People, that is those who believe in the messages of the various men of God who always look into their crystal ball to check what the year holds in store for them, for their community, for their country, are always eager to hear what would happen during the year so they can atleast plan or prepare ahead for any eventualities. One of those men of God that people always look forward to hear from is none other than the fiery and uncompromising Father Ejike Mbaka and as expected he has delivered his message for 2020 and one of the things he said, as elicited major shock already, with people wondering aloud, how possible what he has said would happen.

The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu of Nigeria, Father Ejike Mbaka delivered a banger of a message a day and few hours ago, as he predicted that Senator Hope UZODINMA, the APC candidate at the last election where the current Governor was declared as the winner will dislodge the incumbent, Emeka Ihedioha, as Imo State Governor.

Senator Hope Uzodinma like we already said before was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the 2019 governorship election in Imo State, while Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, who was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, flew the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Father Mbaka, who spoke during the crossover mass at the Adoration Ground, Enugu, spoke thus: “Many things are going to happen in Nigeria this 2020 that will shock countrymen and countrywomen, but all would be to God’s glory.

“In spite of all that would happen, there is hope.
“In Imo State, there is hope. Hope, hope, hope in Imo!

“Imo people have suffered but God is raising a new hope that would be an agent of salvation for them.
“He’s coming with a new flag to restore the dignity of that noble land.
“A new leadership that will break barriers and there would be joy in the land of Imo.

“Lift your candles as I bless Hope Uzodinma and I empower him to, spiritually, take over.
“How, I do not know?

“Please, if you heard that there would be a new government in Imo and you don’t like the message, if I say Hope, you can say hopeless, but do not fight me.
“I am saying this in respect of those who may want to come after me.”

SEYI MAKINDE OYO STATE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR DECLARES N48B PERSONAL ASSETS

The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday made good his campaign promise to publicly declare his assets.

The governor, who visited the Oyo State office of the Code of Conduct Bureau in Ibadan to receive a copy of the asset declaration form, said his decision to make the assets public was in fulfillment of his electoral promise.

Details of the assets as contained in the CCB 1 with the name Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, was declared at the High Court of Oyo State, on May 28, 2019.

The assets declaration form, marked OYSE/2019/001 contained details of cash at hand, in the bank, landed properties (developed and undeveloped), household items, share and bonds owned by the governor and his wife, Omini Makinde, as well as his companies.

According to a statement containing the details of the asset form made public by the Chief Press Secretary to Makinde, Mr Taiwo Adisa, the governor of Oyo State has cash at hand and in the bank worth N234, 742,296.01, as of May 28, 2019.

In dollar terms, the governor had $30,056.99 as of the same date.

The statement added that properties and household items indicated on the asset forms showed that the governor was worth N2, 624,800,500.

In dollars, the governor declared properties and household items worth $4,400,000.

In South African Rands, the governor declared buildings and household items worth R4,400,057,550,04 .

The statement said, “The houses declared by the governor includes nine buildings in Nigeria, two in the United States of America and one in South Africa.

“One of the properties in the United States is described as ‘jointly owned.’

“The details showed the current value of Makinde’s companies stand at N48,150,736,889, with 33,730,000 units of shares as of May 28, 2019.

“The governor also has existing bonds (Eurobond) worth $3,793,500 as well as shares, debentures and other securities valued at N120,500,000.

“The companies listed by the governor include Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited, Energy Traders and Technical Services Limited, Makon Oil and Gas Limited, Makon Group Limited, Makon Construction Limited and Makon Power System Limited.”

The asset declaration form indicated that Makinde’s four companies had additional assets denominated as loan notes, including Makon Engineering and Technical Services Limited(N1.7 bn); Makon Power System Limited(N148.4 m); Makon Oil and Gas Limited(N34m); Energy Traders and Technical Services Limited(N1.159bn) totalling N3.389bn.

EKITI'S STATE GOVERNOR DR. KAYODE FAYEMI EMERGES AS THE NEW NGF'S PRESIDENT.

His profile has continued to soar high since he came back for his 2nd term as the Executive Governor of Ekiti State after taking over from rabble-rouser extraordinaire, Peter "the rock" Ayodele Fayose.

At least Ekiti is not just in the news for just about anything anymore, peace and normalcy had since taken over and people are seemingly just moving about doing their things quietly.

And now the very calm, highly cerebral Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has added another feather to his enviable cap after emerging unanimously as the new chairman of the quite influential Nigeria's Governors Forum (NGF). The news of his emergence  wouldn't have been anything extraordinary had it not being that its the "first time in the history of the NGF that a Governor from the SW would be occupying such a position". And with Dr. Kayode Fayemi being an expert in war & conflict resolution, he would bring that expertise to bear on his colleagues as the Governors would engage all other arms of Government. So it's a very very positive and very welcomed development. The days of unnecessary confrontations without necessarily achieving anything, might just be long gone afterall.

The new NGF chairman is known to be a very good ally of the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, who he served meritoriously as a Minister for Solid Minerals. before he resigned to vie again for the Governorship of his state.

The new chairman was nominated for the post by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, who was seconded by the Governor of DELTA state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. He would be leading the NGF for the next 2years till 2021.

Also elected as the Vice-chairman of the forum was the Governor of Sokoto state, Governor Aminu Tambuwal, who was nominated by the outgoing Governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode who was seconded by the Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu.

In his acceptance remark, Dr. Fayemi expressed his gratitude for the confidence reposed on him by his colleagues.

He then pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessors and success stories of the forum.

“We will build on commitments with strong partnership with the Federal Government as federating unit and trash out issues as amicably as possible, in the over all interest of the country,” he said.

He then pledged that they would represent the interests of Nigeria irrespective of their political affiliations.

“Whatever we are going to do will be in overall interest of the nation in ensuring that our states are continuously strengthened,”

“Our country derives the benefit of strong, dedicated states to our citizens and the partnership with all arms of government, development partners working with us in the over all interest of Nigeria.

He commended the outgoing chairman of the forum and the secretariat for their commitment to states and Nigeria at large.

Kudos to Dr. Kayode Fayemi on a well deserved appointment. And some have even begun to look forward and ahead already as far as 2023 & are believing the calm mien of the Ekiti state Governor might just be leading him towards the presidency.

Would it happen or wouldn't it happen? Let's just wait and see, for like they say, time is the judge.

What is more curious though is that a coalition that's not too favorable inclined towards Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is gradually day by day gaining more and more access to power and influence. 

WHY SO MUCH HATRED FOR FATIMA AJIMOBI?

Mennnnnn some people are so unforgiving and it's so crazy, totally totally crazy!!!!! ! The kind of war that this young, married lady of just 25 years old by name Fatima Ajimobi new Ganduje has been fighting is unpretentiously unbelievable!

Why so much hate (hatred), anger towards someone that is seemingly innocent just for the perceived sins of the father? Who is the current Executive Governor of Kano State, who just recently won a 2nd term as Governor though according to many in seeming controversial circumstances, is a wonder.

Being her father's daughter (child), one who loves her dad and family to bits, one who sees her father in another light (pure light), different & away from the public perception of him, which she might consider contrary, wrong and untruthful. Don't people think if she can or could and if she has the platform to use that can get across to a large number of people, she would defend his honour and that of her family?

And so in doing what she thinks is right, then a whole lot of anonymouses, people wearing masks so that they cannot be identified for who they really are, are falling on her like a tempest, sweeping in like a terrible hurricane, wanting to leave bad news behind, these people have been unsparing and totally vicious towards Fatima with their super scathing comments and terrible remarks. Mennnnnn. Na wa ooooo. 

Ambode: A Bull in a China Shop - Olawale Olaleye

If after watching Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s world press conference, which concluded a few minutes ago and you still did not think he is unworthy of a second chance, then, you are corruptly limited in your understanding of the inherent issues that are standing imposingly against this churlish governor.

Let’s start with his demeanor. It was very ungubernatorial. There is no debating that. His utterances were totally uncouth, childish and boorish. He left even the undiscerning without any jot of doubt that he is what he currently is: a bull in a china shop – evidently frustrated.

For the short period that the news conference lasted, coupled with the fact that the question and answer session might have been ‘arranged’ as it is always the style, I was glued to the screen observing only his countenance and the environmental nuances and all I saw was a man very well determined to destroy whatever it was that he met in the party and the government in the name of a second term, which is not a right but privilege.

Of course, it clearly does appear that he is unable to distinguish between right and privilege and by crossing the line of decency whilst struggling to make his warped points, thus unrestrainedly throwing impossible darts at his opponent, says a lot about who he truly is. He has been misconstrued all along. Whoever prepped him for that session is a disaster in public relations and image management.

Imagine a governor saying an opponent from the same party, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was once at a rehab? The same Ambode alleged to have a case file at a psychiatric centre during the 2014 campaigns and the entire party formation rallied round him? But he had the indecency of reckless abandon to land such a hard punch.

He didn’t stop there. He also regaled us with the story how Sanwo-Olu once spent fake dollars in the US and was arrested. But how come he was quick to forget he allegedly defaulted in the payment of a mortgage, aside other immoral details of his escapades that were considered unbefitting of a governorship candidate but ‘killed’ for his ambition to thrive?

For me, Ambode just confirmed a saying in Yoruba that where a family still savours a modicum of peace, do not celebrate; it is only so because the one child in that family with questionable paternity is yet to attain puberty. So, Ambode is willing to watch APC die, because the party that gave him the opportunity to be governor, when he was the least qualified asks him to stand down this second term?

Put differently the fact that Ambode is the sitting governor of Lagos State, he is on every count at a disadvantage in this battle and those with him are sure losers. Lest he forgets, the party can on account of this poorly conceived press conference expel him and that would be the end. What would follow is an impeachment and heaven would not fall.

Whichever way, he has brazenly declared a war on the party and should not expect the party not to fight back. Running to Abuja is in itself an error. Abuja didn’t make him governor. If he had expected that those who made him governor the first time would listen to Abuja to grant him re-election, then, he is both a joker and a learner.

It is common knowledge that Abuja can barely stand his benefactor, Bola Tinubu, the man who did not know him from anywhere before making him governor. So, conceding such a sensitive decision to them would mean, Ambode wouldn’t need to check with his estranged benefactor again on anything. He would simply bypass him and take orders from Abuja since he owes his second term to them. Honestly, he has proven to be unworthy of that seat, let alone, secure a re-election.

That press conference was meant to be his ace. He had a rare opportunity to not only secure more public sympathy, but reset the mood in the APC. But he blew it all and set the stage for a battle he had long lost. He is naturally a terrible person. He just proved me right.

Everything about his disposition justifies this position. He is an ungrateful lot and innately dreadful. His desperation is akin to that of the anti-Christ and has taken a step that would destroy everything he ever stood for. Never again would the name – Ambode – resonate in the annals of the body polity. Too petty to be called governor.

Importantly, the person to pick the greatest lesson here is Asiwaju Tinubu. Perhaps, Babatude Fashola’s words on marble: ‘May our loyalty never be tested’ would begin to convey instructive meanings to him. He did not know Ambode from anywhere, but he bought into his idea just because one of his trusted allies, Prince Eludoyin, recommended him.

Today, even the said Prince Eludoyin is no longer in talking terms with him. Ambode must be a helplessly terrible lot. Yet, for a man he could not vouch for, Tinubu left those who had been with him since 1999 and went for a total stranger. Good for him!

Pray he comes out of this unhurt, he must have learnt his lessons the hardest way. Please, make no mistake – Ambode has gone on this offensive, because he probably has something with which he plans to finish off Tinubu and co as he forges ahead in this battle. He doesn’t plan to go down alone. He intends to drag one or two persons with him.

Therefore, the days ahead promise to be interesting, and even more so, this current Lagos drama offers a rare lesson in political godfatherism. I know Ambode has so many hidden supports unknown to the Tinubu group, including Abuja and some former governors and their allies alike, but I also know for sure that this is one battle Ambode cannot win and I can hedge my biggest bet ever.

He is not even anywhere close to the inner caucus that ordinarily delivers the most intricate political assignments in the state. Indeed, Ambode does not know or cannot explain how he even emerged governor of the state. Some people delivered that job and that is the ace that Tinubu and his clique have over him.

Sadly, Ambode is too deceived by his current place of advantage to know that he is not an asset. Even if he quits the APC and leaves for another party, a character like him with awful attitudinal disposition is not what anyone or party can put forward as a poster face. His rebellion will only heighten the stakes and increase the frenzy of intrigues in the state; it would change nothing about the status quo, ultimately.

Even if Asiwaju’s empire would be rested eventually, it is not now let alone an even worse character like Ambode with utterly defective human relations that would orchestrate that! The earlier he knows this, the better. But then, we shall wait to see how you’d pull this off tomorrow, Governor Ambode, since you see not your palpable failings but overrated stellar performance amidst this crass elevation of mediocrity.

ZENITH BANK PLC MD IN THE EYE OF THE STORM OVER ACCUSATIONS OF AIDING & ABETTING FRAUD & CORRUPTION IN RIVERS STATE.

Not the best of times for the Managing Director of one of Nigeria's biggest financial institutions founded by billionaire banker Jim Ovia right now and the reason for the MD's troubles are not far-fetched as he and had his bank has been accused of aiding and abetting the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike to launder a staggering sum of 100 (One hundred) billion from the State's treasury since 2015.

Mr. Peter Amangbo, who is the Group MD of the Bank over the weekend was over the weekend taken into custody by the fraud busting organisation the EFCC for the failure to properly document the suspicious transactions and report them also to the authorities as statutorily required by the Money Laundering Act of 2011.

It is said that the GMD has been in the custody of the EFCC in Abuja since Friday. According to the report, the total some of 117 Billion was gradually removed in cash over time by officials at different times since June 2015 and ZENITH Bank made a staggering 5.2 billion Naira from the suspicious deal.

Over 50 cheques in 10 million Naira tranches were issued and cashed all in one day in several instances! Others apart from the GMD of ZENITH bank that the EFCC wants for questioning are the officials of Rivers state Government.

While the bank and the EFCC officials have not officially responded, the Governor of Rivers has however stated that no officials of the his Government would report to the EFCC to be grilled until they set aside a judgement of the Rivers State Government against them in 2007.

Until that judgement is set aside, they would not come says the Governor.

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on Sunday flagged off the expansion of the ABAT Truck Terminal in Orile Iganmu, assuring that work would be accelerated on the 1000-capacity terminal to take trucks parked indiscriminately on the roads and bridges.

Governor Ambode, who led an extensive inspection of ongoing projects across the State that last for about six hours, said the expansion of the Terminal was one of the resolutions reached at the recent meeting with stakeholders, especially in the Maritime sector on finding lasting solutions to take containerized trucks permanently off the roads, a development that is majorly responsible for the gridlock in the Apapa area.

The Governor said: "One of the resolutions is that we should have authorised truck Terminal Park and so my visit to this place today is to flag off the reconstruction of this terminal so that we can accommodate 1000 trucks.

"We would do this in collaboration with the Nigeria Ports Authority so that the call-up system can work efficiently. The expansion we are adding to this particular terminal in which we have decided to acquire the adjoining land, we would use that primarily for non-petroleum trucks so that we can sectionalized these trucks and allow the call-up system to work.

"This is just part of the efforts that the State Government is making to make sure this Apapa gridlock and the truck menace becomes a thing of the past permanently."

Governor Ambode also disclosed that the State Government has concluded plans to utilise an expanse of land in Ijanikin area with a capacity to accommodate at least 5,000 trucks.

"I have just been briefed that we have an additional land space in Ijanikin that can accommodate 5000 trucks. We will explore that possibility immediately; all that we are doing is just to make sure that there is a permanent solution to this whole idea of trucks destroying our bridges and roads," he said.

It must be very well understood though that, Bisola's shining didn't just start now or even when her dad became a Governor oooooo, no oooooo not at all, far from it. She was already a rising star, a shinning star at that, already on the projectile before her whole family came into the limelight, having being0 a friend to the friends of the number 1, American TV reality series stars, the Kardashains. So no be today oooooo at all!

Abisola Abiola-Ajimobi as she was known then before she got married, had been representing since her days in Anerica and she continued after she got married well too, to one of the sons of the  well known and well respected, Ibadan multimillionaire businessman, Chief Kola Daisi, in the person of the suave and handsome investment banker, Kolapo Kola-Daisi.

In fact, her well appointed store in Victoria Island by the name Florence-H located on Shehu Musa Y'Adua, can rival any of the top stores that does the same things abroad, either in Paris, London, New York, Monaco, Rome or Tokyo! We mean very well that when you are in the store, you are immediately transported like you are in one of those international stores abroad. That's not all, Abisola also owns a very well-planned, well-thought out, very well appointed, very well stocked supermarket, on 2 floors in a whole building on Fola Osibo Street, Lekki-Phase 1. You are too sure to get anything you desire for at this well-stocked supermarket. And It does not just end there, as she is also a part of her sister's (Bimbo) standard bakery too, though not much! But from all indications, she also owns her own very private event and lifestyle brand, that brand put together during the year her first ever luxury lifestyle market fair, which was an outstanding success! It still does not end there, as we heard that Bisola's brand handled her younger brother's out of this world's billion Naira wedding, which got everyone salivating and saluting for an impressive job well done. It was class and distinction all the way during the many days occasion. From Kano to Ibadan, it was topnotch and everything worked out perfectly, at least that supported the saying that "good soup na money kill am"! From all indications she must have made some cool money from handling that event alone, which had 2 Governors and their families uniting in holy matrimony!

And from information we could still gather, all the businesses we have mentioned are only the very public ones, we hear the quiet and quite shrewd businesswoman might still have a hand in some other quite interesting and money making pies too, that might not be known or thar are yet to be unveiled.

So know now, when you see Abisola lounging or luxuriating, or having some very exclusive fun me time, at some of those spots you dream of going to or when you see her decked top to toe, from her head to her heels in some of those outfits that makes you want to eat your heart out, know very well also that she's worked so hard for the money (singing in Donna Summers voice), so you had better treat her right and not speculate unnecessarily. What we know for certain is that Abisola is a fashionista and style maven to the core and maybe a bit restricted in fact by the fact that she's the daughter of a serving Governor. That fact alone might not have allowed her to soar like a free bird like she would have wanted. One thing we can tell you for free also is that her jewelry game is not for kids at all, although not for her the vulgar outlandish and in your face ones, that shouts at all to see and bow, but those who knows know the real real and the authentic McCoy.

To round it all up, believe it or not, Abisola is a serious, very prayerful Christian, following after her mom's faith as her dad is a practising Moslem.

IS SUPO SHASORE THE MAN TO GIVE AKINWUNMI AMBODE A RUN FOR HIS MONEY IN LAGOS COME 2019?

Come 2019 in Lagos, the centre of Excellence (some say state of aquatic excellence) is going to be very very interesting. That year which is only a few more months away is when the elections would happen again. It would be interesting in that the fight to retain 2 major positions in the polity are going to be interesting and these 2 positions are that of the President of the country and that of the Governor of our beloved state, Lagos.

Interestingly also again, both states are under the rulership of the same party the APC. While the Federal Government under President Muhammad Buhari GCFR as been bashed rather badly on all sides by both the opposition, his own party and his family (wife), Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on the otherside has enjoyed relatively a lot of kudos from everyone and everywhere for doing a yore man's job and the testaments for an extraordinary job(s) well done liters the whole state on all corners. We can saw very loudly and bodly that, there's no Local Government Area in Lagos that have not felt the magic of tge man called Ambode. And more testaments, from the looks of things would begin to pour in, in torrents also, like an unstoppable avalanche, like a flood in a tempest, to sweep all off their feet for good all through the year till 2019 and even beyond. Some of the projects embarked upon have been mind-blowing and unprecedented in the history of Lagos and Nigeria and as they are finished and launched they would leave mouth agape in wonderment.

Can anyone from Epe possibly vote for another to replace Ambode, this is after the mind boggling transformation he has brought to that part of Lagos, that those in that area are willing to testify to at any given time? Would anyone or anybody for that matter in Alimosho vote for any other, after the obvious transformation Ambode has brought to bear in that axis alone on road repairs and development? There are other areas we haven't mentioned yet and other projects that would be launched systematically from now till 2019 nearly on a per monthly basis for all to see.. Is it about roads built and are still been built all around Lagos? Is it about what was spent to boost security and safety with tangible evidence available for all to see? What about those ingenious lay-bys? The light up Lagos is totally unbelievable to say the least! Even the opposition in Lagos have become comatose quiet! What about that well funded very obvious Rescue unit (LRU). That world class Ikeja Bus Terminus, one out of severals is astonishing! And there are still more things to point at.

But has this Governor and Government done enough to totally endear them to the people to stick out their neck again for them for a 2nd round, 2nd time, 2nd term, come 2019? We do emphatically think  so. Let some of the on going projects get finished and launched and come ask the question again afterwards.

So is Supo Shasore, the eminent legal practitioner going to run as been speculated? He has not declared officially his intention for now, so we don't know yet, things as at now are just based on mere speculations. Would this friend and supposed very close ally of the former action Governor of Lagos State, in the person of the current Minister for Works, Housing and Power, Honourable Minister, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN run against his former colleague in Government in the person of the incumbent? We don't know yet. On which party platform would he want to prosecute this his tall ambition, if and whenever he declares it? We don't also know. This is because as at the last time we checked, he was a member of the same party, the APC as the Governor or maybe things have since changed and he is now a member of another party in the opposition! Would the endorsement of Governor emeritus, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu count for something in the coming battle? Who else, if not Ambode would ASIWAJU give his full and unflinching support and loyalty to?

Supo Shasore, the eminent SAN was the attorney general of Lagos State from 2007 till 2011 in the administration of Babatunde Raji Fashola, he was one of those technocrats BRF brought on board to dazzle Lagos as at that time. And he gave a good account of himself in the ministry he was in charge of, he was later somewhat promoted as the preferred candidate of the then outgoing BRF who had thought it was his job to pick his own successor, but he (Supo Shasore) seemingly lost out to the intrigues that arose from who ASIWAJU supported and didn't or who the godfather preferred for the position of Governor.

What would Supo Shasore be likely to want to bring on board that Akinwunmi Ambode does not have? Intellectual capacity wise, both men are at par. Whilst Shasore is a brilliant legal practitioner who has risen enviably to the pinnacle of his profession by becoming a SAN & owning his own chambers, and is currently a partner at African Law Partners, a super reputable law firm. Ambode is a super brilliant accountant, who also rose to the pinnacle of the profession by becoming the auditor general of Local government in his state at a point, he later went on to become the Permanent Secretary Finance Lagos State, then later rose to become the Accountant-General in Lagos State, not forgetting that he graduated from the University with a first class degree. He was an honours student as a secondary school student (FGGC Warri) with one of the best results in West Africa. While Shasore as acquitted himself in private and public practice, Ambode has shown his class as a public administrator at all levels imaginable, from Local Government administration till he rose to become the Chief Executive of the most prominent and richest state in Nigeria, richer than many of the other states combined. Presiding over an economy that is bigger than most of all West African states combined.

Mano a mano (Man-on-man) can Ambode take on Shasore without any help from anywhere, especially if no inteference or support from any godfather (BAT or BRF),.. ....Yes!most definitely yes! The only advantage that Supo Shasore might have over Akinwunmi Ambode now is just that he is blessed more with the gift of eloquence. Both men are 54 years old, with Ambode slightly older by about 5 plus months.

So should the supporters of Ambode be worried with the seeming emergence of Supo Shasore as a candidate in the next election? Most definitely no, unless of course if Ambode should lose the tacit support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, thr National leader of his party, maybe then a bit of worry should begin to set in. It was during the adminstration of Asiwaju that Ambode was the Accountant General, when and where he showed his mettle meritoriously. Also maybe if the Governor would initiate some major anti-people actions which might shift the people's support away from him, unless these 2 major issues, he seems to have captured for good the mindset of the people who are in the majority to vote him in for the next election, for a 2nd term which some have already tagged well deserved.

The bigger question now though is if truly Senator Remi Tinubu is going to become the next deputy Governor of Lagos State? Also how would Senator Musiliu Obanikoro be accomodated in the next election? Lastly, does Senator Ashafa still have the full support of Asiwaju to go again for the Senate? What's also the lot of Senator GOS in the whole scheme of things come 2019? Now that Dr. Muiz Banire is seen as a renegade sort of, what's his future in the APC going to be like? 

GOVERNOR ROCHAS OKOROCHA TURNS GOVERNANCE UPSIDE DOWN NAMES SISTER AS COMMISSIONER FOR HAPPINESS

He is known as someone that doesn't care what you think of him. He doesn't care whose ox is gored as he just does his thing his own way.

Maybe the Governor of Imo State, Chief Rochas Okorocha has listened to that hit by Frank Sinatra (My Way) too much, that all he does now is to do everything his own way, without caring how he is perceived.

He has again defied convention and maybe definition. Not too long ago he sacked all his Commissioners, in order to inject new blood into his administration in her 2nd term. So he has just named and sworn in new Commissioners, 28 of them in total and also 27 transition committee chairmen to man the 27 Local Councils in his state.

Amongst the newly sworn in Commissioners was his own blood sister by name Mrs. Ogechi Ololo nee Okorocha. Agreed, there's nothing wrong in having all one family members as Government officials in the real sense of it, the proviso should be competence, but when the new ministry such a one would be in charge of is called "Ministry of Happiness and Couples' Fulfillment", then it beggars belief! 

Maybe the new spokesperson of the state, Prof Nnamdi Obiaraeri would hit the ground running by letting us know, what this new Ministry is all about! Sharing of Happiness by the Government of Imo then making couples fulfilled! One hope this doesn't just say something about people from Imo State.

There had been hoopla and uproar about the unneccesary statues he was building up and down that had no significance or economic value, now this appointment takes the cake.

Before this new appointment of "Come make we all chop", Madam Ololo was her brother's Deputy Chief of staff and special adviser on domestic and internal affairs and was also the Imo state chairman of Food security, maybe in those positions she had given exemplary service warranting this promotion to do more.  

GRIDLOCK: LAGOS BEGINS EVACUATION OF ARTICULATED VEHICLES ON APAPA- OSHODI EXPRESSWAY

In its determination to ensure free flow of traffic and safety on the road, the Lagos State Government on Wednesday commenced the process of clearing Apapa-Mile 2 axis of illegal parking of tankers and articulated vehicles.

This action, the Government said is aimed at freeing Apapa - Oshodi Expressway of avoidable traffic gridlocks, and making the axis accessible to other road users.

Speaking in Lagos after a visit to the area, the General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Mr. Olawale Musa said despite series of meetings the Agency had with the stakeholders on the imperative of freeing Apapa of all traffic impediments, vehicles were still parked on the roads. According to him, no responsible government would fold its arms and allow lawlessness and impunity to reign.

The General Manager stressed that the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration is alive to its responsibilities and will not shy away from attending to the plight of the people.

According to him, this informed the setting up of a Special Task Force comprising of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Navy, Police, Civil Defence and Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) under the Chairmanship of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgar Imohimi to rid Apapa and environ of activities of illegal parking and menace of articulated vehicles.

He expressed optimism that with the creation of the Special Task, support and cooperation of other security Agencies and all stakeholders with LASTMA, issues of illegal parking of vehicles and other lawlessness will soon become a thing of the past.

Musa noted that at the stakeholders meeting held on Friday 17th November, 2017 at the NPA headquarters Marina, activities of articulated vehicles returning empty containers to the Port was identified as the major cause of traffic gridlock in the axis, as many of them had to wait up to ten days to discharge empty containers.

“This made them to park on the main carriageways for days and in the process impeding free flow of traffic. This was largely due to the fact that shipping companies that were supposed to provide holding bays for the empty containers in accordance with the license issued for them to operate in the country have either refused to provide or the ones existing were inadequate. The stakeholders have therefore resorted that henceforth, these vehicles are to use the following holding bays and terminals which includes, Comet Terminal, Joatelim, Ballore Transport and Logistics, HBX Terminal, Unity Bonded Terminal, Falcon Terminal, Port and Marine services and Duncan Terminal for their activities,” Musa said.

The LASTMA boss said the stakeholders also agreed that the all trucks currently loading at the port will be issued a docket indicating where they should return their empty containers instead of waiting ceaselessly on the roads to return them.

Musa assured the residents of Apapa and Lagos State in general that the current effort and exercise to restore sanity and orderliness to Apapa would be a continuous one, warning that anyone who defies government directive not to impede free flow of traffic will be dealt with according to the law.

He therefore enjoined all stakeholders especially the Shipping Council and Shipping Lines to sensitize and educate their members on the new directive.

According to him, “people should stop putting individual interest over and above public interest. Members of the public should also take possession of the already cleared roads, and not hesitate to inform the Agency of any broken down or abandoned tankers and trucks on Apapa – Oshodi Expressway as LASTMA has been empowered and positioned to response promptly to any distress.”

It would be recalled that owners and drivers of articulated vehicles illegally parked on the roads at Apapa and environ have been given up to the Friday, November 24 to remove them from and failure to do so would lead to full enforcement of laws.

AMAECHI VS. WIKE- TIME TO GROW UP!

One was the former Governor and now a Minister of the Federal Government, an important minister at that, with a massive portfolio. The other is the incumbent Governor of the same State, Rivers State.

Both used to be friends, with the current Governor being a prodigy of the former until they fell out, both now in different parties and avowed sworn enemies.

The story of the clash between the 2, very recently again, which could have led to bloodshed, had both sides not employed restraint is one that has enjoyed so much buzz.

Why both leaders, elders, fathers and husbands, cannot sheathe their forever drawn swords and allow peace to reign baffles us? Is it that their wives cannot talk to them to stop the nonsense? Is it that the kids cannot tell their daddies off, that you both should go and rest? Are there not elders in town, who can talk to both parties?

What is it that both are fighting for in the first place or have been fighting for, that they are both bent on embarrassing, disgracing, annihilating, witch-hunting, eviscerating each other? What is this battle of egos all about? Or is it far more than meets the eye?

Okay one has lost, and one has won, 4 years is not eternity, and is about finishing and another opportunity to test your popularities would soon come again, why the need to threaten each other needlessly all the time?

And the bad aspect of the whole imbroglio, is that while nothing would happen to both Amaechi and Wike and their very close family members, as they are too high up there and too cocoon to be touched, it is some over eager idiots and fools in the name of sworn and die-hard supporters/fans and even security details that would stretch out their necks and same would be cut off without a care in the world! All of the nonsense only for them to be mourned for 5 minutes and thereafter they are forgotten!

Let's even just try to imagine the ugly scenario, so what if one trigger happy security detail in the midst of the hoopla and rising temperature by mistake pulls the trigger, and everyone then responds!!!!!

Dear sirs, as adults, grown ups, leaders of the nation, those with responsibilities, and whom very much is expected of, there are developmental tasks expected of you both, that these unbridled energy and enthusiasm can be poured on. This foolish battle of egos, is just unneccesarily distracting from better things!

Please, GROW UP! 

MATTERS ARISING! WAS MAINA BEING PREPPED & PRIMED FOR BORNO STATE?

This Mainagate issue much as the Government would want for it to go away quickly and vaporise into thin air, like it never existed after the unprecedented hoopla it has generated; has refused to go quietly under the carpet.

In the face of it all, it has left much to be desired and has cast aspersions on many and has shown the incompetence of many, while also exposing many for who they truly are.

This particular incidence has given a major boost to the voice of the opposition also, who have gone into a "crazy frenzy", "brandishing their blood sucking fangs" and "highly sharpened claws" having seen and found an unmissable and an unmistakable opportunity to extract their own bloody pound of flesh and they have shouted themselves hoarse already and wouldn't just let it go at all, until all would hear and react.

But the main man at the middle of the mess himself, in the person of the ex-Pension Reform Task Team "PRTT boss Abdul-Rasheed Maina" has shown an uncanny and unbelievable ability at disappearing into thin air, without trace at a prompt! Maina in his former life, must have been a "magician of extraordinary ability", whose speciality in the business of hocus-pocus was to disappear into thin air right in front of his onlookers, which includes his enemies, rivals, friends and fans etc. Side by side with "the great Houdini", if there was ever a competition, we are of the opinion and too sure that Maina would have won hands-down as per his super acts!

So what's this gist that we are hearing that's not too clear? That what if the subterfuge to quietly allow him back into the main stream and promote him to the next position in one fell swoop had worked, there was the possibility that he might later have transformed to become a gubernatorial candidate of a party at the next election! Wow that would have definitely been an exquisite plan, that was gradually unfolding!

Reason being that he is supposed to have a colossal amount/funds stored away  and at his beck and call, which would have been good enough to prosecute an election into the Borno Government house!

Are we foolish? Let's just leave it at that for now!  

ROCHAS OKOROCHA OF IMO STATE- HOW DOES ONE DESCRIBE A MAN TOTALLY DISCONNECTED FROM HIS OWN PEOPLE?

People have asked the question to ascertain whether he is edelibrately insensitive?

That's only because how can one just make a decision that is so totally out of sync?

Is it that he lacks advisers? Or it's just that even when they advise him, he sees himself as the only intelligent one around, the undisputable lord of the manor, who can do no wrong?

Firstly, you brought in to the country, one of the most vilified person in Africa, same person whose own country people are doing their best to investigate for so many allegations. Same man who presides over a country, whose people totally hates your own countrymen and have even murdered a few to show you how they mean business.

So this same Jacob Zuma came into the country and in what still seem like a dream you unveil a statue of him! Which makes one to ask, is he Nelson Mandela? Or better still, what is Jacob Zuma's contribution to the world and to Nigeria to warrant such a monument? If the tables were turned, would South Africa or the government have done such for us too?

You used taxpayers money, which you claim not to have enough of, still owing backlogs of salaries, on a round of folly? Just to make yourself look totally out of tune and totally far away from reality?

And this is the same person that would point out or chose for his own people, who to succeed him at the next election? 

To say one is disappointed, would have meant one had expected better from you, the shock here comes from the fact that action was actually you, you made no effort at all, at not being predictable!

I was at a meeting by chance a few days ago and was with 2 people that have done so well for themselves in their businesses.

Young men from the Eastern part of Nigeria, who I believe are part of those that can bring about that great future we are earnestly awaiting.

While having our good hearted discussion about our country, we touched so many things, a few of which were the state of the nation, vis-a-vis IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, Boko Haram, Imo State etc.

Here for this space we would only talk about Imo State, that South Eastern state that has as her capital the famous Owerri, where Owelle Rochas Okorocha reigns supreme as the Generalismo, the Executive Governor and the boss of all bosses, totally annihilating all opposing voices.

Imagine the shock of my life, when one of those I was in discussions with, who hails from Imo state said categorically, that "the last time Imo State had it good or had a proper people serving, service conscious, development minded Government in place in the state, was during the administration of the Late Sam Mbakwe".

What???? That long ago?

He went on further to say that successive governments thereafter, time after time, have just been cosmetic, especially this present one, who is more talk then anything else! More shock!!!!

This person I was with, is from Imo State and he is extraordinarily passionate about his state. Also, he is not a politician at all, but a professional to the core and one who has etched a mark and has done well for himself. He believes that part of the reasons behind the agitation of IPOB and especially for Biafra especially as promoted by Nnamdi Kanu is because of the kind of dearth of leadership that has been prevalent all of these years. He felt that if there were purposeful people with the right mind and intellect in Governance most especially in his state and in the East as a whole, that development which is the crux of the agitations wouldn't have been minimal or better still near zero like it is.

So we have thought to ask here and now on this platform, that what "value (s)", very tangible ones at that have Rochas added to the lives of the people of Imo State since he became the Governor of the state? And by extension also, can an APC candidate ever win another election in Imo State again? Especially now that we are hearing that the Governor's son-in-law Uche Nwosu, who is married to his first daughter Uloma and who is the current Chief of Staff to the Governor is the anointed one, the preferred one being especially groomed to take over from his father-in-law!

The upcoming November 18, 2017 Governorship election in Anambra would be very very interesting. The assertion majorly is because it would pitch a well known very hardworking, incumbent action Governor against some very formidable opponents likes of Osita Chidoka and a few others who haven't yet won their party primaries, who just mere looking at them alone and what they have at their disposals, are titans.

If one were to carefully look at some of those wanting to take over from the incumbent very carefully and deeply at the same time, not just on the surface, some very interesting things would pop up too.

That November 2017 election would be a fight for the very soul of Anambra State. Imagine the the caliber of those who have shown interest, likes of Senator Andy Uba, Capital oil boss Ifeanyi Ubah, former beleaguered Minister for Aviation, Stella Oduah and many others.

Former Governor Peter Obi, with his exemplary leadership style had created a fantastic foundation upon which the current Governor has built enviably on, which is what has majorly endeared him to his people.

Anambra, is most probably the headquarters of the Ibos and though probably the most cosmopolitan of the South Eastern states, with very many of the core wealthy ones amd very educated ones from there, no matter how you look at it, it is still a "civil service state". So to be able to win any election in the state therefore, you would most probably have had to impress the state' civil service who are the influencers in the state.

IS OBANIKORO THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF LAGOS? HAS HE TRULY CROSS CARPETED TO THE RULING APC?

The rumour has been rife. It has gotten the media into overdrive with speculations. Musiliu Obanikoro himself has not helped matters at all. He has been hobbnobbing with the former opposition members, while still claiming to be member of his party. It's like he is intentionally playing a game.

From all indicatioms he is APC in spirit and soul, but maybe not yet bodily.

Many have thought that finally after all the intentional deflections of many weeks, that the former PDP perennial governorship contestant and former Defence Minister during the reign of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan might have finally jumped ship and has again gone to pitch his tent with his mentor again in the person of ASIWAJU Bola Ahmed Tinubu's APC.

Those who could read body language very well had predicted the move since, but apparently MUSILIU OBANIKORO, intentionally wanted to mix the people for a while first, whether to gauge their mindset before doing what is obvious that he would most definitely and some say certainly do.

Some have also speculated that this move, might also be a way by some bloc, to send signals somewhat to the incumbent action Governor, in the person of his excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, who has so far defied everyone's description has he seem to be in such a hurry to obliterate for good, not for bad, every record of achievements made by all his predecessors combined, except maybe Alhaji Lateef Jakande who was exceptional during his reign and time.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun,59 is the Chartered accountant turned politician and helmsman in Ogun State, who needs no introduction whatsoever. The former Senator now Governor is a known close pally of the President of Nigeria, in the person of President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR.

Abike Dabiri Erewa, 55 on her own is not a push over by any means. the former honourable member of the House of Representatives elected in 2003, is a close aide of President Muhammad Buhari, GCFR. Her desk as a Senior Special Adviser to the President is quite important, as she advises on Foreign Relations and the diaspora and she has acquited herself very well at her job. The former renowned TV gal, is known to be a very serious and hardworking person.

So what's the connection between these 2? Before anyone's mind would go on overdrive, and start thinking anyhow thoughts, we can tell you for a fact that it has to do with their kids!

As if to say thank you very much for the past and welcome back on board again by the State Government of Cross River, ably led by Professor Benedict (Ben) Ayade, the Executive Governor of the rich and very beautiful South-South state; PR Guru, Brand Specialist extraordinaire and Communicator par excellence, Charles O'tudor has been engaged by successive governments to help repackage and re-brand the image and the perception of the state and how people, both inside and outside view the oil producing state. The result of this mandate given to him is to be unveiled next week towards the celebration of Cross Rivers @ 50 anniversary.

O'tudor, who is the principal consultant and head honcho at one of West Africa's best strategy brand- Adstrat, is taking off from where he left before, though in another capacity. His extraordinary handprints​ are all over Cross River, where his expertise many areas He was said to have done an extraordinary job when he was engaged then by the government of Liyel Imoke as the head of the Parastatal in charge of outdoor advertising and signages in the state. According to the many encomiums that came his way while saddled with that responsibility, he was able to bring discipline and sanity to what was then seen to have been in utter chaos before, thereby earning good returns for the government. He was also the brain behind many other laudable projects like Destination Cross River, Carnival Calabar just to mention a few.

Now that he has been engaged for another great assignment, expectations are already high and there's​ palpable excitement in the state, as many already know that he has the uncanny ability to always deliver on given mandates​.

Charles O'tudor who is very well known in and outside the industry for his ability to come up with award winning brand principles which are unique to himself, such like oxygenation of brand ideals, deoxygenation of archaic ideas and principles just to mention a few, is expected to immediately help add life to how the state known as the People's Paradise is perceived.

WHO IS THE NEXT GOVERNOR OF LAGOS?

Many names are been bandied around already though the election that would chose who to replace the incumbent is still far off. Many are of the opinion that the choice of who to replace the current action Governor lies solely with the Asiwaju of Lagos, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu. But our findings shows that it might not be that easy. 


Already as we speak, much politicking is already ongoing in the background, so as to position those who feel they deserve to be the next to vie for the post. But as much as the party in power in Lagos is planning ahead for the next election. The main opposition party is not resting in their bid also to wrest Lagos away from the party on the throne right now. 
 

MUIZ BANIRE

Many names have cropped up in recent times, some of those we have heard about are the likes of former Commissioner for Environment and a top Chieftain of the ACN, in the person of Alhaji Muiz Banire, also on that list is Senator Ganiyu Solomon, a close ally of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, another is Obafemi Hamzat, the current Commissioner for Works in the administration of His excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola, another also is Mr. Tunde Fowler, the current Tax boss in Lagos, he is the boss of the Lagos State Internal Revenue, another prominent name that has cropped up is that of the Permanent Secretary, Lands in Lagos State, Barrister Hakeem Muri-Okunola, who is the youngest amongst all the names being mentioned, another name we have heard in passing is that of another Commissioner in the present administration, in the person of Gbolahan Lawal. Mr. Lawal used to be the ADC to Asiwaju before and his lot has grown ever since then. One other name that used to be more prominent before was that of the current Speaker of the house in Lagos State, in the person of Honourable Adeyemi Ikuforiji, but that name has gone to the back-burner since the scandal on the mismanagement of a colossal N7 billion. With many of these prominent names coming up daily, many do not know where the pendulum would swing in the case of the Asiwaju, who many believes holds the aces. And just like the Asiwaju did before in his choice of BRF, he might go ahead to surprise everyone again, by totally overlooking all those jostling for the post presently. 

But one very influential person many might be overlooking right now, but whose support might be very important for whoever should emerge to run for the election as the boss of Lagos in the next election, is the current incumbent. As much as people might not be looking his way, his say would be of utmost importance.  Also ready to spring a major surprise as long as they put their house in order is the PDP, but their surprise would depend on them choosing a fantastic personality to represent them.  

Some are of the opinion that ACN or would it be APC then, might not have it so easy this time around ooo. This might be because of some actions taken by this current Government that some might not have liked.




Time would tell anyway. And election time would soon be here. So lets wait and see.
