Despite the terrible weather lastnite in Scotland, the Stars/celebs still came out in large numbers at the £125m Pounds Hydro Arena venue to be a part of the 2013 edition of the MOBO Awards.
The Hydro Arena is a new venue that only just opened about a month ago. Unfortunately our dear own Wizkid didn't win in the category he was nominated, the best African act, which was won by Fuse ODG. Other Nigerian music acts nominated with Wizkid in the African Acts category are Ice Prince, Seun Kuti & Tiwa Savage. The full list winners & their categories are as follows-
Best Song: Naughty Boy- La la la
Best Album: Rudimental-Home
Best Female: Laura Mvula
Best Male Act: Wiley
Best Newcomer: Krept & Konan
Best International Act: Kendrick Lamar
Best African Act: Fuse ODG
Best Hip Hop/Grime Act: Tinie Tempah
Best Reggae Act: Sean Paul
Best R&B/Soul Act: Laura Mvula
Best Video: Naughty Boy feat Sam Smith- La la la
Best Jazz Act: Sons of Kemet
Best Gospel Act: Lurine Cato
The BeMOBO' Award: Baroness Doreen Lawrence, founder of the Stephen Lawrence Charitable Trust.
This is the 3rd time the awards would hold in Scotland and the very first time at the Hydro Arena. Those that performanced at the awards were Fuse ODG, Tinie Tempah, Iggy Azalea, Rudimental, Ms. Dynamite, Naughty Boy & Jahmene Douglas.
