CHIWETEL EJIOFOR |
2 of the biggest cast members of the film adaptation of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's Half of a Yellow Sun are the cover personalities on TW Magazine May 2014 edition. Both are accomplished thespians of the best kind.
This month’s cover stars are none other than the man of the moment Chiwetel Ejiofor & his Half Of A Yellow Sun co-star Thandie Netwon. Fresh off his BAFTA award win for Best Actor, Oscar nomination and a super busy awards season that saw him walk red carpets and attend award shows from London to Los Angelese. Chiwetel visited Nigeria recently to premiere the movie adaptation of the Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie novel of the same name.
Losing
his father at the very young age of 11, Chiwetel opens up for the first time
about how his mother (Obiajulu Ejiofor) raised him and his siblings alone; and
how the movie Half Of A Yellow Sun, (HOAYS) resonates with him. His then
13-year-old mother was directly affected by the Biafra war in which she lost a
brother. Chiwetel also speaks candidly about growing up in a very Nigerian
household and his hopes for the Nigerian film industry, which he plans to be a
part of.
