the Senate President of Nigeria, Dr Bukola Saraki in the person of Tosin Saraki to her beau, Adeniyi Olatunde Olukoya.

The introduction had held successful without any incidence in Ilorin, Kwara State of Nigeria.

Now it's the turn of Lagos and alas, no light for the last 5 hours! And the hotel management is battling that! Some are suspecting sabotage! Sabotage???? Yes ooooo, like someone is hell-bent on disrupting things.

Eko Hotel is supposedly the biggest hotel in Nigeria and most probably the only 5 star rated in Lagos. What's going on?

The annual AMAA Awards, one of the biggest entertainment awards in Africa, specially dedicated to the movie industry took place at the weekend Saturday, July 15, 2017 to be more precise, at the expansive hall of the Eko Hotel to dazzling lights.

The stars and celebrities as expected came in torrents, having their best feet forward in Celebration of AMAA 2017. We totally enjoy that many of the attendees at least nowadays always make the effort to look beautiful, stunning and totally on point. Kudos to the stylists and company for their good jobs well done.

We were on the red carpet at this year's event to capture a few of these stars for your viewing pleasure. Many looked super stunning and we just must commend them.

Nigeria's own lady of television, the incredible Mosunmola "Mo" Abudu dazzled all in her gorgeous outfit as expected. One f the other highlights in terms of her style was BBN 2017 fake housemate, Eriata Ese Blessing, in that simple but supremely gorgeous all black outfit. Forever handsome Ramsey Nouah was dapper in his Blue jacket on black pant ensemble.

Much less couldn't have been expected. If it had had less drama then one would have wondered at the pedigree of both parents. On one side, the former military head and later civilian President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and on the other side, successful businessmen extraordinary, known better by his moniker as Baba Ijebu, Chief Kessingnton Adebutu, the king of Lotto in Nigeria, chairman Premier Lotto.

By their combination/collaboration, the 2 families gathered together the who-is-who of the society at the venues of the nuptials of their children, Olujonwo and Temitope.

First was the church wedding, which was held at the Methodist Church of the Trinity, Tinubu, Lagos where Reverend Michael Akinwale presided. Reception later followed at the expansive hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites, which was magically transformed to what has not been seen at that venue for a while, and might not be replicated in times to come.

The D-date was yesterday/early morning of Friday, November 21, 2014. The venue like always for events of this calibre was the Eko Hotel, Victoria Island. The event was tagged K1 Live Unusual Concert and on the bill were many other music stars, who do not play K1's type or genre of music. To say it was a star studded occasion was like under playing it. Many rightly said that it was one of the biggest concerts in Nigeria today. The host of the event was none other than the biggest comedian in Nigeria, in the person of Ali Baba, on the bill to perform alongside the King of Fuji music were the likes of Olamide, Sasha P, 9ice, Ara, Muma Gee & his minstrel of a daughter Honey B.

Though we were not there in person, but according to the report we got from those we were there, it was a fun and entertaining night. Apart from the names of the stars above who performed alongside the King, some of the other supporting acts were the likes of the great highlife maestro Sir Victor Olaiya, 2 Shots, Saheed Osupa, Shola Allyson, DNMT, the great Jimmy Jatt & comedy prince-in-waiting Buchi.

To show the kind of great fans K1 the ultimate has, it was a star-studded guests list too, with many of Nollywood Yoruba actors in attendance, the likes of Dayo Amusa, Femi Adebayo, Fathia Balogun, Doris Simeon, Sikiratu Sindodo etc also in attendance was his excellency, the executive Governor of Osun State, in the person of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, his royal majesty Oba Saheed Elegushi, Chief Kollington Ayinla, Dame Abimbola Fashola, Teju Babyface, Seun Soyinka, TeeBillz, Kunle Afolayan, Kenny Ogungbe, YAW & very many others.

Just in case, you have invited some celebrities to your event and they couldn't make it, its most likely they are in Calabar, Cross River State as the special guests of honour of the incredibly vivacious former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the person of Mma Bakassi, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, whose gorgeous and very brainy daughter Koko Ita is having her traditional native law & custom wedding today, Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The venue of the traditional wedding is none other than the royal palatial home of the dame of style & panache herself, called the Princess Villa, Diamond Hill, Calabar, CRS. You all already know that Calabar the capital of Cross River State is one of the most naturally beautiful places in Nigeria, having also one of the highest concentration of gorgeous damsels too, so those ones in addition to many of the celebrities and stars, who are friends of the mother of the bride, coupled with Koko's friends from all parts of the world, Calabar today would be a virtual convergence point for many delightsome daughters of eve. So eligible bachelors you are welcomed.

Before today's ceremony, Koko who had being away abroad for a while, and had come back into the country to prepare for her glorious day had been observing the traditional wedding rites has dictated by her custom. For a whole week, she had been in seclusion in the very famous 'Fattening room', that the 'Calabarians' are known for. The Efik according to their time honoured tradition, sends their daughters to the fattening room to be pampered preparatory to getting wedded. Koko was in the fattening room for a whole week, away from everyone except those taking care of her, she only comes out in the evenings to dance.

For today's event anyway, the color of the day is Coral & Turquoise, so we expect that by the time the pictures starts flowing in, it's going to be a sea of Coral & Turquoise as worn by the guests. Knowing fully well that Mma Bakassi is a well respected politician & business woman, who is one of Nigeria's top movers & shakers this day's wedding, is most definitely going to be star-studded one. We expect the likes of Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Waturocha Dominic, Ini Edo, Chidi Mokeme, Shan George,Kate Henshaw,  Susan Peters and the likes to be in attendance.

The white wedding, from all the indications we have gotten is going to be one of the biggest celebrity events of 2014, and it is upcoming in a few days time, Saturday, September 20, 2014 to be more precise. And like you all already know, the venue is The Main Hall of the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Colour of the day is quite exotic- shades of magenta!!! Expect the event to be a super luxurious carnival of style & fashion, music & entertainment with high powered guests (made up of several Governors, many Government officials, ambassadors, other guests from all the corners of the world. Mma Bakassi is known to throw some of the best parties in town, and this her daughter's wedding, would be a statement making one no doubt. Madam prior to now, had gone abroad to prepare for this occasion, known as an unrepentant fashionista she would most definitely be a cynosure of all eyes in her various outfits. Mma is a well known Elie Saab & Walid Atallah fan. So we are waiting with bated breath to see what she would wear.

SWAG COUPLE-HADIZA & OLAMIJU ALAO-AKALA STEP OUT AFTER HUMONGOUS WEDDING CEREMONY

The delightsome couple only just had their one in town nuptial a couple of weeks back. Many would not forget in a hurry that A-class party, as it had all the trappings that was expected of two moneybag family being joined together.

We had thought that the young couple would still be on their honeymoon, traversing some of the most beautiful capitals of the world savouring themselves, but alas they are around, we saw them looking super stylish at the recently held AFWN at the Eko Hotel venue.

We totally love that super stylish white shirt worn by Olamiju, who sat very confidently next to his beauty queen of a wife Hadiza. They were a delight to behold.

 Mma Bakassi, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa, former SA to the President on National Assembly matters clocked 68 a few days ago. And to make it a party was held at the Sky Lounge, Eko Hotel, Victoria Island. Prior to this post we had informed our readers about the party and what we thought would be how it would go down. Now that the party has held, we have the pictures of all that went down at the party for your viewing pleasure. 

The party had all the razzmatazz expected at high-octane parties like this. Good music, great guest-list,  enough to drink and munch and so much more. The birthday lady as usual came out looking gorgeous. Loads of her friends and associates were in attendance. They had come to party with her and wish her the best. A few older than her, some in her age bracket and most younger than her. Madam herself came looking ravishing in her black outfit.

Some of our best dressed guests of the night were the likes of Ndidi Obioha in her Leopard print dress, gorgeous actress Monalisa Chinda surely did razzle dazzled, Rita Dominic's hair was gorgeous we loved the wild streak and her dress was cool. Mrs. Asemota did quite well for her age. For the men, Dele Dosunmu looked extraordinarily dapper for a 50 year old man. As is usual with the Publisher of Encomium, Mr. Kunle Bakare he represented very well in his double breasted suit, John Obayuwana would have looked altogether smashing except that the jacket should have been fitted a bit more, we totally love AVM Ombu's sense of style, it's just that belly. Bayo Abdul has the idea, he has a style that is all his own. Lanre Ogunlesi was also cool, he sure is one handsome man.
