This massive do by all standards would be on the front burner and in the minds of all for a very longtime to come. We stress again that, it is probably the biggest wedding of the season bar none. The only way the Dangote's do might have been bigger might just be by virtue of the sheer amount of money expended or maybe the caliber of bigwigs that attended, but apart from the 2 things already mentioned, everything else pales into insignificance in comparison as this is probably the standard by which other ceremonies would be judged or measured for times to come!

There was no stiffness of any kind at this wedding. It is what you can classify as the highest scale of Owanbe.

The Afolabi's led by the head of the clan, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, who is the gentleman Billionaire Executive Vice chairman of Sifax Group a major Nigerian conglomerate, with diversitfied investments in many areas and also the Executive director at SAHCOL who is also the owner of that 5 star Hotel set to be opened in GRA, Ikeja soon before the year ends by name the Marriot and the Omisade's, that's the family of the stupendously gorgeous Bride-Abisola led by her dad-Prince Omisade both went over and above to make the ceremonies one to remember.

The entertainment was top notch all the way. KSA that's King Sunny Ade of the universe had been on the bandstand in IBADAN for the traditional wedding, which was much hosted by the bride's family at the Jogor Center, Ibadan, Oyo State. If that was a fantastic event, the Lagos event topped it by many miles.

Entertainment was provided majorly by the Shuga Band led by the ever impressive Akiin Shuga. He was supported by the a plethora of top reigning musicians from Mayorkun who broke the ice to Reekado Banks to LAX and to the King of them all 2baba who nearly brought down the roof with his awesome performance. 2baba got the whole crowd involved as it became some sort of sing-along and the young crowd bombarded the stage as the couple and 2baba had crazy fun!

The day's very reliable MC, was none other than the very functional Tee A, who controlled proceedings very very well.

The provisions made for the guests were outstanding in all ramifications. There was the overabundance of foods of all types-we cannot just name it all, it was over available and it flowed generously all through the event. Champagne was like water, not to talk of brandy, be it XO or VSOP and other types of liquor and things. It was obvious that good money was well spent. Infact some even exclaimed that it was a trailer load of drinks of all types. Desserts was aplenty, from ice-cream to cakes of all types. Not to talk of grills of all types and even burger etc.

People were served at all times and the choices were staggering.

The guests list was diverse. Royal fathers likes of Ooni of Ife, HIM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Emperor of Greater Iwo, Emir/Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, Elegushi of Ikateland and environs, Oba Alaiyeluwa Saheed Ademola Elegushi, Oluwu of Owu Egba, Oba Adegboyega Dosunmu and many others, top businessmen and women likes of Tunde Ayeni, Bisi Onasanya, and very many others. Those in the entertainment industry, likes of Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Desmond Elliot, Monalisa, Susan Peters and very many others. Top Government officials, we say Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his gorgeous wife, we also saw Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and loads very many others too numerous to mention.

It was a sea of gorgeous styles of Aso-Ebi. Mennnnnn, come and see babes!! ! All colours, all shapes, all heights, all styles, all kinds. Bisola's friends came in torrents. Some of the styles worn by many of the ladies would wake up the body of an avowed eunuch, mennnn they were bold and in your face.

Harbour Point was totally packed out. Elizabeth R owned by Ibidun Ajayi was  in charge and she did a great job. Bonix drinks, RL Desserts, Jollof Plus so many others truly delivered.

By the time we were leaving the venue, which was at about 10:30pm another epic party of the most awesome kind and dimension had just begun, which was the humongous after party. Imagine that the permanent building in the Harbour Point compound was totally, we mean totally transformed into a super classy nightclub/upscale lounge!!!

There couldn't have been less than a thousand people in that place. Music was E.P.I.C, it was another round of party altogether again, with everything well provided. When we say everything, we say that very well and emphatically! The earliest any would have left that lit party would have been about 3am.

All in all, the party delivered. Lest we forgot, gifts of all type and shapes practically rained down. You need to see gifts that individuals packed home, from coolers to umbrellas to sacks of Garri to vegetable oil to packs of salts to sets of frying pans to set of bowls m, to sets of plates to too many things too numerous to just mention, imagine electric stoves and more.

That Wale Tinubu is a billionaire is not in doubt, that Forbes is not already shouting his name to high heaven, is because he is still deliberately staying under the radar, maybe very soon many who don't know now would come to understand he is probably one of the most loaded young Nigerian in the world. So to indulge in art loving is just an extension of his worth or value. A testament to that is at that newly opened Wings Office Complex.

If you have the chance and honour to enter Wings, that gorgeous edifice of a building which now houses OANDO HQ on 17a Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria  Island, 2 humonguous and mind-boggling art pieces would stare you in the face with the arrogance of awesome and artistic beauty. Standing out elegantly amongst other awesone displays of opulence and class. Each of these world class, work of art were bought for a whopping  100 million Naira each, making a total of a paltry 200 million this does not include all other pieces that might litter the whole buildings. Most definitely, there would be other bric a brac of lesser cost all over too. These art pieces would only had to the billions in value that the edifices, which on their own are architectural masterpieces already hovering over the lagoon are worth.

The 2 strategic pieces are the works of the stupendously talented Peju Alatishe, 43. Peju is a mixed medium award winning artist, who won the 2017 (FNB) Art Prize. She is a fellow of National Museum of African Arts, a part of the Smithsonian Institution. She's not only an artist, but a poet and a writer with published works. She trained as an architect and was one of only 3 to have showcased at the Biennale, the first Nigerians at the art exhibition. 

HOW NOT TO BE RICH.....AN ACTUAL EVENT RECALLED!

This is not a story or a mere conjecture, but something that actually happened, and yours truly was an actual near witness and it actually happened to a good friend and brother. At the time it happened, it actually shocked one to the bone marrow as we couldn't just believe it!

This extremely wealthy family, in fact certified billionaires at that had hosted an event of an extraordinary magnitude at the usual suspect venue, that Nigerian 4 star hotel in Victoria Island Lagos. It was an humongous event by all standards, and money was not spared, as one of the boys was officially getting hooked to a young very pretty lady from another very well known family, in fact if not for money, the girl's family had more pedigree.

So the event was on and we were actually at the hotel at the time, not to attend the event though, but for another event entirely. Our good friend whose Integrity we can vouch for anyday and before anyone and anything is a top manager for one of the vendors engaged for the big occasion. Their brand is "A" class by all standards, we even know the very upscale owner of the brand, who favours only "Oswald Boateng" outfits and Berluti leatherwares. In fact the owner of the brand is probably one of the highest collectors of the British brand in Nigeria and he also loves Berluti shoes to a fault. He pays his workers very well.

So at the event there was one of the halls where the brand kept all their equipments and things needed for the occasion being hosted by this extremely wealthy couple. Incidentally also, it was inside this same hall that the family had kept the wrapped presents the family were going to give out to their various guests. So the husband and wife duo were just outside the hall and the manager who had been going in and out of the same hall, getting this and that to use to arrange the hall was suddenly noticed by the couple, who accosted him, shouting at the top of their voices accusing the dude of theft!

For daring to want to explain that he was one of the vendors (in fact manager of the company) working for their event, he was slapped! For daring to protest that he wasn't a thief, but one just going about his legitimate business and that their equipments were in that same hall and that was what he went to get, he was slapped again a few more times! For protesting his innocence and asking why he was getting beat up for no just cause, he got dazed again and in fact, we were there when the dandy billionaire husband was removing his Agbada to go for an all out war, trying to showcase he was a Lagos boy to the core and madam was in fact there, making the situation worse by egging her husband on!

In shock we bystanders were just looking in disbelief! Totally and  unpretentiously befuddled, by what had just occurred right in front of us!

You expect the super rich, in this case the super wealthy, to ooze class and distinction, but for this duo they lacked decorum totally! There were ways to have confirmed immediately of the dude was actually who he claimed he was there and then, but instead they descended on him like a wild, totally ravenous beasts. We later found out though, that when Oga has had a few pint in his system, he tends to misbehave and most often might want to show off his fighting skills, like Floyd.

Two families uniting in matrimony is always a good thing, from just being strangers before or just friends, both in marriage becomes one united family and as much as possible, become one big single family. At least that's what the union between the son, Seun of Hajia Bola Shagaya and the daughter-Damilola of the Vice President would engender, unity, oneness and love.

This wedding by all standards should be a big one, a VP of a super rich nation like Nigeria, who was a very successful lawyer before coming into politics, whose wife's nuclear family- The Awolowos, are very influential and very well to do also and a billionaire business woman, who is not only very highly connected, but by implication also very very well to do. But from the little we have heard, thiugh all things are been put in place to make sure it's a classy wedding by all standards, it is rather going to be a "quiet wedding", far from the attendant noise that we are all expecting! If all things don't change as planned, the engagement would be done inside the living room of the bride's home in Abuja and the wedding ceremony and other events, would be at the Ballroom of the Aguda House in Abuja, the FCT, devoid of all the unnecessary noise and fanfare, paparazzi et al. Why both families have chosen to go this way, is only known to them. So all those expecting full Owambe mode, had better have a rethink. Maybe after this write-up though, things might change?

What we can tell you as a matter of fact for now though is that, Hajia Bola Shagaya the groom's mom, has jetted to  Dubai, the tourist capital of the UAE to do the required shopping to make this occasion a grand one???? As much as possible, at least to the limit that they can go.

We all know that she has been quiet for a bit now, reason been that some of her funds have been held up (that EFCC matter, remains hanging), which might have affected many things, but being a billionaire, that doesn't mean that there wouldn't still be a few hundreds of millions here and there to play with that's was kept somewhere. Apart from the paucity of funds, she being a friend to so many very powerful and super rich and influential people, especially someone like His Royal Majesty, The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, her very good friend, who she singlehandedly bought and gave a "Rolls Royce" to when he became the Emir as a gesture of friendship, when things were more robust, we can bet that all of these great people would rally around her now at this time. Maybe the Emir, might even use his influence to relax some unnecessary scrutiny around HAJIA, so that she can breathe a lot more easier.

One very good part of this wedding also is basically that, major part of the finances concerning the events, at whatever level it would go would be born by the bride's family, the Osinbajos, not because of their position, but because that the way it is in Yoruba tradition and culture. So Hajia would only just do as much as she can or wants to do, that's after she and her family might have done the normal statutory contributions expected of them towards the wedding..

Part of the good things about marrying the daughter of the Vice President, who is known to be the 2nd most powerful person in Government in Nigeria, would be that if there was ever any issue or problem whatsoever before with the Government in whatever form, those issues are likely to either be totally relaxed or they would disappear totally, completely and quietly, without a whimper. That's because you can't be one big happy family and you are still having an issue or a problem with a unit of that one big family or still pursuing a negative issue against yourself! So we are expecting that madam would soon exhale without difficult pretty soon!

Now that the countdown is only a few weeks away (March 15 & 17, 2018 being the dates), would the dad of the groom, Mr. Shina BakareB emerge and be involved in any way? In fact who is Shina Bakare? Where is he domiciled? Lagos, Ilorin, Abuja, Cotonou, India or the US?

The little we know about the dad of the groom is that he is/was a "globe trotting businessman' with tentacles that extended to "Cotonou, India and the US). He was a former Moslem who like his son got converted ti Christianity whilst "abroad" and he has since remarried. Though his whereabouts are not known, maybe he would appear at the wedding of his son to the highly cerebral, very well natured and behaved, gorgeous, eldest daughter of the VP.

Seun, the born again, Pastor in the making son of HAJIA Bola Shagaya a devout moslem, is one of Hajia's 5 sons, Sheriff, Hakeem, Seun, Kabir & Tolani, who are all doing very well first e themselves. The first 2 boys are married. While 3 of the boys are Shagayas, Seun the 3rd born is aa Bakare and one of the boys is a Saro.

Kabir the 4th born and 2nd to the last would be getting married also this year too, in May from the indications we have gotten. And we are expecting that would be another big wedding too.

The very close ally of at least 5 former first ladies, namely the late Maryam Babangida, Maryam Abacha, late Stella Obasanjo, Turai Yar'Adua and Dame Patience Jonathan is a lady of style, elegance and panache anyday and we are sure she would bring that to bear at this occasion too.

The very talented celebrity Deejay, who is also one of most eligible bachelorettes in Africa, only recently got her Master's degree at the University in 2016 in Music Business, that's in addition to her first degree in Business and Economics from King's College London, which she bagged in 2014.

At hand to watch their beautiful and very well mannered daughter receive her award were her proud parents, in Nana and Femi Otedola, who particularly seems to be looking more handsome as the years goes by.

Sometimes the old ones can live a particular beautiful dream of theirs via their kids, this most likely might be the case in the lives of the children of Femi Otedola.

Many might not have known her that much or heard her name as much as that of the other more popular two, in the persons of DJ Cuppy-Ifeoluwa Florence Otedola, the Celebrity Deejay and Temi Otedola, the top lifestyle blogger, but Tolani Otedola is the first born daughter and the eldest child of the certified Forbes billionaire, Femi Otedola.

Like the other 2, she's also very gorgeous too, a pretty girl by all standards and the eldest of the 3 gals, even older than the only son too. 

From the way the 3 daughters of FO, (which is one of the popular sobriquet by which Femi Otedola is addressed by most), have embraced their very creative and artistic sides, it is obvious that their parents have a very liberal leaning, unlike many of the kids of the super well to do, whose parents most often would have insisted that their kids should go find other meaningful things to do. So most likely FO might have had an agreement with his kids, that they finish school first, get your degrees and then thereafter go do whatever catches your fancy and I ll support you to the best of my abilities.

So as a star in the making, an emerging entertainment Sun, set to let her shine fall on all, she showcased her skills for the first time publicly yesterday, Friday, October 27, 2017 at that artistes enclave on Tiamiyu Savage, Victoria Island known to all as Terra Kulture.  Incidentally, that same street used to house FO's former business HQ- Zenon Oil head office.

This first showcase was a very privileged one at that, with the who-is-who of the business world attending to show support, to their friend and his daughter. The likes of Aliko Dangote, Samad Rabiu, Nduka Obaighena, Sam Iwuajoku, Segun Sebanjo, Aig Imohkuede, Herbert Wigwe, Mo Abudu, Dapo Balogun, Gbenga Oyebode, Tayo Ayeni, Bola Shagaya, Ijeoma Nwogwugwu, Muyiwa Bakare, Ladi Balogun, Niyi Adebayo, Donald Duke, Tunji Olowolafe, Aremo Segun Oniru, Mutiu Summonu, Biola Akinola and very many others all came and were all mesmerised! 

This emergence of a well supported budding new music talent, set like "Pinky & the Brain" to take over the world music stage, sure started on a good footing. Knowing her dad very well, if Tolani is as talented as she has displayed already, then we are sure that he would leave no stone unturned to make sure to help her realise her dream of becoming the "next international world music star" to emerge from Nigeria Africa.

Should we be expecting a "Grammy" award sometime in the future, from the Otedola's household? Never say never, is all we can readily respond with right now. But we can also say that for a first outing, she did give a good account of herself.
