The modeling competition world is getting more fierce by the day, as another top class competition has been added to the pile. In Nigeria there's the Joan Okorodudu packaged Nigeria's Next Super Model Competition, then also is the Elohor Aisien packaged Elite Nigeria Model Look Competition, these 2 are the biggest in town. But a new one that would give all others a run for their money and is not limited to Nigeria alone as just being launched and it is the Africa's Next Top Model Competition, which is an off-shoot of the more famous America's Next Top Model Competition which was created in 2003 by former supermodel and American sweetheart, Tyra Banks. The American reality series/interactive competition is already in its 20th cycle.
The African version of the highly rated series was launched in Nigeria at the weekend, the host of the show you all already know, it's none other than one of Africa's greatest modeling pride, the gorgeous Oluchi Onweagba-Orlandi.
The idea behind the reality series/competition is to provide a veritable platform for discovering the next modeling superstars. In this case an opportunity to discover a true 'African' modeling superstar in the making.
Prior to the launch at the weekend, Oluchi who is the biggest model as at yet to have ever come out of Nigeria was said to have traverse Africa, scouting for the best talent for the inaugural edition of the reality series/modeling competition.
At the launch of the show at the weekend were the likes of top designer Folake Folarin-Coker of Tiffany Amber, Studio 24 hostess Eku Edewor, her former co-hostess Dolapo Oni, ace photographer Reze Bonner, Style Mania Magazine editor Dimeji Alara, former model Janet Bunor and a host of many others.
