On 26th December 2011 Boxing Day, Lagos will experience its first world class boxing fight held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos. The Christmas charity Boxing Day fight is guaranteed to be an explosive event for lovers of the boxing art and sport enthusiasts. Boxing Day just got its groove back, as this event promises an action filled night loaded with punches, music and laughter.


Presented by Gold Fist Promotions, Boxing vs. Hip Hop Fight Night will be the first of its kind of many boxing tournaments to be initiated in Nigeria. A novel form of excitement and action, arousing and igniting national pride through the fine sport and art of pugilism will be experienced.
With the ring as the center stage, hosted by Ill Rhymes and Yvonne 'Vixen' Ekwere, this unique engagement will host 2 professional male fights, 1 amateur female fight and the NBBC championship title fight that will be ushered by celebrity managers on the night. These include Rugged Man, Muna, Kel, Koffi the Comedian, Joseph Benjamin and Emmanuel ‘Mannie’ Essien. A star studded line up of performances by Nigeria's finest in Hip Hop include Lynxxx, Brymo, W4, Eva, Davido, Skales, Show Dem Camp andYemi Alade, join the ring in-between matches to serve their skills and entertain the crowd. All eight boxers will be licensed and approved with fights decided by 1 celebrity judge, and 2 official judges appointed by the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBoC).

Fighting is a lot easier when your opponent isn’t Cancer- as a Christmas charity boxing event, the charities chosen for this glorious event are the MariaSam Foundation and Children Living with Cancer Foundation, where a portion of the funds raised from patronage will be donated.
