POLICE SET TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE OF DEATH OF DBANJ'S ONE YEAR OLD SON

It has been a very sad few days since the unfortunate and avoidable death of the handsome son of D Banj and his wife, Daniel Oyebanjo III. The unfortunate demise came about as the one year old drowned inside the indoor swimming people at his parents home in Ikoyi on Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Since the sad occurrence was confirmed, most especially by the father of the baby who was far away in America attending the BET Awards 2018 when the unfortunate event occured, it has been an avalanche of outpouring of emotions from all over, as friends, fans, colleagues etc have been sending in their messages of condolences, commiserating with the musician and his family over the painful, so Untimely loss. Daniel the 4rd only just clocked a year old in May of 2018, that's a few weeks ago and the birthday was so very well celebrated.

Even the Police have not been left out too in sending their condolences. But just as they have commiserated with the star and his family over the sad loss, they have also confirmed they would be investigating the unfortunate incident also to find out the remote cause of the sad occurrence, they even released a statement towards their intention thus-

THE SUDDEN DEATH OF LITTLE DANIEL

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Edgal Imohimi, on behalf of officers and men of Lagos State Police Command, wishes to commiserate with the family of Mr and Mrs Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo a.k.a D’BANJ on the death of their one year old son, Daniel (Jnr) Oyebanjo whose sad event took place yesterday 24/06/2018, at the Ikoyi-Lagos residence of the family.

The CP wants the family to know that at this period of their grief, the entire Command shares in their pain.

Although a delegation from the Command, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ikoyi Division, CSP Mustapha N’Abba, who were at the Ikoyi home of the Oyebanjos on a condolence visit did not meet anyone at home, it is expected that when the mourning period is over, the family will formally report the circumstances that led to the unfortunate death of little Daniel to the police. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

He is not known as Mr. Entertainer for fun, as he lives, sleeps, wakes it and does all that's possible to always entertain every which way he can. There's  never a dull moment whatsoever with him. But he's chilled so much now, maybe because the very much attention that was on him then as the reigning king as really subsidied, maybe it's he is a father and husband now and loads more responsible, having gotten married quietly a year plus now. So that status seemingly slowed him down no doubt.

We don't know that yet or know that for sure, but with the recent excitement coming from him, maybe something is surely cooking.

The dude's impressive skirt like pant is totally off the hook, totally very fashion forward, it takes a true person of style who has mad attitude to carry it off! The only white lion (Kiniun Funfun), also known as the big fish (Eja NLA), the one and only D Banj aka Bangalee welcomed his first child, a son at that in America just yesterday.

Dude had gotten married quietly sometime ago, but decided to keep the news/information under the radar, instead of the society wedding everyone had expected, he had gone totally low key, even keeping the identity of his other half well wrapped.

But the excitement of this his new boy, Daniel Oyebanjo III was so much, that he announced the birth on Instagram. Mother and Junior are in great health.

This new Glo/D bANJ deal is most probably the biggest ever signed by anyone in the entertainment industry, sign posting what many have said before, that D Banj is currently the biggest music/entertainment personality this side of the divide. 

Now we are sure that the management of D banj's company would be hitting their chest saying they were justified in holding out against taking peanuts from the communication's giant years back. D banj had in 2010 fallen out with the same company when he refused to extend his then 70million Naira contract, which he had signed in 2008. One of the other things he had also asked for then was a N2million fee per performance for the Glo Campus tour.

It was thought then that instead of giving the same kind of contract given to the singing/dancing duo that make up P-Square said to be worth N240million, D Banj was offered considerably less than even the N70million he had been signed on to before. So since both parties couldn't agree on something, everyone had to go their way. 

Now after 3 years of both sides grandstanding and not yielding, a compromise was seemingly reached recently, with the odds a lot more on the entertainer's (D banj) side. Though figures have not been revealed or released, we hear the amount agreed on is colossal. Apparently what seem to have triggered the new contracts (D banj & Wande Coal), is the way the competitors MTN & Etisalat seem to have obliterated the others in a signing frenzy. Don Jazzy, KCee, Iyanya, Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Ice Prince etc all signing very lucrative contracts with the other communication brands. Olamide & Ice Prince just signing on as brand ambassadors with Etisalat. We even heard D Banj might have been on the verge of signing a contract with Etisalat, before Glo came back and pulled a fast one to get their former ambassador back.

So if one would look at it very well, who comes bigger in the music industry right now than D Banj aka Eja Nla aka Banger Lee? None actually. So a good one for Glo then.

So D Banj is back on the Glo Train; a train that includes the likes of PSquare, Burna Boy, Naeto C, MI, Lynxxxx, Omawunmi, Bez, Waje & Flavour; That's a good company, don't you all think? 

So in the new week, we await the official announcement of the new marriage.  So D banj might have added another toga, to his many togas, that of a prophet. Remember that his jam where he was talking about money money money money!!! It's like his prophecy has come true.

We were supposed to have been at this classy wedding, so we feel so bad that we weren't there to bring you very exclusive pictures our own special way. Anyways, better something than nothing at all.

London based PR Guru to the stars Vanessa nee Amadi got wedded to her handsome beau Oki just at the tail end of September of 2013. She had done her Igba Nkwu Nwanyi a few weeks ago in Nigeria somewhere in the East at her home town. Those who had attended the traditional said it was a very classy event. 

So on to her base in London for the white wedding. When we spoke to her in London in August, she had said left to her it would have been a small but very classy wedding, the running around to make sure all the i's were dotted and t's crossed had drained her a bit, but she was still super excited about the upcoming affair then. 

So the beautiful day has come and gone and those that attended, said like they had expected a very classy affair with stars and celebs everywhere. Vanessa being a PR guru to the stars had a few in attendance, the likes of our own deliciously gorgeous one, Africa's own Julia Roberts, Genevieve Nnaji (Vanessa is Genny's publicist), her ex-bf and Mr. Entertainer, the one & only Banger Lee aka Eja Nla D Banj was also there, so also were the likes of Estelle, Keisha Buchanan, Onyi & Chinny Onwugbenu the duo that owns Mud Cosmetics, Arieta Mujay and Toolz Oniru just to mention a few.

Blushing bride looked glorious in her gorgeous white Vera Wang wedding attire even the most gorgeous mermaid couldn't have looked better, you know most capable brides would do anything to get a Vera for their day. As usual Banger Lee looked the epitome of 'dappernesss', his blue one button suit fitted him to the t,  atop a white shirt, and accessorized with the orange neck wear and socks, plus the orange pocket kerchief & his black studded Christian Louboutin suede shoes; once a dandy always a dandy. While Genny came wearing a cobalt blue wrap dress looking as sweet as always, we totally love Toolz Oniru's dress, one of the best she's worn in a longtime, giving her a glorious slimming effect or was it our eyes? Apart from her gorgeous style, she amazingly caught the bouquet, so we should all expect wedding bells to start ringing soon for her!!!

One of the highlights of the day was a performance by David Adeleke aka Davido, the skelewu King. 

Congrats to the couple. May they continually enjoy marital bliss.

International award winning superstar, Dbanj gave fans an unforgettable experience at the first ever MTV Africa All Stars concert in Durban, South Africa.

Dbanj also performed his monster track, Endowed remix with international rap superstar, Snoop Lion as well as his new tracks like Top of the world, Cash Flow and Sister Caro with his brother and label mate, K-Switch.

The Nigerian entertainer who performed old hit tracks from his past award winning albums surprised fans when he stepped on stage wearing a different pair of Giuseppe Zannotti shoes on each foot.

The concert which was put together by MTV Base and Kwazulu-Natal Province featured top African acts like 2Face, Dbanj, Fally Ipupa, Flavour, Zakes Bantwini, Professor, Zahara, Big Nuz and Camp Mulla.

Top African DJ’s, DJ Caise and DJ Cleo were also on ground to keep music lovers dancing through the night with a wide selection of both local and international music.

D BANJ AT THE AFCON 2013

 It was fitting that he would be one of the closing acts at the just concluded African Cup of Nations 2013. He was the one that wrote the theme song for the football extravaganza. The song titled ''Top of the World'' is a inspiring song no doubt. Decked out from top to bottom in designer swags, he was looking every inch a music star that he is. As an aside we hear he is the highest paid musician in the Nigeria right now. 

After lip-synching excitedly at the closing ceremony, before Nigeria took out the Burkinabe National football team to lift the AFCON Trophy for the 3rd time in history. He was seen celebrating with the boys afterwards.

IS TINIE TEMPAH IN FOR KOKO CONCERT ON DECEMBER 27, 2012?

This year's Koko Concert would be the first after the demise of  that hugely successful team that used to be known in the industry as Mo'Hits Records. It has been several months since the break up that brought about Maven Records on one side; Made up of the likes of Don Jazzy, Dr Sid, D'Prince, Wande Coal and their first lady-Tiwa Savage and on the other side, Nigeria's most exposed musician till date in the person of Mr entertainer himself, Dbanj, his brother K-switch d'Product and J.Sol, that's the new D Banj Record's signee. 

Everyone in Nigeria and even outside already knows that the Koko Concert is set for December 27, 2012 at the Eko Atlantic Beach venue. It is also nothing new that British born top actor, Idris Elba is going to host this year's edition of the concert. While several foreign artistes are being touted to perform, 2 of those already confirmed are, Big Sean & Pusha T. One name that most have not heard about in the equation, but that we at MM hear might be performing is none other than top international music act, who though is British born, is of Nigerian extraction and that is Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu jr. aka Tinie Tempah. According to our snooping bird in know, Tinie might have agreed to come to Lagos to perform at the Koko Concert, thereby helping to add more spice to the already sweet soup that's been cooked for December 27, 2012. We hear that, the DBR crew might still be trying to dot their i's and cross their t's. So if the deal scales through, then expect T.I.N.I.E TEMPAH.

It would be a fitting end to the year for D Banj and his crew, if this is another very successful Concert. His London HMV Apollo concert tagged the D Banj and friends was an unbelievable success, the venue was so packed out it was unbelievable, with many of his loyal fans flying in from the US, Nigeria and nearby countries. It has also being an award laden year, for the great Oliver Twist, aka the Black Mamba, with over 12 plus international recognition from far and near, and newer nominations just announced. His new single titled- Top of the world, has also being chosen as the official song for the 2013 African Cup of Nations. So it has been a mixed bag of the good, the bad and the ugly for him, but it all seems to be ending very well after-all.

D BANJ DROPS COMPILATION ALBUM TODAY 12-12-12

What a date, 12-12-12, the only time ever in history that there would be such a date. We are so sure there is some special significance to it. But that's not the story here, the story is that Dapo Oyebanji AKA D Banj, Africa's nos 1 Oliver Twist has chosen this date to release a brand spanking new compilation album that contains 12 songs. The compilation album would feature the award winning entertainer par excellence himself (this year alone, he has won about 12 awards, if not more) a fantastic return for him, after the upheavals or disappointments of the earlier part of the year. It would also feature his younger brother known to most as K-Switch AKA d' Product and another artist on the DB Records(dbr) label, known to many as J.Sol.

This is most probably a most auspicious date to release the compilation album, as it is seen as a day all the elements may have come together most favourably.  12 songs released on the twelveth day of the twelveth month in the year 2012. Just check this out, there are 12 signs of the Zodiac, 12 Patriarchs, 12 disciples(Apostles), the 12 foundation of the heavenly Jerusalem, the 12 gates, , the 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 Princes of Ishmael etc. So has D banj gone totally religious or spiritual? That we do not know in anyway. But most likely at 12noon today, the compilation album would be released to the world. 

Of the 12 songs, one is of major significance, the album itself is titled the D' Kings Men and included in the album most likely is the official song for next month's ''Orange African Cup of Nations 2013'', set for January 2013 in South Africa. The single is titled-''Top of the World'' and from the little snippet of it that we have heard, its a fantastic jam that calls for the Unity of Africa.Maybe with this, D banj might surely be on the way to that Grammy he wants. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

D’Banj Causes Stampede at London Concert

…Opens British Singer Rita Ora’s first UK Tour

Africa’s quintessential pop star, D’banj,(Thursday August 30, 2012) gave yet another stunning performance at the opening leg of Rita Ora ’s first UK tour at The Scala  in Kings Cross, London to a sold out crowd.

The wildly enthusiastic crowd sang along with the multi-award winning entertainer, soaking in every minute of his electrifying set, and showing the Nigerian-born international star sincere love - many of them had kept vigil the night before in hopes of seeing him live.
