THE YORUBA TRADITION BIRTHED ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY--SAYS HIS H. I. M, OBA ADEYEYE ENITAN BABATUNDE OGUNWUSI, OJAJA II, THE OONI OF IFE

The highly revered Oonirisa, Adimula of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II apparently gave this very eye-opening, jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring interview to the Yoruba arm of the BBC very recently.

As a custodian of tradition and one who should have insight to many deep things, he showed a glimpse of his vast knowledge, wisdom and understanding in this rather short part of what we believe is a much longer, very insightful interview. The interview itself was conducted in Yoruba, but we have interpreted and transcribed it in English.

Here the 'Kabiyesi' (one that cannot be questioned).

"It is in the tradition of the Yoruba race that religion came out from. The Moslem (Muslim) religion came out from us, the Christian religion also came from it too.

Ogun-Osoosii, started the house of worship; that's talking about the house of worship as we call it today.

"Ogun-Osoosii" is the Head/the overseer of Ogun-Osoosii in the house of worship at "Osoosi". This is what later became 'catechism', that became 'Catholic' now.

Where the whole world go to in "Mecca", where they go to pray and worship is called house of prayer (Ile adura), House of prayer is house of Oodua.

It's Oodua that's also called Adura (prayer). Oodua owns it. One of those that works (worked) for him is called prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and all other prophet's, until Prophet Mohammed (SAW) now came there.

Oodua owned the place, that's the house of worship. He was the 1st to climb the Mount of Arafat. He had climbed the mount to go pray to the God (olodumare). That's why till tomorrow the Moslem still keeps the tradition of climbing the Arafat.

The Christians or those of the Christian religion too climbs the mountain too.

It is the ancient tradition of the Yoruba race that began it all, we birthed (gave birth to) religion (worship), but a lot of people don't have that understanding/knowledge, they have forgotten this, neglected it, pushed it aside.

Olodumare (the one that brings/binds together and rewards accordingly), meaning God Almighty, would allow us to come to the understanding and knowledge".

The palace of the most revered King from Africa, that's the Palace of the Ooni Adimula of the world, his imperial majesty, Oba Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ojaja II, has come out to debunk in very strong terms the purported upcoming wedding of the season of the bachelor monarch, who incidentally is being counted as one of the most eligible bachelors in Africa right now, after his 2 former marriages had hit the rock. One of the marriages was when he was still a young prince, while the more recent one was to the famous Olori Wuraola Zainab Otiti-Obanor.

The subject matter of the speculation or marriage tale is none other than an outstandingingly gorgeous beauty and brains (highly cerebral) by name Temitope Adesegun, who is the Co-convener of Hopes Alive Initiative. She used to be the personal assistant to the former SSG of Lagos State at a time. The well schooled lady, went to Harvard, Oxford, Instead, Cambridge after she had 1st graduated from the University of Lagos many years back.

How those who came up with the supposed tales by moonlight got their story of the impending wedding and subsequent marriage we do not know, but a close aide and an in-law of the revered monarch, in the person of Prince Jide Fadairo, who is married to one of the lovely sisters of the king and who should be in the know, was the one that debunked the tale, which had already gained much traction.

People, in fact the whole world are very eager to know who the king is going to marry again and how soon too, as some have claimed that it is not too good tradional wise for a king, especially of the caliber of the Ooni on the throne, the very one on the stool of ODUDUWA, to remain a bachelor for too long. Also the curiosity to know is also because this particular Ooni is still a very young in his early 40s and infact an handsome hunk of a man too, who is also very stylish at that, one who many very willing ladies would love to have as husband.

In debunking the tales, Prince Jide Fadairo the CEO of House of Oduduwa Foundation and husband of Princess Folasade, the monarch’s eldest sister, said that, "it was a fairy tale gone too far.
“Ooni’s marriage cannot be done secretly, it involves not only the royal family, it involves Yoruba custom and a lot of elders and our tradition are to be taken into cognisance. Please dismiss the story, it is another fake news.

Then another confidant and friend of the Ooni, Mr. Muyiwa Leroy Afolabi went further to say

” Kabiyesi will carry every Ile-Ife’s sons and daughters along whenever it’s time to pick another Olori (Queen) for us.

Let’s always verify the facts before sharing.”

Prince Fadairo went further to say, "the time is not propitious for the monarch who is immersed in the renaissance of Yoruba culture and promotion of the race’s customs and traditions globally.

“That’s not on His Imperial Majesty’s mind. Marriage is not something he wants to do right away. Many names have been bandied around but I can tell you they are all false, just like this case.”

Case closed for now then. Gbam!!!

Now that the highly revered Oonirisa, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, the Ojaja II is now an "eligible bachelor" that's if tradition can permit one to say that, woe betides any lady that is seen with him, either just greeting him or even seen around his entourage, for it would immediately spark speculation that the person might just be the lucky one. And such a person had better be squeaky clean without any skeletons whatsoever!

If the lady whether single or married is now a pretty or imposing one, that would most likely further add to the intrigues that surrounds who would be the next Olori (Queen) !!!!.

And just because the monarch or the palace has not announced that one person or the other is the lucky one yet, many especially on the social media have allowed their minds to even travel far faster than that of the very handsome and eligible monarch.

Imagine that a lady by name "Emmanuella Ropo" who had innocently taken a picture with the amiable and well respected royal father as far back as May 2017, at the humongous wedding of the children of former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR and that of Baba Ijebu, Chief Kessingnton Adebutu, is now being linked with him as his new wife. Just because of a picture.

The innocent picture has caused a lot of minds to fabricate a secret marriage that has since been found to be a tale by the moonlight. Even Emmanuella herself, the lady in the picture has been somewhat embarrassed by the story and has come out to dispel the rumour.

Hear her,  It's all bullshit!!! She disclaimed the whole scenario in an exclusive interview with "Flip TV".

And the currently "single lady", who had been reported to be "here and that" went on further to say that the fake story is the "handiwork of detractors".

It is obvious via the mien of the Royal Father that no one can bamboozle him to reveal his private business, until he is ready to divulge such information. So let's all wait patiently.

OONI OF IFE SEEMS TO HAVE PICKED A SIDE IN THE BATTLE BETWEEN OLUBADAN VS. AJIMOBI

By virtue of the revered stool the Oonirisa, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, the Ojaja II occupies he is seen and acknowledged as the number 1 monarch amongst all the royal fathers in Yorubaland. So whatever his Imperial majesty does is seen and accepted as the actions of the gods, since he is the official representative of Oduduwa, the acclaimed founding father of the Yoruba race.

Succession towards the very respected Olubadan stool before the recent actions of the Oyo State Government led by Senator Abiola AJIMOBI, used to be very rancour free. There was the clear cut path towards becoming the next Olubadan. So everyone on the line knew where they were and accepted their positions without issues. But the state government then came on board, and felt that the rancour free path though great, was now obsolete and felt they could rejig it by elevating all the chiefs around the royal father also to lesser level crown wearing kings.

That decision was not very welcomed by the Olubadan at all. Who felt and believed that for any elevation to occur, if it should occur at all, should be done by the Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-council and then by extension even if there was any reason to review the so called "obsolete succession constitution", it was strictly the purview of the Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-council.

But the Government of Oyo State didn't see the whole process in that way, so they did their review, did the gazette and immediately elevated the Chiefs to kings, pitching the newly elevated kings against their ultimate king-the Olubadan Oba Saliu Adetunji. To reverse the so called anomaly, the Olubadan has since instituted a court case.

But while all this drama is on going in the background, Yorubaland's number 1 monarch, the Ooni who should normally not be involved in any type of unneccesary drama that involves the stool of other notable kings, is seen in a picture that has gradually gained traction by the day, in his palace with those newly crowned kings which has been translated as a form of endorsement of those 21 kings and his support of Governor AJIMOBI .

CAN THIS TRULY BE THE NEXT OR NEW OLORI OF IFE?

Like we say sometimes, except it is a deliberate attempt at misdirection, then the lady above might be one of the most important ladies in the whole of Yorubaland pretty soon.

Until the next few days, which would make it a new month, entering the ember months starting in September, before we would know for sure what's up and the truth as it is!

But the speculation is already very very rife as to who is or would the next Olori, that special one, who would epitomise all that is great and wonderful about a maiden and set to take over from where the former Olori Wuraola (queen) has supposedly left off unceremoniously.

The lucky one that is being pointed at and is being referred to for now, though not officially as Olori Ogunwusi is the lady by name Olori Abolanle.

Much is not yet known about her and her background. But all we can say is that she's light skinned and is a pretty lady. Olori Bolanle the "unofficial wife" (until the palace says she is, none can say she is yet) of the Adimula according to unconfirmed gist was introduced to the highly revered monarch by his sisters, all of whom he holds in high esteem. She is said to be from Abeokuta Ogun State.

According to the gist, the trio never liked the first queen (reasons for that we don't know)) and they were alleged to have plotted and did all that was humanly possible to get her removed and expunged.

Though the palace is said to have claimed that all is/was well between the monarch and his 2nd wife, Olori WuraOla, what is obvious for all observers is that they seem to be talking, but their mouth apparently wasn't moving.

So according to the gist which also claimed that Olori Abolanle is the new heartthrob of Yorubaland most revered monarch, this new month of September 2017 would be the official unveiling of the identity of the new Olori (queen).

So while they are still yet to unveil madam to us, we have heard though, that the new queen might be the above lady in the picture.

It was just about a year ago, that the whole merriment and fanfare began, it was like the highly revered king had fallen in love forever and ever with a match, made in the stratosphere. It was the union of ancient connection, with Ife and Bini coming together to forge a union supposedly blessed by the gods of the land.

According to the gist then, out of the many could have been the one, Olori WuraOla was the preferred choice of the ancients, the exception. The dieties being immortals with the abilities to see out of the ordinary, must have seen something that others who are just mere mortals didn't see, being mere puns in the hands of the gods and goddesses alike.
