FILM REVIEW- BAD BOYS - FOR LIFE FEATURING WILL SMITH & MARTIN LAWRENCE. Our fun MX4D experience at Film House Landmark Center

Moet Abebe

Derenle Edun

Seyi Shay

The Bad Boys franchise began a few years back and both of those flicks were great movies as they combined full throttle, non stop action with hilarious comedy, a fantastic, badass combo that won the 2 main men in the flicks a whole lot of fans then. So maybe a whole lot of people, including the new generation were craving for a reprise of a sort. Especially now, that a whole lot of movies have been disappointing, Many being just major anti-climax.

So we got invited to come be a part of the premiere of this new addition to the already successful franchise and we wanted to see the badass friends Will Smith and Martin Lawrence do their thing like they do it again and truth be told, from the bottom of our ♥ heart, we had fun and fun galore.

So the venue was Film House at Landmark Center. We had heard that they had opened the new cinema about a few weeks before, but hadn't had the opportunity to go there. We love going to the cinema a whole lot. In fact and very curiously so, it's one of our major way to relax, to chill out.

So when the invitation came we grabbed it with both hands and quickly too and off to the Landmark center we went. It's a cosy place no doubt. A good and more cosier rival to the Imax center in Lekki that we have always favored above all others before. Still quite new, so the seats were still very intact and the place was cool all round, in fact the convenience (gents) too! That's very important for me. Just as you enter the entrance of the cinema, is the 365 Lounge to your right, a very well appointed place we must say. It even has a covered open place outside too, where you could comfortably lounge if you so desire. The ticket consoles are to your immediate left as you go in. Then as you move in there's the Spur restaurant to your right, where I always enjoy their seafood platter and ahead of you is the stairs that leads to the cinema upstairs. It's a very well thought out place.

The movie BAD BOYS For Life, was supposed to start at 6pm, but we had arrived late, by at least an hour. So we had to wait for the next set (batch) of people to go in, which was for 8.30pm. So it was the opportunity for some backslapping and mingling over cocktails and the super yummy finger foods provided. The mingling area is quite cosy too, on each of the tables you could engage in some games while waiting if you so desire and there's a small bar place to serve one, if you want something.

We were in good company and in good spirit too, what can one do after having a good glass of rum on the rocks and coke. There was the super talented Seyi Shay, fashionista extraordinaire Idia Aisien, the quite gorgeous Funmi Ahmed, our very own Noble Igwe, the fun loving, super hilarious madcap Denrele Edun, Shade Ladipo, the ever stylish Denola and a host of many others. It was a packed house to say the least, in fact it was packed to the rafters like they say. Yummy sweet popcorn and soft drinks were already served, awaiting everyone on their seats and then we got down to the business of the day, the film itself.

Since it just came out, we cannot do the spoiler by saying too much about the movie, you just have to go watch it and we are already planning to go again ourself, with some people we watched the same together with. That already says so much. All we can say now is that, it was 2 and more hours very well spent time at the very nice cinema. We are most definitely going to be hanging out more at the Landmark Cinema a whole lot now.

A brief idea of what we think about this movie. Action packed from the get go and super hilarious too. The twin comedic juggernaut Will Smith (Mike Lowery) and Martin Lawrence (Marcus Burnett), who is a bit chubbier now served us well. It was "pulsatingly" good and fun at the same time. The acting bang on. The new crew (The Ammo Team) did great too. Viking's King Ragnar's fierce 1st son (Bjorn Ironside) was a computer geek with badass strength here in Vad Boys. Though Martin Lawrence character (Marcus) was a lot more subdued action wise in this part of the series, he was still at his comedic best. The more older Will (Mike) is still a Bad Boy for Life, still a hothead, who would still jump into a situation before now thinking it through while in it. The combo villains, made up of a handsome young well buffed, action packed dude and a crafty lady witch were badass. That prison scene was epic!

The scenes were masterclass, especially the chase and all. And because the MX4D is so immersive and classy, you get to feel the adrenaline, all of the moves and action as they occur as your seats moves and things. You get to smell the fire, feel the air, it's like you are literally touching the atmosphere. Camera angles were excellent too. I already feel like going to Miami!!!!

Maybe Porsche must have paid good money to feature in this movie, the gorgeousness of their car was in excellent display. Even Dell Computers too, as their name was not covered. The directors delivered a great action packed fun movie and the actors were on point, in their element. Yes, it wouldn't win an Oscar, but it should most definitely make their $90m budget back without a whimper. And we watched it at a good place too. Kudos to Film House for a good ambience and great atmosphere. You have won yourself a lifetime friend and supporter. Silverbird needs to come learn from you guys.

The general consensus about the film and the cinema was, "A super great movie in a very nice place".

In fact many are coming back for many reprises!!!! 🤩

Bad Boys bad boys what you gonna do, what you gonna do, when we come for you......

WHEN THE STARS SHONE DOWN AT THE WIVES ON STRIKE REVOLUTION PREMIERE!

....with Mo Abudu, Tonye Cole & guest

Toyin Abraham & Omoni Oboli

Mr & Dr.Mrs Tony Elumelu & Omoni Oboli

Despite the stress occasioned due to the petrol scarcity issue, the stars and celebrities defied all odds to attend the premiere of the sequel to the "Wives on Strike" film produced by one of the biggest names in the industry, in the person of the gorgeous "Omoni Oboli".

This new installment is titled "Wives on Strike revolution", and the message it tries to pass across is focused on the ills of domestic violence, though the film is comedic in nature, it still had a social message it wanted to pass across. The first installment which had been very well received, was focused on the ills of "child marriage" and it was very well received too, which might have been the reason for this sequel.

Wives on strike revolution has a hilarious comedic slant that would appeal to all and sundry, whilst passing the message across so easily also too. It stars such wonderful thespians like the irrepressible Sola Sobowale, the very versatile Ufuoma McDermott, the hilarious Odunlade Kolade, the comedic genius Julius 'the genius' Agwu, Kenneth Okonkwo, Chioma Akpotha, Elvina Ibru, Toyin Abraham, Uche Jumbo Rodriguez, the ever funny Chigul, Saka and Omoni Oboli herself.

The roll call of those that attended the premiere was staggering, it was led by the Minister for Information, Tourism & Culture himself, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, billionaire chairman of UBA and chairman of Heirs Holdings Tony Elumelu and wife, Executive Director at Sahara Energy Tonye Cole, Biola Alabi, Ali Baba and Mary Akpobome, Moyo Lawal, Susan Peters, founder and MD of Ebony Life TV Mo Abudu, the super talented OC Ukeje and very many others.

The film was so good according to those that attended, that at the end it got a standing ovation.

Kudos to Omoni Oboli, casts and crew for a good job well done. Maybe this is the movie that would give "The Wedding Party 2 Destination Dubai" a major run for its money.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde our very own Jessica Rabbit

Omo-Sexy

Mr & Mrs. Ekeinde

Omo-Sexy & husband flanked by a few of the BBN 2017 crew
Jessica Rabbit
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde is probably Nigeria's biggest thespian by all standards. She has surpassed the levels of all others by miles. She's probably our most visible "actor" male or female in the world.

She recently had the premiere of her new film-Alter Ego. The venue of the well attended event was the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, date was 07/07/2017.

As expected the super talented role player and lady with the intimidating structure (curves) and all, dazzled all comers with her outfits for the occasion.

She had 2 changes of clothes, one was in her favorite colour of "tomato red", looking delectably ravishing and the other was a subdued black outfit with gold shimmers, which bedazzled to no small effect.  We all know that red can be a killer colour or terribly trashy and unforgiven if not well sown or worn well, but on this occasion, as expected it drapped sumptuously on those sexy curves, highlighting all the best details perfectly and lit up Omo-sexy in a sexilicious way that's not in any way near trashy. Kudos to her and her stylist.

She was accompanied by her ever supportive rock, her husband, Captain Ekeinde, who himself was a dapper dude in blue suit, worn with white shirt and a red tie.  Gorgeous couple we are very happy to say.

We got a few of the pictures for your viewing delight.

The Inimitable Denrele Edun

AY in his element

AY's younger brother and Designer Yomi Makun

Ace comedian Ayo Makun aka AY, didn't allow the recent fiasco that had happened a few days before this premiere disturb him or even slowed his strides at all.

The premiere was done to usher in the latest installment in his venture into movies, this particular one is tagged "10 days in SunCITY" which was done with a lot of fanfare, with guests attending in torrents

Venue of the premiere was the Federal Palace Hotel, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos, and day was Saturday, June 17, 2017.

Some had speculated that AY's wife might not be in attendance due to the hoopla that had occurred days before the event, but the naysayers & bad belle people were thoroughly disappointed as she was at the occasion in her stylish glory and looked as stunning as ever.

We covered the event for your viewing pleasure.

OUT AND ABOUT AT THE ISOKEN'S VERY COLOURFUL PREMIERE

Dakore Akande & Funke Akindele

Rita Dominic

Layole Oyatogun

AY

Kayla Oniwo

Mo'chedda

If the turn out of gaily dressed and sumptuously colourful and beautiful people alone can guarantee the success of a film, then ISOKEN should soon become the most successful movie ever premiered.

The stars came out in their droves and were on point totally on the style stake and we greatly commend them for making the effort.

From Dakore Akande, to Rita Dominic and loads of others, that included the very handsome and always stylish Denola, the ever stylish Mo'chedda and many others it was like it was a fashion event and not just a PREMIERE.

ISOKEN has the very delectable and consumate thespian, Dakore Akande and the Inimitable Benjamin Joseph as lead characters . The film is a Tribe85 Production and Film is by Jade Osiberu Films. Theme of the premiere was "African Royalty". And like we said earlier, the guests obviously made a conscious effort.

WEEKEND GETAWAY BY INI EDO PREMIERED

Congratulations to one of Nigeria's most hardworking actresses, in the person of Ini Edo. On the occasion of the premiere of her new film production titled- Weekend Getaway. We weren't around to see the new film at the premiere, but we heard that the turn out was great and that the film was a good one and that it was very well produced. That's another gong up the sleeve of the gorgeous actress.

We would just want to commend her and wish her the best in her future endeavours, we believe there's still more great things to come from her. However, we would love to confirm from the hardworking actress and now film producer, the truth about the rumour in town that the new production that was shot in its entirety in her home state Akwa Ibom, cost her a whooping 60 Million Naira. And also, if it is true that a certain State Government gave the full financial support.

If it is true, it must mean that certain State Government(s) are really doing their best in support of industry, which is a good sign.

Thanks, as we hear the truth.
