NIGERIANS FLAY MTN FOR EXTENDING XENOPHOBIC WAR TO NIGERIAN BUSINESS

Have you by any chance tried to call the MTN network from a Glo line of late? While some are lucky to get through at the first attempt, others try up to five or six times or more before getting through! And for us, that's a big shame! We had thought that maybe it might just be us alone experiencing such an issue and so we asked few friends, in fact we had put the issue to the general public on Facebook, which is one of the best ways to quickly feel the pulse of the general populace over an issue.

And then the answers we got showed that it was in fact a  highly irritating and annoying issue, that had affected many who use Glo lines and who had tried time and time again to place calls to those using MTN lines. The annoying rhetoric sometimes was "unfortunately the call cannot be connected at this time. We regret the inconvenience. Please contact your provider"

And so we began to wonder at what was going on? Could this in fact be a case of deliberate sabotage' on the part of MTN? And if that be the case to what purpose is this sabotage? What could they hope or are they hoping to gain from such a despicable practice?

Who could be so desperate to want to sabotage the effort of the only Nigerian, wholly owned Telco brand Glo? Thank God for Glo in Nigeria, we knew how totally expensive it was to make calls and do data before, but the minute the Nigerian brand came on board and allowed the best international practice to prevail in the sector, making the customer king, by offering "per second billing" as a norm, which the other Telco brands had tried to pass off as something impossible. That really opened up the market and showed to the world, those who truly cared about the hearts of the Nigerian people. It wasn't just going to be business and profit making alone. It now became the battle to serve Nigerians with the best of services they needed and wanted.

With the kind of infrastructure that Glo has invested in the country so as  to make sure that Nigerians can get the best of the type of services they get anywhere else in the world, it would be a shame if another brand in that same sector would try to sabotage their efforts or would be allowed to do so at all.

What's the issue at hand, if we may even ask? Or has this become the extension of the persistent 'XENOPHOBIC attacks' against Nigerians in South Africa to the business sector?

Why are they doing it to the same Glo that helped to bring the price of voice calls  down and helped to drastically reduce the cost of data, thereby giving Nigerians the opportunity  to enjoy low tariffs on voice calls and data? Can outsiders love us Nigerians as much as we love ourselves? That's the question we need to ask ourselves and quickly too at that. MTN must be called to order immediately to stop this unnecessary attack, as Nigerians would not take it lightly again with them.

You cannot be shortchanging a country that has been so nice to you. If not for this same Nigerian market that you are treating anyhow, it could have been impossible to declare the kind of humongous and extraordinary profit of the last several years that you have declared consistently. So what we are only asking you for, is to allow a level playing ground and also give us fantastic services commensurate to the love we have shown to you. And also please, and we say it again, please leave our national brand-Glo alone for us !

BANGER LEE BACK ON THE GLO TRAIN.........

Hmmmm, Ose, E JA N LA IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!! D banj is back with Glo again.....

This new Glo/D bANJ deal is most probably the biggest ever signed by anyone in the entertainment industry, sign posting what many have said before, that D Banj is currently the biggest music/entertainment personality this side of the divide.

Now we are sure that the management of D banj's company would be hitting their chest saying they were justified in holding out against taking peanuts from the communication's giant years back. D banj had in 2010 fallen out with the same company when he refused to extend his then 70million Naira contract, which he had signed in 2008. One of the other things he had also asked for then was a N2million fee per performance for the Glo Campus tour.

It was thought then that instead of giving the same kind of contract given to the singing/dancing duo that make up P-Square said to be worth N240million, D Banj was offered considerably less than even the N70million he had been signed on to before. So since both parties couldn't agree on something, everyone had to go their way.

Now after 3 years of both sides grandstanding and not yielding, a compromise was seemingly reached recently, with the odds a lot more on the entertainer's (D banj) side. Though figures have not been revealed or released, we hear the amount agreed on is colossal. Apparently what seem to have triggered the new contracts (D banj & Wande Coal), is the way the competitors MTN & Etisalat seem to have obliterated the others in a signing frenzy. Don Jazzy, KCee, Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Ice Prince etc all signing very lucrative contracts with the other communication brands. Olamide & Ice Prince just signing on as brand ambassadors with Etisalat. We even heard D Banj might have been on the verge of signing a contract with Etisalat, before Glo came back and pulled a fast one to get their former ambassador back.

So if one would look at it very well, who comes bigger in the music industry right now than D Banj aka Eja Nla aka Banger Lee? None actually. So a good one for Glo then.

So D Banj is back on the Glo Train; a train that includes the likes of PSquare, Burna Boy, Naeto C, MI, Lynxxxx, Omawunmi, Bez, Waje & Flavour; That's a good company, don't you all think?

So in the new week, we await the official announcement of the new marriage.  So D banj might have added another toga, to his many togas, that of a prophet. Remember that his jam where he was talking about money money money money!!! It's like his prophecy has come true.

GOOD TMES HERE FOR OMAWUNMI, 1st WAS MORTEIN, NOW GLO AND MOST RECENTLY KONGA.COM

Sure the Lord is smiling down gloriously on Omawumi Megbele.  It's like all the element have all arranged well at the same time for the sonorously blessed & gifted one. Just like the good book says ''When the Clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the Earth. This seem to be Omawumi's season of abundant rain. First it was Mortein, then the almighty Glo smiled on her as she was one of the lucky ones recently unveiled as the communication's giant ''brand ambassadors''. So no more forming for the older ambassadors as if they were better than the rest ooooo. Other certified millionaires have joined the ranks.

Then in the same week, another brand Konga.com unveiled the gorgeous mother of one as the online company's brand ambassador also, their first ever at that. Sure now you must agree with us, it's definetely a good season. Brand ambassadorship is about collecting good money and that means a bulging bank account. So we can begin to see this ones as true ''STARS'' now. They now have the muscles (wink! wink!!) to back up the stardom.

That's not all, we hear that there is a magnificent edifice coming up gradually somewhere around the Lekki Phase 1 area. Though the news is a well-kept secret we eavesdropped and heard titbits about what's going on. If one has worked hard, they deserve the little fun things of life, that means they have earned their stripes. The gorgeous Omawumi deserves all she's getting right now and more still upcoming. Not too too long ago she was 2nd at the singing competition she entered for, not many would have dreamt then, that she would become a superstar like she is now. But see now, in just a short-while everything has arranged.

Congratulations dearie! We know good things come in torrents, so we are expecting more.
