A couple of years ago, the name This Day was synonymous with all that's great and awesome and extraordinary about entertainment and world class events in Nigeria and then suddenly they went on a prolong hiatus to our detriment. No international event worth its salt was organized without the Newspaper or media brand not involved.

They have assembled some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry world wide in Nigeria and even outside the shores too. They in fact showed all other brands the way. Their fashion event, the Arise Fashion Week was the numero uno in Nigeria then & one of the best in Africa. They brought all the biggest names in Africa and some from around the world together at one spot. The Arise Fashion Week in fact even made in roads in South Africa and even in New York, at the New York Fashion Week and even held her own in London too at the famous Royal Albert Hall. Some of the top black people likes of -Ozwald Boateng, Naomi Campbell, in Fashion around the world were made more popular to Nigerians by Arise/This Day.

It was this same brand that brought the likes of John Legend, Rihanna, Chris Brown, Jay Z, Beyonce, Neyo, Seal, Christiana Aguilera, Shakira, Usher, Fat Joe and more at the height of their fame to Nigeria to perform. We mean that This Day/Arise brought all of these great stars to Nigeria not when their fame had subsided, but as at the time they were hot, hits and reigning as current champions then, such was the power of the brand and the influence of the owner of the brand too, in the person of Prince Nduka Obaigbena, known and referred affectionately to as 'The Duke'.

So now after the hiatus that saw other brands spring up to try to do what they had begun, it seems the king is back again with much aplomb! First the fashion show was resuscitated and it's has been an interesting, well orchestrated revival. It's like they never went away, the last 2 editions have been great as was expected with the awesomely incredible Naomi Campbell and the great Andre Leon Talley being parts of the success of the last one.

Now it seems the world famous This Day award has come back too with a bang and this year's edition came as the brand was also celebrating a quarter of a century (25 years anniversary). To exist or to have existed that long in a terrain like Nigeria and still be one of the top 4 media brand without a doubt, is not a mean feat. This Day brought a lot of innovations into the media terrain that galvanized the sector to the very next level, there were things they introduced that no other brands then had thought they could do. Introduction of color and the stand out pullout are just a few of those things.

So a few nights ago, all roads led to the Eko Hotel Convention Center, Victoria Island. And it is for the 2020 'This Day Awards and 25th Anniversary Party'. And one of the highlights of the night apart from the many awards given to deserving individuals and corporate organizations was the performances by both the extraordinary Asa and her brand and the awesome performance by none other than the great, the incredible, the Grammy award winning, the Oscar award winning, the Emmy award and Tony Award winning musician of note, Mr. John Legend. He is in fact the only black musician/entertainer to have won the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony Awards) all together. In fact he has won an incredible 10 Grammy awards already. The great legend of our time, known to have sang many great songs performed incredibly to a loud ovation in Lagos, 2 nights ago.

John Legend performed his many hits to the delight of the appreciative crowd who sand along to the delight of the music star. Dude was impeccably garbed in his nice white on black ensemble. And the crowd surged forward to take his pictures and record videos as he performed. Thank God that the organizers were careful not to
The venue was jam packed to the rafters with many top personalities, most of who are personal friends of Prince Nduka Obaigbena. The great personalities likes of Aliko Dangote, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Segun Agbaje, Herbert Wigwe, Rotimi Amechi, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikwe Jonathan and many others and excellent corporate organizations likes of Dangote, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, GTBank and many others carted home awards of distinctions.

The ladies as expected came dressed to the nines. Femi Otedola looked young and sparkling in his well sown and very well worn sparkling white Agbada ensemble. His daughter though, that's talking about DJ Cuppy of the Gelato fame obviously needs a wardrobe assistant or a style manager or something like a total image person, compared to her far more  awesomely stylish younger sister Temi, she wasn't well dressed at all, in fact she looked frumpy. That gown no matter how expensive it was that she wore, aged her a whole lot, it made her look far older than her age. We expect far too much from her on the style stake, especially as she has access to the best of the best if she would make use of it.

Nkiru Anumudu was the lady in red and as expected, she stood out elegantly.

The awards presented on the night were divided into 2 categories, the people's choice awards & the editor's choice awards and from the look of it, the awards were 'equitably distributed' to accommodate all the big brands and names.

The 'company of the decade' had as people's choice 'Dangote Group' owned by the wealthiest blackman in the world, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, while the editor's choice was 'Nigeria LNG Limited', a brand that should become the richest brand in Nigeria in the nearest future. The

Soft drink bottling Company, Pepsi announced very recently their new set of ambassadors, who are all badass deejays in their own rights with awesome followerships. And one of those so announced is none other than DJ Cuppy, whose real name is "Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola", whose dad is Nigeria's oil and gas magnate behind Forte Oil fame, in the person of Forbes certified billionaire Femi Otedola aka (Ote💰).

DJ Cuppy joins the ranks of incredible DJ Spinall, the exceptional DJ Obi & awesome DJ Xclusive.  These incredible 4, or should we say 4 musketeers were unveiled on Instagram as Pepsi's newest DJ Ambassadors.

Faridah, is the only daughter of billionaire businessman Tunde Folawiyo and his lovely wife Reni. The stupendously gorgeous darling got everyone salivating and taking many double takes at the very recent annual Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago, which she attended with the gorgeous daughter of fellow billionaire Femi Otedola, in the person of Ifeoluwa Otedola aka DJ CUPPY. Both Cuppy's mom Nana and Faridah's mom Reni have been great friends for upwards of 20 years now, so the 2 families are intertwined.

As normally expected at such carnivals, the dress theme is to be as open and liberated as possible, showing off all the best structures the creator as gifted one with and that one self too has honed either via exercise or maybe just plain gene inheritance.

From the looks of the pictures above, it is obvious that all the young damsels must have had the most fun of time at the event.

One other person at her home based carnival that got all of the attention in a eye-popping manner😳 was none other than Trinidadian "Symba", who had recently taken Lagos Nigeria by storm all of last month when she visited and stayed for about 3 weeks.

DJ CUPPY "THY HOTNESS DON COME" HER INTERVIEW WITH FASHION BOMB IN THE US.

So the supremely gorgeous and calm daughter of billionaire oil magnate Mr. Femi Otedola, in the person of Florence "DJ Cuppy" Ifeoluwa Otedola was in the US very very recently and had an interview with Fashion Bomb, which was featured very late November 2017.

The young and very fashionable yet very respectful lady spoke on sundry issues, chief of which was her new collaboration with Tekno titled "Greenlight" and also spoke about the unfounded misconceptions about Nigeria.

Who is Cuppy for those who don’t know? She says,

“Cuppy is a fusion between Africa and the Western World. I’m a growing brand. Music is really my base, but I’m on a journey to find different ways to express myself.”

Tell us about your single, Greenlight.

 “Considering the video is about the love and relationship side of meeting someone, it’s about a girl or a guy giving you the Greenlight. Before I put out my record, I managed to build a great brand back home. I always felt like it was time for me to take things to the next level. I knew my debut single would be called Greenlight, so Greenlight for me means having the guts to finally go [and step into your destiny].”I sing on my song, which is very different because I’m not an artist, I’m a DJ. I don’t think I have the best voice in the world. I definitely don’t. Thank GOD for autotune. Music is changing. Greenlight is me taking it to the next level.”

What are the common misconception about Africa?

Cuppy says, “People think in Africa, we live in mud huts. But you’ve been to Lagos and know that is totally false! Nigeria is booming, Africa is booming, there’s an economy, there’s a lot of money. There’s a lot of interest in fashion and pop culture. So it’s definitely that idea of us Africans not being as exposed. Moet et Chandon found out that Nigerian is the bigger importer of champagne. People don’t know that we love to party, we like luxe things, we love exciting stuff, we are a great consumer to have as clients.”
She continues, “There are a lot of misconceptions about fraud and aboout a lot of Nigerian’s being corrupt, but there are a lot of hard working Nigerians in this world. I feel like even if people aren’t fully Nigerian, maybe their culture is Nigerian, you’ll find that there’s this work ethic that is completely unmatched.”

What’s next for Cuppy?

She says, “I want to work on an EP. There’s a lot of amazing thing going on for Afrobreats. It’s an exciting time. I want to do a lot of cool remixes. I want to bring Afrobeat to the mainstream, and remix American records with Afrobeat sounds.

Tola Adegbite is the other sister (younger) of Reni Folawiyo, who is the owner of Alara Concept Store and the wife of billionaire businessman and scion of the late Baba Adinni, Alhaji Wahab Iyanda Folawiyo, in the person of the gentleman par excellence, Tunde Folawiyo. Both sisters are high ranking fashionistas of note, known for always putting their best foot forward.

A couple of weeks back, Tola gave life to a dream she has always had to set up her own fashion brand/line, which she named TURFAH, from her 2nd name, which is an Arabic name given to girls and actually translates to mean "Blessings" "Good things of Life" "Luxuries" "Rare Gem" "Something Extraordinary".

The fashion line was launched with much aplomb at the Alara Concept Store with many distinguished people in attendance wearing the brand. The line was the embodiment of everything the name translates to mean, the colours were very rich and exotic and looked quite luxurious, the fabric-100% silk is of the very best, the finishing was topnotch, the styling elegant and standout.

The first line actually delivered on what it promised.

Some of those that attended the event as expected were the likes of Tunde and Reni Folawiyo, Herbert Wigwe of Access Bank, former CEO of Access Bank Aigboje-Aig Imohkuede, GMD/CEO of Oando PLC Wale Tinubu, Kemi Ibru, Ebi Williams and many others.....

One of the early fans of the the brand is the stylish daughter of the billionaire oil mogul, Mr. Femi Otedola, and that's DJ Cuppy who wore "Turfah" very recently to receive her Award at the NYU.

Maybe that artistic/creative gene(s) specifically in the art form, which the dad never displayed before, is what the kids are now showing off with glee! Sometimes the old ones can live a particular beautiful dream of theirs via their kids, this most likely might be the case in the lives of the children of Femi Otedola.

Many might not have known her that much or heard her name as much as that of the other more popular two, in the persons of DJ Cuppy-Ifeoluwa Florence Otedola, the Celebrity Deejay and Temi Otedola, the top lifestyle blogger, but Tolani Otedola is the first born daughter and the eldest child of the certified Forbes billionaire, Femi Otedola.

Like the other 2, she's also very gorgeous too, a pretty girl by all standards and the eldest of the 3 gals, even older than the only son too. 

From the way the 3 daughters of FO, (which is one of the popular sobriquet by which Femi Otedola is addressed by most), have embraced their very creative and artistic sides, it is obvious that their parents have a very liberal leaning, unlike many of the kids of the super well to do, whose parents most often would have insisted that their kids should go find other meaningful things to do. So most likely FO might have had an agreement with his kids, that they finish school first, get your degrees and then thereafter go do whatever catches your fancy and I ll support you to the best of my abilities.

So Tolani, like her younger sibling DJ Cuppy has thought to explore her musical side, expressing her artistic gifts and showcase her talent to the world via singing and performing (music).

So as a star in the making, an emerging entertainment Sun, set to let her shine fall on all, she showcased her skills for the first time publicly yesterday, Friday, October 27, 2017 at that artistes enclave on Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island known to all as Terra Kulture.  Incidentally, that same street used to house FO's former business HQ- Zenon Oil head office.

This first showcase was a very privileged one at that, with the who-is-who of the business world attending to show support, to their friend and his daughter. The likes of Aliko Dangote, Samad Rabiu, Nduka Obaighena, Sam Iwuajoku, Segun Sebanjo, Aig Imohkuede, Herbert Wigwe, Mo Abudu, Dapo Balogun, Gbenga Oyebode, Tayo Ayeni, Bola Shagaya, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Muyiwa Bakare, Ladi Balogun, Niyi Adebayo, Donald Duke, Tunji Olowolafe, Aremo Segun Oniru, Mutiu Summonu, Biola Akinola and very many others all came and were all mesmerised! 

This emergence of a well supported budding new music talent, set like "Pinky & the Brain" to take over the world music stage, sure started on a good footing. Knowing her dad very well, if Tolani is as talented as she has displayed already, then we are sure that he would leave no stone unturned to make sure to help her realise her dream of becoming the "next international world music star" to emerge from Nigeria Africa.

Should we be expecting a "Grammy" award sometime in the future, from the Otedola's household? Never say never, is all we can readily respond with right now. But we can also say that for a first outing, she did give a good account of herself.

So when rumour mongers recently went to town claiming the love match between these 2 love birds, DJ CUPPY (Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola), that's billionaire Femi Otedola's 2nd daughter, who is a "celebrity deejay" and "ace UK Championship footballer" Victor Anichebe had summarily hit the rock, they somehow felt they had to respond, though it wasn't needed.

Infact in doing the story of the break up, it was alleged that Cuppy had since moved on into the arms of Mr. Eazy, who is Temi's love match, a total laugh, as the music crooner couldn't have been dating 2 sisters!!!!

FEMI OTEDOLA'S GORGEOUS DAUGHTER SET TO TAKE OVER LAGOS THIS WEEKEND

UK based female DJ, Cuppy is set to take over the City of Lagos come Saturday 23^rd November 2013 as she will be performing live at Prive Lounge on Karimu Kotun Street, Victoria Island. The delectable A-list act flew in from New York where she had gone to perform at a private function. The year 2013 has seen her grow in leaps and bounds as her hit single “I love My Country” continued to inspire youths at home and abroad; she was appointed ambassador for the Ministry of Tourism’s, Fascinating Nigeria project. Cuppy also represented the Country during Nigerian Day at the World Tourism Market in London where she performed to a diverse crowd.

In October, Cuppy released a mixtape titled “Forever Summer”, which began with a jazz rendition but quickly switched to the monster hit “Khona” by Mafikizolo and other huge summer bangers by artistes such as Psquare, Olamide and Swedish House Mafia. She is known for her signature style of blending local Afrobeats with Western House in what she terms “NeoAfrobeats”.
