Yours truly had exclusively broken this story last week about John Fashanu and Abigail Igwe having gotten married. John Fashanu is the tall and handsome ex-footballer, who is now retired and a business man, he is said to now own a business at the federal capital city in Abuja, where he is said to have invested in an hotel business amongst several other business ventures he is supposedly engaged in.
He is also a sport and tourism Ambassador for Nigeria, most often he is in Nigeria now from his former UK base. While the new Mrs Fashanu, is none other than Ex-Mrs Abigail Igwe, an Abuja based barrister at law,who owns her own chamber at the Federal Capital City, Abuja and is the gorgeous mom of the still excitingly beautiful ex-most beautiful girl in Nigeria: Adaeze Yobo, the young wife of the captain of the Nigerian football team:Joseph Yobo.
We learnt the two love birds met several years ago, and had been friends for quite a while, many who used to see them together had always speculated whether something was going on between the 2, but had not been able to confirm there was a relationship.
The couple just a few weeks ago, made the very important decision, have exchanged marital vows, saying I do to each other at a marriage registry in Abuja, though it was just the 2 of them that witnessed the quick ceremony, we hear the kids on both side were privy to the decisions taken by their respective parents and gave their support. While the new Mrs Fashanu had been separated from her husband for quite a while now, she is said to have perfected her divorce proceedings about 9 years ago, John Fashanu was said to have divorced his former wife a Congolese beauty over a decade ago.
Between the couple, there are about 8 kids and from what we have learnt, though many friends and family members, would have loved to celebrate with the 2 love birds, but only heard about it when they read about it in the papers, we can tell them exclusively, that what was done was the traditional engagement ceremony and the registry, there is still to come a much bigger white wedding which is planned for later in the year, and friends and family would be in attendance at that particular ceremony.
