Arise Magazine Fashion Week 2011 has been the most anticipated event of the year and Arise/ThisDay team delivered on their promise of an African Fashion week with all the pomp and pageantry. This fashion extravaganza has brought so much joy and pride to us as Africans and Nigerians in particular.

3 Gbosas to Nduka Obaigbena for changing the fashion landscape in Africa and giving us a renewal and re-birth of our passion for the industry. Move over Gucci, Watch out Chanel , Bye Dior because we are taking over.

The show started late(African time) but it was worth the wait.

If the 3 day fashion and style extravaganza would be judged only by the sheer numbers of those who came to see what was up, then it should be considered a major success, because people turned out in large numbers, and were ready to outdo each other in the style stakes.
We at MM thinks that with the success of this maiden edition, though with its small teething problems, it should be made a regular and most probably a twice in the year thing like most of its counterpart in other parts of the world and we can bet, it would become a major money spinner and job provider for many, so if not for anything, Arise and Thisday, with Nduka Obaigbena as the publisher/chairman must be commended for a job well done. Here is part 1 of those who were part of the 3 days extravaganza.
